Lyrica for numbness

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica for numbness

lyrica

Avatar f tn I have been perscribed Lyrica for motor and century nerve damage. I do not have pain but tingling and burning sensation, which is sporadic, the burning that is, the numbness is constant. This throws my balance off and I am not able to walk without cane, walker, or holding onto something. Should I see a Neurologist? Is Lyrica something that will help with the numbnes? I take blood pressure medicine, warfarin, anti- depressant and Nexium. Should I take Lyrica? Than you.
Avatar f tn I take Lyrica myself. It is for nerve pain. It does nothing for my numbness, etc. I may have to go back to neurontin as my insurance co doesn't want to pay for Lyrica. So far for 4 months now, my doc has given me samples, but that can't go on forever. The only trouble I have with Lyrica is I have to be VERY strict about carbs, as it causes craves, and weight gain. Hope this helps.
131817 tn?1209529311 I take 75mg of Lyrica 3x a day. It works fairly well for me I usually take one pill in the morning and two at night. The one thing you have to be careful about with Lyrica is weight gain. Recently I have been losing weight like crazy, so maybe putting some on wouldn't be a bad idea LOL. Good Luck and take care.
Avatar f tn Have been diagnosed with fibromyalga. On lyrica. Could this frequent! Numbness and pain in my hands be from the lyric (side effect) or Could there be another issue? Do have herniated disc with causes a lot of back pain. Only 56 years of age, very active and would like to stay that way.
400099 tn?1282954864 Thanks all for your tips. I've only been dx'd for 18 months so I don't know alot about the symptoms, yet. I've had most of the symptoms (according to my neuro I've about got them all), but this one seems to be getting worse the past little while. Rendean, does the neurontin really help? It is so annoying. Plus, for about an hour, the bottoms of my feet were actually burning. Yech.
Avatar n tn Check with your doctor to see if Tegretol, Neurontin, Lyrica, or Keppra would help. They're usually used for seizures, but also sometimes for thalamic pain syndrome. Good luck.
97654 tn?1214348650 Hi Kim I just bumped up and old thread regarding Lyrica for you....It has quite a bit of info for you...... I have never taken it....sorry I couldn't be of more help... Hope you feel better soon...
Avatar f tn I had hypothalamic lacunar stroke on 01/09/09 with subsequent thalamic pain syndrome on my right side arm/hand & leg/foot/toes. Constant tingling/burning/tightness/numbness & cold my entire right side of body. After stroke, my doctor immediately put me on 75 mg Plavix same day. After putting up with syndrome for 4 weeks, I went to my neurologist Thursday, 02/05/09 & told him the pain was really getting to me. He prescribed Lyrica 75 mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn the day before thanksgiging and I was taking gabapentin300mg. I have to wait and see if my Medicair part D pays for the lyrica. I had to pay out of pocket 28.00 for 6 pills. We are testing to see if the lyrica helps. I woke the other night to such sever numbness and pain in my legs and feet I was crying. I work out and have to walk everywhere due to I have lost a lot fo my vision and I am back in school studyingprelaw.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar f tn He woke up one morning with a pain in his leg and back, followed by rapid progression of numbness, weakness, and severe painin his lower extremities. Within a few weeks this subsided, much to our relief. However, in December, the same things came back, along with weakness numbness and severe pain in all extremities, blurred vision, urinary/bowel incontinence(intermittent), severe back and leg pain, and an inability to walk. This too cleared up within a few weeks. Fast forward to January.
Avatar f tn None seemed to help my groin pain but Lyrica and Gabapentin did seem to alleviate the leg numbness. Two weeks ago I had to nerve blocks to my iliohypogastric nerves near my groin. The blocks only felt fine for one day then they made the pain worse and increased the pins and needles feeling in my hips and lower back. Kind of reaching around the were the nerves originate in the spine. I'm really not sure where to go from here.
451366 tn?1211304932 ve been on cymbalta for a year and have been put on lyrica (25) for a month has helpped with restless legs and Fibro abit, just increased to 75mg, had problems.
