Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica cost

lyrica

1218873 tn?1300091216 If you have no drug coverage Lyrica will cost you about $350.00/mn. That for 3 tabs of 100mg/day ouch! Our FDA (food and drug association) is why. I have gotten my meds through Canada and they are so much cheaper. With the laws in place now here in the good ol' US of A it is being considered a narcotic. So you can't get Lyrica through the mail just like pain meds. The meds I got through Canada funny (well not real funny) most came from England or India.
Avatar f tn If given a choice without cost factors pros and cons of Gabapentin versus Lyrica for long standing neuopathy pain in my back, legs and feet from surgery over 10 years ago...Any advise appreciated..
210982 tn?1280983895 Hello! My Dr prescribed me Lyrica and I have been readin about this drug, but I can't seem to find anything telling me what is in it. Does anyone know the ingredients? I was told it was a non-narcotic drug but then the leaflet says that it can be addictive and do not stop immediately..blah,blah, blah...does anyone know what is in this stuff?
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
2107676 tn?1388973859 Hi Pat. just to let you know, I was prescribed Lyrica too, I know it is expensive but I have coverage, so it only cost me 20.00 but I found it never worked for me, and I have nerve pain ( nerve damage ), so the doctor gave me Gabapentin ( neurontin ) instead, to try,and I find it works much better than Lyrica and the cost is minimal, it cost me 4.00 for LOTS of them , sorry can't remember how many but it was a huge bottle.
680499 tn?1233851308 Toolmaker, I understand about the cost. I picked up a one month supply and it cost me 206 dollars. Ouch! I am hoping that it works with the pain, but praying that I do not gain any weight. I have always been thin and honestly I'm a little scared to put on any extra pounds. Thanks for your input, and I hope you are are doing well!
Avatar m tn Lyrica is an amazing drug. I tried every/any number of neuro drugs, none worked, or worked long enough. Lyrica does. I have a neuropathy damage in my R foot from a construction accident. Also in my R hand from a "complex fracture" (a cracker) of my radius. Later the plate actually became an issue, and I had it removed. That caused a whole new pile of hand pain... Lyrica keeps them 99.1% under control... yea even w/ insurance it's dam expensive, but wow does it work.
Avatar f tn I went to my PMP the 1st ofJanuary, 2012, to get my MSContin and Oxycodone scripts. He gave me a random UA test for MSContin, Oxycodone (for breakthrough pain), and Lyrica. This is the first drug test from him in 2-3 years. I had been taking less of my MSContin and Lyrica because of being in the"donut-hole" of Med.D script plan and , also trying to resolve co-pay of MSContin-generic back down to tier exception lower cost co-pay.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Well my insurance has decided that they won't pay for my Lyrica any longer. They have been paying for it for over 2 years now. The want me to take gabapentin, which I can't take because of side affects. My doctor is going to call and talk to the insurance company and hopefully he can get it covered, if not I don't know what I will do. Lyrica is the one med that keeps my pain at bay for the most part. :( Sorry had to vent.
Avatar n tn I have been stable on my meds., however my medical aid refused to cover the cost for the Lyrica, giving as a reason that they don't cover medication for Fibro-myalgia. I am now taking Epleptin 300mg, 1 2x daily. I feel weird. light-headed, dizzy, fatigued. Do you think I am having side effects from the Epleptin? Regards.
669241 tn?1236264344 Do any of yo take Lyrica for pain ? And how much do you take? Is it working at all for you?
Avatar n tn I tried Lyrica for fibromyalgia, I had blurred vision so severe. I wouldn't take it.
Avatar f tn Lost new bottle of lyrica 75mg. Do not know whatto do. Afraid Dr. Will think I abused or sold. I can not fill it for 30 days. Have ins.,but they will not repay. It cost over $220 . Have only been taking since Dec. 2013. So afraid of side effects. Is there any things i can do to help get thru?
Avatar f tn Recently, he has told me to have my PCP fill my Lyrica. PCP will not. This has cost me money, because I had to schedule appointments with PCP to discuss this. I don't understand why the doctors just don't communicate with one another. This has also caused me to miss time from work? I fear I will lose the one medication that helps my neuropathy. PCP sent me to a 2nd neurologist for a 2nd opinion. That 2nd neurologist made me feel uncomfortable. Live in a rural area; very few options.
