Lyrica for knee pain

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica for knee pain

lyrica

Avatar f tn Neurontin caused weight gain and I became allergic to lyrica as well as gaining weight. In the past two years after stopping lyrica due to laryngeal edema, I lost 20 lbs. I also started a gluten free diet and dropped another 30lbs. I do much better without that extra 50 lbs. I'd rather deal with the pain than deal with excessive weight. I'd like them to concentrate on the cause of the neuropathy, nothing they have made any attempt at.
Avatar m tn Then started having testicular pain and sharp pain in the rectum (Urologist diagnosed rectum pain as pelvic floor problem and physical therapy has been helping the rectum pain only). At first they suspected I had low testosterone but now my levels are 700 and all my blood tests are normal. I have had MRI of brain, thoracic, sacrum, and lumbar. Only thing that showed up was L5-S1 degenerative disk disease and slight S1 compression but neurologists said it can't cause these symptoms.
Avatar n tn i tried quitting before and the leg pain and anxiety were really bad. I now have Klonopin for the anxiety but what can I take to help with the body aches and leg pain? Thanks.. looking forward to getting clean.
Avatar f tn What I feel now and for the last month is extreme pain on both knee cap area - like crawling on broken glass - with great difficulty walking, bending the knees, and sometimes even while just sitting the pain just aches and sometimes stabs, with concurrent muscle cramping in the calves. This week my orthopedic is having me try using lidocaine patches on both knees and he started me on Neurotin - building up the doage over 3 weeks. He thinks it sounds like nerve pain.
Avatar f tn Question Are other experiencing abdominal pain? I have had constant abdominal pain for 13 months. It is a burning sensation that is about a level of a 6 (on 1-10 scale) when my bowels are almost empty (I often only drink water for a couple of days to get the pain down to that level. It is currently the level of an 8. It's so bad I wish I could just curl up into a ball & die, but I continue on for my 2 young kids. It is from the bottom of my ribs to my pelvis.
Avatar n tn I had my knee partiallly replaced on the inside of knee. Was in a lot of pain in bursa sac area and along incision. My ortho tried 3 injections and the nerve continued to intensely burn, twirl and I felt like something cold was running down the inside of my calf. I felt this 24-7. 1 month ago the Dr. reopened the incision and clipped the nerve. I am now experiencing not as intense burning but like their are more nerves being hot. Will this go away.?
Avatar f tn The nerve pain is HORRIBLE. I take Lyrica for pain but it is not helping. What can I do if anything?? Help!!!
Avatar f tn t been able to take Lyrica which was really the only thing that adequately controlled the pain for quite some time now. Pain meds do not help my nerve pain, never have. MaryCarmel I am curious to know if the lidoderm patch only work where the patch is directly applied? Would one patch help an entire leg? I have access to a pool...trouble is it's not heated and super cold. I have been told a hydrotherapy may help my back pain but it hasn't been suggested for my nerve pain.
Avatar f tn I had hypothalamic lacunar stroke on 01/09/09 with subsequent thalamic pain syndrome on my right side arm/hand & leg/foot/toes. Constant tingling/burning/tightness/numbness & cold my entire right side of body. After stroke, my doctor immediately put me on 75 mg Plavix same day. After putting up with syndrome for 4 weeks, I went to my neurologist Thursday, 02/05/09 & told him the pain was really getting to me. He prescribed Lyrica 75 mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn I experience weakness in the left leg as well as pain which varies between knee and ankle but is always present in the upper leg. Also experience low back pain with any movement. PT has been doing stretching and acupuncture as well as giving me at home exercises, and I am also taking lyrica. I'm on the fence about surgical intervention but I'm desperate to return to work. What would be the most successful treatment?
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
432223 tn?1206549025 I have not taken Neurontin, but I have recently started taking Lyrica for nerve pain after neck surgery. I feel the Lyrica was like a miracle for me. My pain was cut at least in half and my quality of life has improved dramatically. I'm taking almost no narcotics now, so I have my sharp mind back. I have not yet had any side effects from the Lyrica, but of course everyone is different.
Avatar f tn Hi. How are you? I have had knee surgery for osteoarthriis complicated by MRSA. I was very ill. Along with lots of antibiotics I've been on Advil to Tramadol for knee pain prior to the surgery, to Percocet post op to Dilaudid. currently. My last knee surgery was July12 Inotherwords I have a history of taking progressively stronger pain meds and opiates. After this last surgery I spent two weeks in an excellent rehab hospital.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar f tn Also I have heard of some people taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain, and Also you can take Neurontin/ Gabapentin for nerve pain (for the peripheral neuropathy) None of these have tylenol in them. Hope this helps and good job on being clean for 12 years!!
Avatar m tn Is there any treatment for idiopathic sensory peripherial neuropathy?(non diabetic) Is there any known cause?
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
Avatar f tn I had x-rays done and was told that my knee looked beautiful (structure-wise I guess) and that I probably had something called Femoral Pain Syndrome or Runner’s Knee. He recommended physical therapy, a knee brace, and said I should be fine in a few weeks. He also prescribed me a six-day dose down anti-inflammatory pack, even though I told him no swelling had ever occurred. I took my meds, went to physical therapy as instructed, and did my exercises religiously.
Avatar m tn My severe impairments include, degenerative disc and joint disease of the cervicolumbar spine with stenosis, internal derangement of my left knee, arthritis. My MRI revealed degenerative disc disease at L4-5, L5-S1, C3-4 and C4-5 with foraminal narrowing and joint hyper trophy at C5-6 as well as internal derangement of my left knee. To top it off I suffer with fibromyalgia and sciatica flare ups.
Avatar f tn I was on Neurontin but that did nothing so we are now arguing with my insurance company to pay for Lyrica. Has anyone had experience with Lyrica? One last question, I am unable to keep this problem foot down for any period of time - I have to haveit elevated. Riding in the car, it sits on the dashboard.....sitting in a chair, it is up onthe chair . My neuro said that that is not symptomatic to nerve damage.....so what the heck is it? Anyone else had it??
Avatar m tn The following comes and goes not more than a few seconds muscle spasms in my feet, calves tingle all the way up to my knee, twitching over my entire body when at rest including eye twitching, real ache in both arms(this has improved since being on Lyrica), both hands tingle and numb some, thumb hurts sometimes when using it and NOT at all other times and the other thumb is beginning to hurt (the thumb issue really is worrying me), slight numbness in my cheek, ear and part of my head will tingle,
Avatar m tn Is there a better doctor to go to for this?? I am currently seeing a knee surgeon and pain doctor as well as my general doctor with no real solution or help. I pray that I find a way to control or manage what ever it is that I have so I can take care of my kids and live my life. Thank you taking time to read this.
Avatar n tn My Husband is now 28 years old and suffers from chronic pain in his left knee and hip. The pain started in February of 2007 and quickly became so bad he needs a cane to walk. He has weakness in his leg and it sometimes "gives out".
