lyrica

1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
Avatar f tn I have been on Savella for a while and for me, it was a Godsend! nothing else blocked the severe pain like this did! I can actually sit still for longer than 10 min., however, depending on the fronts that come through, I still have some pretty bad pain every now and then.
553995 tn?1332018840 but I am about to ask for it from my pdoc for bipolar disorder. It is supposed to help there as well. I asked him about it once and he agreed to give it once I stabilized....I hope this is what he means....he is a pharmacologist....so I tend to ask him questions and report back here...
1340994 tn?1374193977 s best for him to ask his doc if maybe some physical therapy could be ordered for him to ease the pain. I tried yoga for a while and had to quit because my spine is wrecked up and I managed to hurt it temporarily whilst doing those. Drinking extra water is good for the kidneys, by the way, and helps a person feel better in general.

520191 tn?1355635402 I have not wanted any medication for it other than codeine mixed with panadol for pain because I take so many medications already for the Bipolar but lately I have wondered if trying some medication to see if it increases me depressed mood. I also have gotten Aura Migraines since I was very young and I continue to get them. I have a feeling that all my pain issues are caused by 1 thing and if I can get to that issue then I might be able to fix it all.
Avatar n tn I have taken tramodol for five years for my neuropathy and I swear by it!
630344 tn?1280104983 Just a quick comment - I have fibro and am bipolar. The pdoc gave me Lyrica for mood swings and at 200mg a day about a week later I was no longer depressed ABD the burning pain in my legs and back were diminished quite a bit. I guess it works differently for everyone. I houp you find sonwthing that really works...hot baths really help me.
Avatar f tn Hi could anyone give me any views on carbamazepine for pain please?
765921 tn?1240405239 I'm so glad you found someone who was receptive to your health. It makes all the difference in the world. Everyone here knows that it's not in our heads...well it is with our CNS, but we aren't feeling the pain due to our mental health. We do have some information about Lyrica in our Health Pages. Also, if you use the 'search MedHelp' bar at the top of this page you can find other conversation regarding personal use of Lyrica.
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
Avatar f tn I switch to the vicodin from a drug prescribed for fibromyalgia called lyrica. I suffered bad side effects from the lyrica the most annoying my feet feeling like needles where being poked in them. I will get my daughter to stay with me and her brother for 3 days when I quit to ensure my son will continue to receive quality care. My quit day will be before next month! Thank you so much worried878 you are a God-send! Your post is the support and encouragement I needed.
Avatar f tn I was on Lyrica for some time and gained TOO much weight...making me feel worse and ache more....I need something without that side effect....have been on Cymbalta too ....will savella take the place of both?
Avatar n tn I was looking for an alternative and discovered Lyrica, but then I saw the warning about addictive behavior. I don't want anything that will cause that feeling to return ever again. Are there any fellow addicts out there who have had experience with Lyrica?
Avatar m tn Hey: Just for the record...Lyrica is used to treat nerve pain, eg. diabetes and after effects of herpes zoster (shingles) along with fibromyalgia. V.
1380526 tn?1292839385 I have severe facial nerve pain on the right side that won't go away...had it on the left side before my Chairi Decompression in 2009. My GP prescribed Lyrica...Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Vicodin, etc weren't working...Been on the Lyrica for almost a week now and doesn't seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...
Avatar n tn However I do know that in taking medications that are treated for seizures, bipolar disorder, ect. . .these meds alone can cause your EEG to come back Normal. However, it doesn't mean the seizures aren't there. I Was prescribed depakote for my seizures. If I were you, I would talk to your Neurologist about not taking meds before you take the EEG test. And see what outcome you haven then, Hope this was helpful!
Avatar f tn I guess its good to gradually increase due to not knowing how it is going to affect you but when I increased the last time it was a 225mg increase at once and I was fine, the only thing bad about lyrica for me is the weight gain. Normally all I have to do is take one bite of food and it attaches itself to my body now all I have to do is look at it. But I am working on that.
Avatar f tn I was already on lyrica and I have found that if I've having a very bad day I can take an extra lyrica and it does help. It seems to help with the anxiety.
359574 tn?1328360424 Yes here is a Lyrica user who changed from Gabapentin which initially made me put on 14 pounds which I then worked very hard to lose. I have been on Lyrica since the summer and the weight is creeping up and I have put on another 7lbs...but think this may also have something to do with Christmas. I think that many drugs can affect our weight and that it is important to be aware of this, keep exercising when possible and watch your diet.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar m tn 150 mg at night, and it has really helped alot with the pain. Im also on norco for my back / neck pain, but the lyrica has been a great help to me. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance. Good luck to you all who suffer from this. I know quite a bit about neuropathy if I can help any one.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
Avatar m tn So taking lyrica isn't a substitute for hydrocodion in any way? None of the same substances.
10704670 tn?1412128715 ve been taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia for several years, and have been taking a low dosage of just 75 mg. once nightly. For over a month, now, I've been having achy joints in wrists, elbows, and feet -- along with ache behind my eyes, nervousness, and worst of all, "flu-like" feelings going throughout the body. I usually wake in the morning feeling much better, but by late afternoon or evening, all these sick feelings set in.
Avatar f tn I take Lyrica for my fibromyalgia on a regular basis, was hospitalized and not detoxed medically was not given anything to help with the detox symptoms. Drank last night (10-30-10) 2 drinks and am a WRECK today (Halloween) going to a party tonight and taking my children trick or treating. I'm a mess. Im congested, shakey, tired, achey and sore (which is pretty much normal) and i have diarrhea and gas. I can't eat, i wana sleep but i have to stay up. I have the oddest sleeping patterns.
Avatar m tn I did a search for lyrica and your poste came up but you didn't mention taking it?
Avatar f tn I didn't either til I looked up a non benzo wit same effects online.
