I have tried Lyrica with no change in symptoms started taking Ralivia (Tramadol) last winter found that it was helpful for pain but when I went to stop taking this went through huge withdrawal symptoms was horrible. Am currently taking T#3/Advil for pain sometimes Percocet for really bad days. I do not want to take these analgisics as they are also highly addictive. Anyone know of any other meds without narcotic that have been helpful for treatment of symptoms? .

here in canada most rheumys will not follow up on fibro - i dont know the meds your taking but the swelling i would be worried about - the swelling will cause decreased circulation which means less oxygen and vitamins and cleansing to/for the muscles what is your gut telling you - i wouldnt give up the rheumy unless you had to - i would ask both the same questions that your asking here - what are all my options as far as medications go - my gp put me on a b vit mixture used for heart patients

How do you pay for Lyrica?, I take one 75 MG in a.m and one 75mg at noon and two 75mg's at bedtime for treatment of FMS and it's costing me $384 a month.

If you have no drug coverage Lyrica will cost you about $350.00/mn. That for 3 tabs of 100mg/day ouch! Our FDA (food and drug association) is why. I have gotten my meds through Canada and they are so much cheaper. With the laws in place now here in the good ol' US of A it is being considered a narcotic. So you can't get Lyrica through the mail just like pain meds. The meds I got through Canada funny (well not real funny) most came from England or India.

Have you asked your family doctor for a referral to a specialist in your area? Have you contacted your local mental health clinic (and yes, there is one in Barrie)? Does anyone have any names of docs in Canada who deal with AD. We were vacationing in Australia, both got bit by jellyfish. I had AD for 3 months and it went away. He still has it after 2 years. He was healthy, young 35 yr old with no health issues. It's crazy, I could make a movie out of our experience. Any help is appreciated.

I take 900 mg of Gabapentin, 50mg Tramadol, 10 mg of Zolpidem (generic for Ambien). It takes 2 hrs for mine to kick in sometimes but I get about 6 hrs of undisturbed sleep. Many times, when I wake I have nerve pain in my right upper shoulder/armpit area. I have tried all sorts of over the counter sleep aides and this is the only one that doesn't make me feel yucky the next day.

[b]I have been living with burning and pain in my middle finger, ring finger and now the pinky finger[/b]. The pain is so severe I have to blow on them to keep warm or shake my hand to get rid of the pins and needles I feel. The fingers have to be continuously kept warm because they burn when they are exposed to coldness. No direct pressure can be put on my wrist and all the way up to my elbow.

I am hearing contradictory opinions about the safety of Lyrica in a recovering addict. I would rather live with the pain than relapse. Has anyone had any experience with this?

My Brain and Spine MRI is normal with no evidence of demyelination I live in Manitoba, CANADA and my neurologist and hematologist are completely confused by my symptoms. My neuropathy is controlled by 150mg amitryptyline and 450mg Lyrica. I suppose that my closest diagnosis is a Chronic immune sensory polyradiculopathy but that apparently doesn't explain my blood results and my bone marrow biopsy.

Hi, do you live in the US or Canada? I live in Canada. I take Tramadol for long term pain. Tramacet for break through pain. My main FM med is Topiramate (an anti-seizure medication). I take Trazadone for sleeping along with Elavil at night to aid with sleep and pain. I have a lot of problems with IBS so I take meds for that also. There that is my med file. I also am on Thyroid medication.

Lyrica (pregabalin) has caused significant weight gain over 18 months or so, but in two very rapid bursts - the first time I started on it and reached a stable dose, and the second time I started using it again, on 450 - 600 mg/day. Weight gain started even at lower doses, however I was substantially underweight prior to using lyrica, so it didn't bother me initially. Fortunately at least some of that is water retention and it disappears fairly quickly.

Those of you who know me know that I'm constantly complaining about my paresthesias. It is by far the worst in my left hand. That hand hasn't had normal sensation in over five years, and I don't expect it ever will again. My question is for those who may also have this symptom. I have a constant feeling of pressure in my fingers, like they've got clothespins stuck on them. Like MS hug of the hand.
