Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Getting off Lyrica may cause a number of discontinuation side effects. Quitting Lyrica suddenly can result in withdrawal symptoms including insomnia, headache, nausea, diarrhea and flu-like symptoms.
Avatar n tn I just started Lyrica last night. Nothing knocked me out like that did. I feel so drugged this morning, and a headache What are we using this for anyway? Pain or a sleeping pill?? I'm sorry but reading others questions, ya'll have keep increasing this drug to 600-700mg. Then what do you do? How do you guys function? I feel horrible. Not sure the pain from fibro is more enduring that this? Tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
1823499 tn?1370090289 I take Lyrica and extended release tylenol daily and that has improved my life immensely. You may want to have a consult with your GP to work out a pain management plan. I was stubborn for so long that I wasn't going to take meds and all it did was cause me months of unneeded pain. I hope this helps!
1352348 tn?1315550254 Still have a headache and feet and legs still hurt ect.. Avatar m tn I have had a constant 24/7 headache for twenty (20) years and have had every test, medication known to mankind! I am currently on serious doses of morphine twice a day plus a savage anti depressant twice daily. OK, during all this time I accidentally found that if I am a passenger or driver in a car and it is suddenly braked and then accelerated I immediately pass out for up to 10 seconds. No Doctor has been able to come up with a reason for this and none have tried to work out why.
Avatar f tn After years of going from doctor to doctor, I was introduced to Lyrica in 2007. This medication is a wonderful miracle drug foir me. They prevent the headaches from coming as often and when they do come they are not as severe. Praise God. I take Imetrix 100mg tablets when I feel one coming on but if I wait too late, I have to give myself the Imetrix injection. They come in a kit and not hard to do at all. Hey it is better than the headache and doens't last as long too boot.
Avatar f tn She received injections for the occipital nerve - Her pain is in the back right at the base of her skull only. They said that should make her headache go away instantly from the numbing the nerve, then 48 hours for the actual medicine to work. That didn't work at all. So the ran DHE for 3.5 days. She did tolerate that better than most they said after her 7th dose, the pain suddenly got worse so then they thought it wasn't helping.

1088430 tn?1259159773 I asked this question in a reply I left to someone on the "headaches" forum, but wanted to ask you guys seperate b/c I'm sure you have had longer experiences with your Rx history... Neur. added Lyrica to my "regimen" just two days ago when I saw him. Had asked him about topamax but he said that with the added burning issues, Lyrica was "better" than topamax due to directly addressing "nerve pain"...Even after one dose that same day I knew i LOVED it!!
Avatar f tn My neurologist prescribed Trazadone 50 mg to take at night to help with sleep. I'm being treated for occipital neuralgia and the pain is very annoying and I can't concentrate on anything or feel relaxed because of this. I've been waking up with a headache for the last 3 weeks and getting really sick of it! Can the Trazadone be taken during the day as well? or is it a sleeping medicine? Anybody on it?
Avatar f tn Post surgery I had a few complications including nerve damage in my leg and pelvic arthritis. I was on percocet lyrica and cymbalta. Once the nerve damage got better I stopped the lyrica and cymbalta. After going back to work after surgery, I was afraid of taking percocet (im a teacher) so the dr gave me tramadol. 2 weeks ago I had steroidal injections in my pelvis and asked for something stronger because the tramadol wasnt working.
937140 tn?1246013288 Start a headache diary. Write down the time the headache started, how long it lasted, what you did to try and treat it (meds, heat, cold...), anything you think may have triggered the headache, what type of pain the headache was (throbbing, puslating, ice pick, tight...), where the pain was located and how bad the pain was on a 1-10 scale. Good luck... of and few days ago I believe a dr here on med help posted some info on headaches/migranes...

614661 tn?1267273924 I am on day 3 of Lyrica, I am having very bad constant headache and can't think straight and am dropping things and feeling rather zombie-ish. I am only starting and am supposed to up my dosage on Monday...any one that has taken this can you say this is the body adjusting? will this subside? The pain is slightly less but the headahe is so very bad. I have Myofascial Cronic Pain and have never been on anything before.
Avatar m tn on the 5th of this May I experienced the worst headache i've ever experienced in my life (like a knife in my eye). it started @ 9am & ended @ 5 pm. the next day was worse.... and worse the next, and worse the next -each day they aways start @ 9am & end @ 5 pm (none of the 5 doc's who've seen me can explain why they start & stop so consistantly to the hour). from 9 to 10 is the ramp up time, from 10 to 4 was complete agony, from 4 to 5 ramp down.
1929539 tn?1327250432 I had my surgery 10/18/2011. I have not been headache free a single day since. Some days the headaches are better than others but they are never gone. I go to physical therapy once every other week. This helps with preventing the really bad headaches. I am just tired of being in pain. I take ultram, robaxin, xanaflex, and butterbur. I have two injections to help with the pain. These have never helped. Although once it did take away my dizziness. I have three little ones under the age of 8.
Avatar n tn I have used narcotic pain killers with no help but I have used ice packs on the outside of my cheek which seems to help. I have also used Lyrica that I had for nerve damage and it has helped also. Do you have any thoughts? Thank you very much for your time.
Avatar n tn When it first happened, I was taking lots of medication that listed this as a side effect (lyrica, ambien and pain medication following back surgery). The surgery was two months ago and I've been off all medications for about three weeks. I had a terrible 'attack' of this double vision a few days ago, so bad that I couldn't drive. The double vision is horizontal and goes away when I cover either eye. It seems to come and go, but has been persistent the last couple of days.

986593 tn?1283532211 Abrupt or Rapid Discontinuation Following abrupt or rapid discontinuation of LYRICA, some patients reported symptoms including insomnia, nausea, headache, and diarrhea. LYRICA should be tapered gradually over a minimum of 1 week rather than discontinued abruptly. Hmm, sound familiar?
