680499 tn?1233851308 I have been on Lyrica for over a year now for peripheral neuropathy. It has lost it's power for lack of better words. It takes the edge off but it certainly doesn't work like it use too.
Avatar n tn some people get leg cramps the worse, im one of thsoe people, mine hurt the worst in my shin area, it feels like i ran a thousand marathons , but at the same time im in to much pain to move around, i just wriggle around.
773755 tn?1328119777 Docs have been using it for restless leg and other things, but it is kidney toxic if you use too much for too long and the govt has recently issued a warning for people to stop using it for anything but malaria. Doesn't seem to be harmful in the small amounts you find when it's used as a bitters, but apparently too much can be a problem, so care would seem advisable.
Avatar f tn Magnesium Citrate works very well in my experience against leg cramps and cause no problem for the liver, 1 pill of 200 mg before sleep is usually enough. People with Hep C sometimes need it.

125003 tn?1262464466 I am now experiencing pain and cramps down my legs.I think maybe from the cbg on the left leg or catarization on the right leg.I also have black and blue spots on the back of each leg. Do you know if anything can be done for this or what has maybe caused it?
Avatar n tn I just started taking Lyrica for sciatic pain secondary to herniated discs. I've taken two 75-mg doses so far. On the second night, I was awakened by excruciating pain in my right leg, worse than what I was having pre-Lyrica. Has anyone experienced an increase in his/her nerve pain after starting Lyrica?
Avatar n tn the next day for awhile after taking the full dose of Lyrica or Neurontin at night but they have said that it goes away over time.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply Amy. Do your legs feel "hard"? Mine feel like I imagine a runners do. Very hard, not flabby at all. Which is strange to me, as I'm overweight, and hard as I try to exercise, I don't. I just don't have the energy. I did Yoga recently for a week, then hurt so bad haven't done it since. But my body is not flabby at all. I have several overweight friends, and they even look "soft".
Avatar n tn so on...they helped me a lot. Im on Lyrica right now, its like a muscle relaxer, but its really for fibermialga patients for pain..i take it to help me sleep and it also helps with anxiety. Good luck..
Avatar m tn I did a search for lyrica and your poste came up but you didn't mention taking it?
5164523 tn?1366525959 I was taken off vicodin gradually because though it was helping pain..my dr. said lyrica was better for my pain...so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose..
Avatar f tn Well, this is a freaking miracle drug when it comes to DTs. I had Dts for 1/2 hour one night and that is IT!!!!!! I had no leg cramps, no twitches, nothing...I did, however, have the bathroom problem, but had NO cramps in my stomach. NOW, we all know what detoxing is like...you feel like you're dying. Lyrica should be on the market for detoxing. I have swelled some, that is one of the side affects...but hey, swelling or taking that many vics a day....which would I desire?
Avatar n tn it felt like i rana 100k marathon and couldnt handle moving a second longer, but yet i couldnt stop moving and kicking it was horrendous, i would try taking a higher dose of a benzo(like the valium) cuz that helps a ton with the leg cramps, spasms, kicks, and so on..yes requip could help or lyrica, but you would need to get that from a doctor and that would be harder if you already have everything from the thomas rrecipe, the valium if def.
Avatar m tn 7 months ago I was having a hard time sleeping and had some leg cramps that were keeping me up at night, so my doctor had me take a blood test which found that I’m type # 2 diabetes. I then took the medication proscribe to help get my Sugar under control. Then about a month after the blood test I started having REALLY bad leg pains.
Avatar f tn We have not had any luck with getting opiats for dad. He is hearing impaired so I talk a lot for him. Drs. make me feel like I am asking for myself. I am healthy (as far as I know) and don't take medication. I'm not afraid of addiction for my dad as he is 84.............so what if he does become addicted, if his paid is subsided. He gets pain from travel as he must be transported in an ambulance. Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn Leg cramps are a very common symptom of pregnancy I'm 30 weeks with my second boy and I have had them all the way through both pregnancys

669241 tn?1236264344 ve been told that it is not addictive. They use Lyrica for Fibromyalgia. For me, it did not work. I used it for about 3 months and had too many side effects and could not function at work with it and had to stop. But, it did work for my pain. Good luck!!!
Avatar f tn at one point I was wondering if I had MS. Anyway, I just started taking Lyrica for the Fibromyalgia and while it helps with pain, it really leaves me in a MAJOR fog. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same kind of problems with the drug.
529159 tn?1224991026 I stopped taking Lyrica and the cramps (and UC), for the most part subsided. Then about 10 months later, I started on Savella. The cramps and UC flared up again, as did the swelling (this time to the point of bruising under my eyes, at times), and even though I stopped taking the Savella after about a week and a half, both symptoms have continued. It has been been 8 months. Secondly, after reading some of these posts to my daughter, she asked if I had ever flown on a plane.
Avatar m tn I have leg pains and doctors advised me to take Lyrica (75mg) daily for 5 days along side with B complex. I read in lyrica.com and other sites relating to this medicine that it has many side effects. One of them raised concern to me and that is I should take caution if I plan to father a child. Reading further, some sites particularly said it has a potential to affect male fertility and give possible birth defects.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, I'm investigating Lyrica, and a switch over maybe, I'm almost at the max of Gabapentin, so am looking into other options. I have heard though that so many people GAIN lots of weight with Lyrica..... have you folks found that to be a problem?? My mother is 79 and was put on Lyrica..( not to sure why), but apparently gained 40 pounds in 7 weeks, and I for soure don't want that. Extra weight is also hard on us with MS........
