lyrica

Avatar m tn I cannot stand Lyrica! It makes me WAY spacey!! I have fibro and have had symptoms for 2 yrs now. It ***** BIG TIME!! I still take Lyrica because it's all I have. I still have pain, but now I'm spacey. I don't know how to ask my neurologist or any Dr. for vicodin. My old Dr. in another state used to prescribe vicodin for my pain and it worked well. I would take 1-4 a day. Sometimes none at all. It would all depend on my pain.
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
Avatar f tn Hi thks for your reply! I have not treated for the hep c yet. I have been trying to wait for the interferon free meds to come out next year. I have good blood tests and low enzymes but very high viral load. I have wondered if some of these joint pains might be from the hep c. I think I did acquire the fibro with the hep c, I read that it happens like that sometimes. I do have irritable bowel and other things with the effects of fibro.
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
Avatar f tn I was on Lyrica for some time and gained TOO much weight...making me feel worse and ache more....I need something without that side effect....have been on Cymbalta too ....will savella take the place of both?
Avatar n tn I was looking for an alternative and discovered Lyrica, but then I saw the warning about addictive behavior. I don't want anything that will cause that feeling to return ever again. Are there any fellow addicts out there who have had experience with Lyrica?
1380526 tn?1292839385 I have severe facial nerve pain on the right side that won't go away...had it on the left side before my Chairi Decompression in 2009. My GP prescribed Lyrica...Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Vicodin, etc weren't working...Been on the Lyrica for almost a week now and doesn't seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...
Avatar f tn I guess its good to gradually increase due to not knowing how it is going to affect you but when I increased the last time it was a 225mg increase at once and I was fine, the only thing bad about lyrica for me is the weight gain. Normally all I have to do is take one bite of food and it attaches itself to my body now all I have to do is look at it. But I am working on that.
Avatar f tn I was already on lyrica and I have found that if I've having a very bad day I can take an extra lyrica and it does help. It seems to help with the anxiety.
359574 tn?1328360424 Yes here is a Lyrica user who changed from Gabapentin which initially made me put on 14 pounds which I then worked very hard to lose. I have been on Lyrica since the summer and the weight is creeping up and I have put on another 7lbs...but think this may also have something to do with Christmas. I think that many drugs can affect our weight and that it is important to be aware of this, keep exercising when possible and watch your diet.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar m tn 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you all who suffer from this. I know quite a bit about neuropathy if I can help any one.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
1557088 tn?1294561557 Before this I tried Gabapentin, which I found helped but the side effects of it were too difficult for me to live with. As for the Lyrica, the thing it helps me most with is that it helps me sleep. I still get a lot of tingling in the hands, feet and it doesn't seem to help the pain all that much. This may be due to the fact that I can't take it during the day b/c I can't function with my kids as it causes me to be very drowsy.
Avatar m tn So taking lyrica isn't a substitute for hydrocodion in any way? None of the same substances.
10704670 tn?1412128715 ve been taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia for several years, and have been taking a low dosage of just 75 mg. once nightly. For over a month, now, I've been having achy joints in wrists, elbows, and feet -- along with ache behind my eyes, nervousness, and worst of all, "flu-like" feelings going throughout the body. I usually wake in the morning feeling much better, but by late afternoon or evening, all these sick feelings set in.
Avatar m tn I did a search for lyrica and your poste came up but you didn't mention taking it?
Avatar f tn I didn't either til I looked up a non benzo wit same effects online.
Avatar n tn Prescribed 20 mg prozac for 15 years because I suffered from panic attacks. During my 15th yr. at 20mg prozac I suffered a panic attack and Dr. upped my dose to 40 then 60mg. Did not have another panic attack, but could not overcome the anticipatory fear of having another attack. Dr. included 50 BID of Lyrica three weeks ago and I'm feeling normal again. Anyone have any experience with lyrica?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone I'm a 42yr old woman. Post 2 c-sections. Unsure how long I have had MS. Many brain lesions- no spinal lesions- newly taking Copaxone. Question Are other experiencing abdominal pain? I have had constant abdominal pain for 13 months. It is a burning sensation that is about a level of a 6 (on 1-10 scale) when my bowels are almost empty (I often only drink water for a couple of days to get the pain down to that level. It is currently the level of an 8.
1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
1218873 tn?1300091216 Twist, I am glad to hear that your doctor finally said to start the lyrica. for me the lyrica worked it just took a few days to get into my system to take the full effect. I hope this makes you feel better and you get the relief you deserve.
Avatar f tn at one point I was wondering if I had MS. Anyway, I just started taking Lyrica for the Fibromyalgia and while it helps with pain, it really leaves me in a MAJOR fog. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same kind of problems with the drug.
1655815 tn?1306930462 I TAKE LYRICA FOR MY BURNING SENSATIONS. BUT SINCE YOU ALREADY TAKE IT AND IT ISN'T HELPING WITH THE BURNING YOU SHOULD CONSULT YOUR NEURO TO SEE IF MAYBE YOU SHOULD INCREASE THE LYRICA OR HE/SHE CAN OFFER ANOTHER DRUG TO HELP. LIKE ALEX SAID THERE IS NO ONE DRUG THAT FITS ALL SITUATIONS. THIS IS DEFINATELY SOMETHING THAT YOUR NEURO SHOULD ADDRESS. I KNOW THAT I CAN DEAL WITH THE PAIN AND THE PINS AND NEEDLES BUT CAN NOT TOLERATE THE BURNING.
1088430 tn?1259159773 Hi! I'm hoping that anyone here who is taking Lyrica for nerve pain will be able to answer something for me...I'm newly on Lyrica (300mg daily) for chronic migraines/headaches and alot of burning that I've been having in my head. Neurologist gave Lyrica instead of Topamax b/c he said there's more than just the migraine issue going on b/c of all the burning. However, it's still officially undiagnosed at the present. I'm having very positive results so far.
