Lyrica edema

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica edema

lyrica

Avatar n tn Since surgery he has been on Lyrica but it was changed to Neurontin 7 days ago as he was getting some edema in his feet and ankles. His last doses of Neurontin were yesterday because he has again developed the same edema but now it has extended to calves of both legs. The edema has not subsided, in fact, it is somewhat worse. His legs are not hot or red, but walking is more difficult because of the swelling. Is there another possible cause for the edema?
Avatar m tn Edit: I meant Lyrica caused a decrease in libido, weight gain, edema, since of well being gone, and more even thought I am on TRT
Avatar f tn Neurontin caused weight gain and I became allergic to lyrica as well as gaining weight. In the past two years after stopping lyrica due to laryngeal edema, I lost 20 lbs. I also started a gluten free diet and dropped another 30lbs. I do much better without that extra 50 lbs. I'd rather deal with the pain than deal with excessive weight. I'd like them to concentrate on the cause of the neuropathy, nothing they have made any attempt at.
10704670 tn?1412128715 I'm wondering if one can build up a "tolerance" to a Lyrica dosage? I've been taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia for several years, and have been taking a low dosage of just 75 mg. once nightly. For over a month, now, I've been having achy joints in wrists, elbows, and feet -- along with ache behind my eyes, nervousness, and worst of all, "flu-like" feelings going throughout the body.
Avatar f tn Loss of disk height and disk desiccation with endplate irregularity. Modic type 1 endplate edema. Central disk protrusion exerts minimal mass effect on bilateral transverse nerve roots. No signifian't spinal stenosis. Mild bilateral forminal narrowing. Mild facet arthropathy bilaterally. I have tingling and numbness in both legs. I have had this for 2 years. An epidural steroid injection helped the left leg for awhile but not the right leg. I still do my physio.
Avatar f tn I have been unable to take Lyrica due to side affects. I have fatigue, headaches, and joint pain often. I also have edema often in my feet and hands, but always thought I may just retain water. I never considered Lupus until the other day. I have had a bright red dry rash on my neck, upper chest near my collar bone and on my arms that does not go away with Hydrocortisone Cream or Benadryl. It will show up on my inner thighs at times too.
Avatar n tn May I ask if Lyrica can cause weight LOSS through making one 'feel' so good they can conquer all and set out to do just that. Over time, losing weight through going like a bee all day long. Feeling of elation I guess I would call it. Can Lyrica cause enlarged spleen and does enlarged spleen bulge when eating. I was put on Lyrica for Neuropathies, coincidentally, when all my gastric issues began.
Avatar n tn For the past year he is also getting tingling and numbness in his pinky and ring fingers on his left hand. He also has pitting edema in both feet. From the research I have done on the internet it sounds like Peripheral Neuropathy (he is also going in for a EMG study soon) but I cannot find much information on pitting edema with Peripheral Neuropathy. Does anybody else have pitting edema with PN?
779797 tn?1263618235 I have had lyrica cause my feet to swell (pitting edema) and cause some weight gain in the past, but never a prolonged dizziness. My best guess would be that it has something to do with quitting the xanax, even though you were on a relatively low dose. I would say that if it doesnt get better within a couple of days that you contact your doctor again about your concerns. Hope things start getting better for you, good luck and take care.
Avatar n tn I also was diagnosed for Fibro-and put on Lyrica-this was done by a pain management dr. The Lyrica caused edema in my feet, legs, hands, and face. Members on this forum asked if I had been to a Rheumatologist-I had not. I went to a Rheumatologist-diagnose: Not Fibromyalgia! My Neurologist also agreed with the Pain Management dr HE sent me to. So have you been to a Rheumatologist? Have you had the fifteen pressure points tested?
Avatar m tn Physical therapy will usually help a lot for stuff like bulging disks. If the disk pushes on a nerve in the area of the spine, it's going to hurt. I might suggest you also really tighten up your stomach muscles, it helps support the lower back tremendously. And I knew a person who had sciatica, from nerve pain radiating from low back down his leg, and he did yoga for a year or so, and it went away...which is a lot like doing physical therapy, so PT does help.
630344 tn?1280104983 This is my first day on Lyrica, and the doctor increased my citalopram! I was wondering if anyone else is on this med and if so did you notice dizziness? I have noticed a decrease in my pain, but a weird like disoriented feeling! I am so tired of pain I can deal with this for awhile, I just was wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and if so did they go away? So far I am willing to stick anything out as long as I can get some pain relief.
Avatar n tn If that is the case, as the edema resolves, so too should her symptoms. Lyrica may help her in the meanwhile especially after ~1 month of use or so. I will defer the implied question regarding Lyrica during breast feeding both to Lyrica's recommendations (that you've already read) and any further discuss between you and your neurologist. You, however, also mention your neurologist feels the diagnosis is most likely transverse myelitis.
Avatar f tn I have diabetic nueropathy i take the highest dose of lyrica (gabbapentin didnt work) i also take oxycodone (60mg a day) and fentanyl (75mg patch every 3 days) and get very little relief. Im bed ridden and can barely stand 4 a few seconds. The burning, electricity crackles and bee stinging is so bad at times i wish i could chop my feet off. It began in the tips of my toes 3 yrs ago and has now spread up my shins and calves.
719785 tn?1232901518 Hi I am on Lyrica for my FMS, but i'm not sure it's working. I'm only on 100mg 1 in morning and 1 at night. I was on Cymbalta and it wasn't really working. I felt like I was in the "fog" all day. Now with the Lyrica, I'm kind-of dizzy and ditzy and very irritable. I am under a lot of stress right now and I realize that triggers FMS, I am just really frustrated and tired of hurting, spending monet at Dr. office and at pharmacy.
Avatar m tn She also said the Lyrica was most likely the cause for the Edema and I need to stop taking it so I call my Lyrica prescriber and was told to come in today before stopping it. He wants to see the Edema and his nurse said it is dangerous to just stop but I already have and it's been two days now since my last 50mg dose and I think the swelling in my hands and feet is going down and I am actually feeling a little better since the pneumonia.
Avatar m tn t touch it, BUT the medicine Lyrica killed it overnight. It has to be started lower dose, then upped pretty significantly in the first three months, then maybe every few years. You might consider having them do another scan of your lower back... even an X-ray is better than nothing, probably a change has happened. Also, tightening your tummy muscles takes the strain off the low back, but not situps, rather just pull the stomach in tight for a few minutes, several times a day.
Avatar m tn For almost a yr a close 50+ year old female family member has had trouble with ONE arm and hand-- significant pain, limited range of motion without pain, weakness, atrophy, drawn up fingers in claw shape, prominent edema in the hand even after waking. (ie, not just when hand is hanging down for long periods) If she raised that arm with her other hand and let go, it would drop. She's been to many doctors of different types. She was diagnosed with trigger fingers, given steriod injections.
Avatar f tn //www.rxlist.com/lyrica-drug.htm). Talk to her doctor about this for proper management. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i just started lyrica yesterday...75mg...only taken it twice...could it ALREADY be helping my symptoms or is the "good feeling" just in my head?
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