Avatar n tn I have nerve pain, primarily in my lower legs, and have been put on Lyrica, Neurontin and soon will start on Cymbalta to see if I get a better result with the pain. In addition, I am taking baclofen before bedtime for the pain. The good thing about baclofen is that it helps relax the muscles spasms, but doesn't do anything for the numbness/tingling. Thats ok though because the numbness and tingling are not my main concerns anymore.
Avatar n tn My thumb on my left hand won,t stop twitching it go,s on all day an all night it has been going on like this for 7 days now, Its driving me crazy.I have corpral tunnel in my left hand that has not been treated yet,I also have fibromyalgia an have just started a new medication called lyrica. I don,t no whats going on i just want it to stop could my corpral tunnel be causing this?
4310107 tn?1352840858 Lyrica is usually prescribed for depression and muscle pain. True, it won't do much for numbness. Am confused as you said at first that your 2 MRI's were pretty conclusive but did not elaborate. Then that the Dr. never did an MRI Neurontin is what many MS patients use for pain. You also state that the pain and numbness is bilateral, (both feet) which is not how MS usually presents.
Avatar f tn All he has done for me is prescribe neurontin and that only helps with the numbness and tingling. It doesn’t provide any relief for the progressively worsening pain which is now debilitating after a year and a half. I need help in understanding what the report means. Also does anyone have any suggestions as to what treatment I might ask for? The report states the following: At L3-L4, there is mild disk space narrowing with small marginal osteophytes.
Avatar m tn Is there any treatment for idiopathic sensory peripherial neuropathy?(non diabetic) Is there any known cause?
Avatar m tn The following comes and goes not more than a few seconds muscle spasms in my feet, calves tingle all the way up to my knee, twitching over my entire body when at rest including eye twitching, real ache in both arms(this has improved since being on Lyrica), both hands tingle and numb some, thumb hurts sometimes when using it and NOT at all other times and the other thumb is beginning to hurt (the thumb issue really is worrying me), slight numbness in my cheek, ear and part of my head will tingle,
Avatar f tn I just posted about my neuropathy pain. I am also on Lyrica. It is the only thing that keeps me going without going crazy. I also have it in my hands and the Lyrica doesn't do much for them. I haven't had headaches (knock on Wood), but can emphatize with you on the other. What type doctor prescribed your Lyrica? I saw my podiatrist when this all started, although I knew it was chemo induced, because I also have diabeties and needed the assurance that it was not from that.
Avatar m tn t comment on the cause of your burning sensations, but have to say your dose of Lyrica is very low. Ask your doctor for an increase, and follow instructions carefully for titrating it up over time. 75 mg isn't enough to do anything.
Avatar f tn m just wondering if anyone has experienced at some point and time pain in their arms as well as continuous numbness to their hands?? This is something fairly new for me because now it's lasting for a long time instead of only for a few moments. I am still awaiting another neuro's opinion. My family dr yesterday told me that my spine MRI looked good and she didn't think that this new symptom could be from a pinched nerve.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Could any one tell me if Lyrica or Amitriptyline would dull down my brisk reflexes? One of the reasons my neuro considered my symptoms may be MS was because I had brisk reflexes. I have been to see the neuro rehab team and in there summary it said my reflexes were normal. I actaully don't remember the dr doing them. They refered me to a neuro physio, who pointed out the way my right foot reacts to being scratched underneath is far from normal.
Avatar n tn Are their anti-inflammatory agents that are more natural than Lyrica or Celebrex. This is awful....
Avatar n tn I am on Lyrica for burning feet caused by neuropathy. When standing, I am having dizzy spells and risk the chance of falling. I'm not sure if it's the medication or the MS. Does anyone else have this problem? This discussion is related to MS and age....
Avatar f tn I have been on a high dose of Lyrica for almost 2 years and have gained 30 lbs. Way too much for someone my height. A friend said she took Zonegran for nerve pain and it helped her tremendously. My c ondition now is post herpetic neuraglia left over from shingles in the top of my head, forehead, eyebrow and left eye. have anyone tried Zonegran for post herpetic nueraglia (PHN) and did it help. The Lyrica is now affecting my eyes so I am desperate to get off it.
