lyrica

Avatar n tn I know Lyrica is a med for diabetes. It has just recently been accepted by the FDA for use with fibromyalgia. I've never heard of it being perscribed for anything else. I only researched it after it was approved for fibro. Good luck with your surgery.
Avatar f tn how would lyrica help with pain management for L4-5 disc herniation? I've been using 50 mg twice daily for about 2 weeks now and I'm not sure that it's helping.
Avatar f tn I was also wondering if anyone can tell me if the lyrica should have helped on the first dose and if I shoud continue to try it or if I should just switch back to the neurontin. Is the lyrica something that takes days to get used to? Also I am very disconcerted over the fact that he gave me a crapload of cymbalta and asked me if I had ever been treated for anxiety or depression.
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
Avatar m tn m not trying to start a long thread here just a quick question for those who are in the know about Lyrica.I have diabetic Neurapathy and need all the help I can get but can use another addiction like a whole in the head.So My question is,Lyrica:addictive?I know it gives a high at about 450mgs but I dont plan on doing that but in general is it addictive? Thanks.
630344 tn?1280104983 on Fibro which sure does help. What strength of the Lyrica did your doc put you on? Mine put me on the 75mg and I was to take them twice daily. Uggh! They absolutely did nothing for my pain. Now I read where the experts (?) lol, are suggesting Cymbalta for Fibro, which is, I believe, an anti-depressant. I have taken just about every anti-depressant made and have had bad reactions to them all over the years.
237152 tn?1206651036 my luck it takes a while to get addicted and u will see me on here asking for help with a lyrica addiction lol......but as for now i think it is a safe med...good luck swetie....happy easter!!!!
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Actually, Lyrica does help many people...but it only treats the symptoms, not the cause. It can have some serious side-effects, esp. in someone who is hypersensitive to the chemicals or suffers from multiple chemical sensitivities (as most with FMS/CFS do). I had tried the Effexor, which is like Lyrica, and had behavioral changes and seizure like activity at bedtime. I didn't take another dose. bthnn - sorry to hear you had such a strong reaction to the Lyrica.
Avatar f tn I am hoping the switching to lyrica will help with the amount of painkillers I need to take in the run of a day. A friend of mine suffers from Fibromyalgia and started taking Lyrica over a month ago and has had wonderful results. Best of luck trying out the Lyrica!
Avatar f tn i have never taken ritalin or lyrica and i dont drink..lol...i know i am not much help for ya. i did take adderall but i was not addicted to it...i just quit...maybe someone will be along that can help you..its late and not many ppl are on...check back in the morning.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
Avatar f tn can adderal help the pain for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome i have read it will wat to know how true this is i ave tried amost all of the strong narcotic pain pills and they dont work or can not take them i need help to get out bed and funiction during the day and stay foucused.
1318483 tn?1318347182 Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Could it be from the Lyrica? Have I been on the Lyrica long enough to feel a change in my pain....even if it is just a little? My pain: Both legs and my right arm feel like there is a vise grip on them squeezing tighter and tighter. I have had this for 5 years. My right arm pain changed to extreme burning in the arm and numb fingers in the middle of April. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Avatar n tn does anyone have an idea on how to get a lot of help on lyrica perscriptions with out having any insurance?
210982 tn?1280983895 d had and I couldnt remember many of them. I dont want to totally knock lyrica, because it did really help with the severe pain, but the side effects for me were pretty bad. Thankfully the doctors determined later that I dont have RSD and alot of my nerve pain subsided when I began stretching and excercising during physical therapy. I still have Lyrica for when I get nerve pain, but I havent had to take it for a couple of months now.
Avatar m tn has anyone ever been perscribed Lyrica for cronic pain. If so how much do you take, and how long did it take to notice any results. I started taking 50MG's 3X's a day. I started last Tuesday, and haven't noticed any difference in my pain. any feedback would be great.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, I'm investigating Lyrica, and a switch over maybe, I'm almost at the max of Gabapentin, so am looking into other options. I have heard though that so many people GAIN lots of weight with Lyrica..... have you folks found that to be a problem?? My mother is 79 and was put on Lyrica..( not to sure why), but apparently gained 40 pounds in 7 weeks, and I for soure don't want that. Extra weight is also hard on us with MS........
Avatar n tn hello naomi, i have been on lyrica or pregabaline as i call it,, and it does help a lot with atn,try a higher dose (over 500mg a day) and that will ease it a bit, you could also try asking your docter for a trial of topirimate to go with the lyrica, that will help also but the topirimate might make you a bit scatty!!! it did with me so i had a change to the pain patches(buprenorphine transdermal patch) they are ok, but don,t suit everyone ..and wow!
5100586 tn?1363644754 I'm only on day 3.. knowing you all are already in the double digits is scary because I thought this could only last a week or so.. so much for being naïve.. I don't ever want back on lyrica but I don't know at what point I might need to get help from the hospital with my w/d as far as hydration and eating goes I haven't kept any food or water down and like I said I'm on day 3.. any advise will help!
