lyrica

Avatar f tn I am continuing to see my therapist but recognizing that I WILL be in some type of pain ...possibly for my whole life but that narcotics is not the answer for my chronic pain. I can however try other things that are non-medicinal to help. I am proud of myself, have finally made that lawyer appt to get my separation legal as was leaving myself open to much more heartache. It's been hard but I have good support and I don't need to be medicated to enjoy things.
1326416 tn?1370927001 It's actually both nerve and disc at this point! The doctors look at my most recent MRI and say it's a pinched nerve here and here, and then can also say it's a herniated disc here, and there! I'm on Lyrica for the nerve pain, but learned it has to build up in your system before it starts working as it should, so my fingers are crossed.. Neurontin had to many side effects for me to deal with. I have Soma for when spasms are an issue, but rarely take it anyway.
Avatar f tn The buzzing in your ears sounds exactly like my lyrica (gabapentin) withdrawals which were absolutely horrible, NOTHING like opiate withdrawals. Are you getting a colored tinted vision as well? Like seeing everything in yellow? Also thoughts in your head that doesn't seem to be like your own? As if you're in someone else's head or a complete strangers brain? There are other sites that describe lyrica or gabapentin withdrawal and the people going through an extremely difficult time.
335728 tn?1331414412 I will keep trying it and see if the side effects start to decrease as they say they should as my body gets used to it. I am supposed to color my hair this afternoon and make stew for my hubby for supper and get a shower and then go to a friends to play cards tonight...WISH ME LUCK! I guess I will go try my hair now and will let you know what happens. Last time the color only took on parts of my hair so I've been lookin' pretty patchy but I will try again!
Avatar f tn I also had an MRI done to rule out Mutilple Sclorosis. This pain is ROBBING me of my life!!!!! Please I beg for any help and advice!!!!
478403 tn?1266546009 30 PM it starts to take effect a hour to two after I take it. I sometimes go into a fog where it feels like I'm in a bubble listening to someone talk and I can't really comprehend what they are talking about. My tongue does not work right and I studder sometimes which I never did before. I can't come up with simple words to put in a sentence to finish it. My fingers, hands and feet feel like there is glass in them and I have a feeling of shaking but it's only inside.
1619123 tn?1298828488 What do I do for relief for my fybromyalgia. I can't take Lyrica. The side effects are not worth the relief. Pain pills such as perocet or vicadin do nothing for it. I am on epitol for my anxiety and it strangely backs off the pain I have 24/7 a bit zo I can tolerate it. What else should I do?
Avatar m tn So taking lyrica isn't a substitute for hydrocodion in any way? None of the same substances.
Avatar f tn You need to look for a therapist who works with hypochondria and / or O.C.D.. I suffer from health anxiety as well and sometimes taking the word of the docs is a battle in itself. You always default to the "what ifs." But like I said, you need to find a therapist who specializes in OCD. They can teach you how to break the cycle of the negative thoughts and to accept what you are being told. I know it's rough, especially when you had a false positive.
719785 tn?1232901518 Also, it could could also be abused by dependant individuals. I am on it too and it has been a life saver for my seizures. Does make you really sleepy so be careful adding other meds that cause drowsiness. Can also cause swelling in gums and hands and feet. so if that occurs, contact you doctor. I went to my dentist thinking I had a bad infection in my gum. Was put on Clindimyacin which is a very high potency drug.
Avatar n tn Iam on lyrica itis supposed to be the best drug for fibro For ibs spasmol aps ad pepermint crdialin worm water.
1380526 tn?1292839385 Hi I have been taking Lyrica for about 6 months now. The reasons I started it were a bit different, basically to relieve chronic muscle/joint pain and the twitches and to get a better sleep at night. However, I do get facial pain, I'm not sure if it is the same pain as you or not. Mine for the most part is just this constant achiness that makes me want to constantly rub my face and then sometimes I get these sharp sparks that really hurt but they are fast and don't last too long.
Avatar f tn I will let you know. I am on Lyrica and have been for about a year. I am 47 and also been on Topamax for my seizures as well. Too many other AEDs over the past 5 yrs to name . Did the Lyrica cause my "spot" on my MRI that wasn't there on my last mammogram in JUne of last year? Who knows? We will see what my biopsy reveals next Wed.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hi Kellic! Lyrica is truly the best medicine for FM. It gave me back my life for 9 fun months!!!! I felt so good during this time - it was like the "old" me was back, before I ever had fibromyalgia. I was so full of energy and life, but then I plateau-ed at 600mg (started out at 75mg) which is the max dose and now I'm back to being in a constant flare up and I'm on disability.
Avatar m tn I cannot stand Lyrica! It makes me WAY spacey!! I have fibro and have had symptoms for 2 yrs now. It ***** BIG TIME!! I still take Lyrica because it's all I have. I still have pain, but now I'm spacey. I don't know how to ask my neurologist or any Dr. for vicodin. My old Dr. in another state used to prescribe vicodin for my pain and it worked well. I would take 1-4 a day. Sometimes none at all. It would all depend on my pain.
359574 tn?1328360424 I am finishing my week of no medication for my TN after tapering off the Trileptal, and my neuro-opthalmalogist wants to start me on Lyrica. I am very concerned about gaining weight on it (if my insurance company even approves it.) I have been very carefully following WW and have lost 35 pounds since August. The Lyrica site says something like 10-16% of people do gain, so I wonder if board members have been experiencing this.
Avatar m tn 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you all who suffer from this. I know quite a bit about neuropathy if I can help any one.
3197167 tn?1348968606 Thanks for pointing out the info. I didn't realize what lyrica is. I may have stumbled across it without thinking. I will definitely follow the directions if it ever comes up. I can see many online that unwittingly used it for years, like I used my pills. If I had followed the directions on my pills, it wouldn't have ever been as bad as it was. Keeping that guard up.
Avatar n tn Prescribed 20 mg prozac for 15 years because I suffered from panic attacks. During my 15th yr. at 20mg prozac I suffered a panic attack and Dr. upped my dose to 40 then 60mg. Did not have another panic attack, but could not overcome the anticipatory fear of having another attack. Dr. included 50 BID of Lyrica three weeks ago and I'm feeling normal again. Anyone have any experience with lyrica?
Avatar f tn I've had 7 surgeries on my spine 2 of which were just like yours. And yes I've had this kind of pain and it sub sided in about 1-2 years after surgery. It takes time for everything to heal and calm down. Often time after a surgery like this and something a surgeon fails to mention I think because it doesn't always happen you can rupture above and below the site they operate on. You can also develop arthritis and inflammation above and below the site they operate on.
