lyrica

Avatar f tn For 2 months, I have the "MS itch" on one part of my lower back. It is unbearable. Creams don't help. Ice pack provides relief for a few minutes. Sleep is fine. After up & moving for several minutes, the itching starts. Simply, my neurologist doesn't know what he's doing. He recommended Cymbalta & Lyrica!! Instead, I showed him a prominent MS website regarding itching, so he prescribed their suggestion, Neurontin.

Avatar f tn Well, you have come to the Multiple Sclerosis forum which is not so much involved with peripheral neuropathy as it is central neuropathy. So I would recommend that you post this question over on the Neurology forum. There are medications approved in the use of peripheral neuropathy. Lyrica was just approved for this use in diabetic neuropathy, but it is used in other forms, too. There are other meds used, but I am not an expert in them. Good luck to you relieving your misery!

Avatar f tn Gabapentin, otherwise known as Neurontin is actually a drug used to treat seizures, and somewhere along the way was discovered to be effective in relieving nerve pain assiciated with multiple sclerosis. I find it also helps me with the muscle spasms and "charlies" that I get in my legs. I hope this helps. Beth.
Avatar n tn I know there are studies on subexone but I haven't heard of many taking naltrexone. It is primarily a drug for achhol and opoid dependence but it does have pain relieving properities.
335728 tn?1331414412 There are a number of white matter hyperintensities. These are in typical distribution for the demyelination of multiple sclerosis. (CD available) DIAGNOSIS: Multiple Sclerosis November 2007: Developed severe pain in heels of feet equated to lightning bolts going through my feet...this pain has since travelled up the backs of my ankles and on occasion, into my large toes. Nothing has alleviated this pain to date. December 2007: Swallowing issues which alleviated after the holidays.

Avatar m tn You need to consult a neurologist to be checked for MS, multiple sclerosis, a chronic demyelinating disorder according to your symptoms and MRI brain findings. C6 C7 level disc degeneration needs to be looked for and correlated with clinical findings could cause the shooting pain in right shoulder and hand numbness. Therapy would include lyrica, NSAIDs, acupressure, physical therapy, exercise, epidural injection of steroids and decompressive surgery.
Avatar f tn Hi Laura. I was just looking on your profile page, and it appears you have already successfully joined this community. When I look on this page http://www.medhelp.org/personal_pages/user/19011930 under the "Communities" heading, it says "Multiple Sclerosis". I hope this helps. Bear in mind things can be a little quieter around here on the weekends.
Avatar f tn So I just found out today that I am four wks pregnant and while I'm excited, I'm also scared because I am a Multiple Sclerosis patient and I've been taken my meds every other day all this time along with pain killers. Do you think I harmed my baby in any way?
Avatar f tn Apart from the contentions of an autommune disorder being missed, this also needs multiple sclerosis to be investigated. These multiple neurological symptoms could be due to a chronic demyelinating condition called multiple sclerosis where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcom to the forum, I have never heard of anyone being on Medrol for that long, what are your reasons for being on it for such a long period of time? Seems to me that being on it for that long could be very problematic but I could be wrong, I am sure others will chime in. As for the DVT I don't believe that is related to MS that is more of a blood disorder if I am correct and MS is a CNS disease.

Avatar f tn I just feel so hopeless right now cause no one has answers for how I feel. I was told also that fibromyalgia is not a reason and it is just a term for a group of problems rolled into one. I have been searching the internet for help and came across this site. My symptoms all got worse in May right after I had the flu real bad. Is this any correlation to any of this? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for you help.
1925501 tn?1322888691 no sorry i do not know a doctor to help for free but i do know that the MS Society will pay to have you get Diagnosed and pay for the scans no matter if he has it or not, but only those sets of scans'
Avatar m tn One of them said it is all due to ur anxiety ( Cause i do not have any bladder problems and dizziness, numbness tingling all is due to anxiety) but one said its Multiple Sclerosis+ anxiety. My MRI and EEG were clear. Currently i have high frequency of muscle tingling through out my body only when i am lying on bed plus i see double vision of any statement especially ( white in colour) on TV and laptop. Is it MS? Should I start taking Med for MS or just let it be and hope it will go away?
Avatar f tn The second is the issue where the sphincter works fine, but the bladder fails to contract. For some guy it will take some time for the bladder to empty just by gravity. Men can have a combination of the two MS can also cause ED, including failure to achieve an adequate erection, failure to maintain an erection, and decreased sensation that leads to failure to orgasm.