Avatar f tn I am considered morbid obese, and have tried to get the weight under control for years to no avail and have considered surgery. Anyway, I am currently prescribed LYRICA 100mg 3X a day, and PERCOCET 7.5/325 3X a day. This regimine is helping with pain management but pain is still persistant in my lower back and upper buttock area radiating through the left leg. I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of SDT treatment for back pain? What is the cost?
511671 tn?1214148100 My Neuro put me on Neurontin in November 2007, first 100 mg (supposed to be 3x a day but I could only handle it 2x day), then working up to 300mg in January when I was still experiencing very annoying sensations. The last two months or so I have noticed I am very tired... sleepy... foggy and groggy. I was still only taking it twice a day. Told my doc there was just no way I could take it at mid day and still function at work.
Avatar f tn Thank you mummy :) I am not on the full dosage and yet I can really tell a difference but the past few days have been horrid. I am thinking perhaps it is the weather changing and other pain besides the spinal injury. The cost is very high and I'm working on trying to get it from Pfizer on a low cost or no cost plan. And good luck to you! Happymom we are in the same back boat! I would say yeah! but that would be rather stupid. lol.
669241 tn?1236264344 I'am taking lyrica , but they have mentioned opiaates.
Avatar f tn I just started Lyrica yesterday. the day before thanksgiging and I was taking gabapentin300mg. I have to wait and see if my Medicair part D pays for the lyrica. I had to pay out of pocket 28.00 for 6 pills. We are testing to see if the lyrica helps. I woke the other night to such sever numbness and pain in my legs and feet I was crying. I work out and have to walk everywhere due to I have lost a lot fo my vision and I am back in school studyingprelaw.
Avatar m tn I was put on Celexa by my personal physician and informed my Ortho of this new medication. I am a PTSD sufferer. My Ortho put Lyrica on top of it and I - after only two doses - became manic and had my boyfriend poised to call 911 for me so that I could be Baker Acted! I don't know about the specific effects of Lyrica, o ther than the fact that it certainly could have very easily cost me my life!!!
Avatar n tn I've had constant ATN for 8 years and have had no relief. I want to try Lrica since it seemed to work briefly (a doctor's sample for a week) but then the cost was crazy--about $100 a month! Anywone have any luck with surgery? I've tried every pain reliever, anti-convulsant, etc...out there andnothing works. It's very depressing and of course, impossible to work.....Any ideas?
Avatar f tn My rheumatologist was great and found a drug program for me to continue taking Lyrica as cost-effective as possible. My pain mgt dr, on the otherhand, won't give me refills unless I go in for an appt. I've been going there for several years, diligently attending my monthly appts and even saw her before my insurance ended. I'm so upset that there's no help for people who can't afford care but need medications...are all pain mgt doctors like this?!
195469 tn?1388322888 I know that others have posted about the drug Lyrica, but after trying to go through the search engine of MedHelp, I cannot for the life of me, find the posts. If there are any members that have had experience with Lyrica, would you be so kind as to let me know your thoughts and reactions to the drug? This is no better information I believe, that I can get, than from someone that has actually used the drug for pain. I appreciate it.
Avatar f tn Does anyone else out there have severe body aches---I mean the kind where you feel like you have the flu everyday? Why would you take or not take Lyrica? I really prefer to take a natural and holistic approach. I have not been diagnosed with FMS. Been dealing with this for one year in Oct. and still without a diagnosis. Many tests done and all are OK. Still being followed by neuro. Pain is almost unbearable.
2107676 tn?1388973859 Hi Pat i am so glad you posted and I am sorry you are having medical issues and the cost of Lyrica . In US Walgreens has a prescription card savings club you pay 20$ a year and it reduces your RX 50%-75% even more on some meds its a Godsend . I am not sure if Canada has this but check into it. I use it and the card paid for itself the first use. Also the Lyrica website maybe could give you help with options also.
Avatar f tn Previously I was taking lyrica. Lyrica seemed to affect my vision so I switched to Neurontin. I feel like I am in a blur everyday and all the events meld together, also when I work or go to school I feel like I am working through a fog. I am wondering if people take this kind of medication for years? And I have noticed that his medication has messed with my memory, what will that be like in the future? I am worried that it will affect me too much and really mess up my head in the future.
