Avatar n tn 12, because ibuprofen thins the blood,I need to get off it at least a week early so they prescribed lyrica , it does help on the constant pain but not quit as good as ibuprofen did for me
Avatar f tn Finally, before changing the dose I would recommend a full set of blood tests, blood pressure and resting heart rate, and weight. That gives you and your doctor a baseline for checking against in a couple of months time. Regards, OtisDaMan.
Avatar f tn This throws my balance off and I am not able to walk without cane, walker, or holding onto something. Should I see a Neurologist? Is Lyrica something that will help with the numbnes? I take blood pressure medicine, warfarin, anti- depressant and Nexium. Should I take Lyrica? Than you. This discussion is related to Numbness.
Avatar m tn Since you are taking two 50 mg doses maybe adjust when you take both of them by a few hours and see if that changes when you get the head pressure. Otherwise it could be some combination of the lyrica and something else you are doing in that time frame just before the onset of the head pressure. Maybe something you are eating or drinking for lunch (I would consider things that contain caffeine if you partake.) My head pressure seems to get worse as the evening progresses.
Avatar m tn i have major depressive disorder, dysthimic disorder, and panic disorder. i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.5/325 mg of norco 3 x daily. I've never had performance issues until a few days ago with a new relationship that i dont want to **** up because she is a very positive and awesome person. im freaking out about being 26 yrs old and having performance issues.
478403 tn?1266546009 I started weaning off of it around 3 weeks ago and a week into just backing off from 300mg to 225mg I started feeling exhausted and my blood pressure took a dive sending me to the doctors office. She said my system is not regulating my blood pressure like it should and she thinks it's the Lyrica causing it. She said to go from the 225mg to 150mg for a week and then to go to 75mg for a week and then stop.
Avatar f tn Just wanted to know if anyone else has this feeling. I have been having a pressure feeling in my head that comes and goes. I went to the ER because I am undiagnoised and just didn't feel right. They checked for a stroke and sent me home. Thank goodness it wasn't that. So now I am still experiencing the same pressure feeling although now I get extremely dizzy.
Avatar f tn I have taken Lyrica this year and just weaned myself off of it. I had too many of the listed side effects from it. I was going to do a study but afterwards was told that I was ineligible because I was already taking the med.
Avatar n tn I'm 27 years old. I'm on lyrica for pain. When I do get bad days when the barometer pressure affects me, my doctor has told me I'm allowed to take up to 4 spaced out throughout the day. Here are some suggestions to help with her ankle pain. 1. Orthotics- Will relieve pressure and distribute weight evenly 2. Make sure all her shoes have arches! It does make a difference 3. Compression hose or socks found in drugs stores 4.
Avatar f tn I have been on Imipramine for 6 years although not diagnosed with fibro. My neurologist put me on it for chronic tension headaches. But have also had fibro symptoms for 6 years. This medication kept the symptoms under control. I started having an increased heart rate and heart palpations about 3 months ago and went off the medication. My neurologist moved his office, so I went to a new family doctor. He still has not diagnosed me with fibro, and is running test.
Avatar m tn I had to stop Verapimil within 3 days of starting it due to the severe drop in my blood pressure. I was only taking the initial half dose of 120mg rather than the prescribed 240mg but I knew this would be a risk in trying it as my blood pressure is normally averaging 110/70. Verapimil is supposedly a wonderful calcium channel blocker in the reduction of migraines as well as reducing blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Thank you Mellie. I am so hoping I can absorb the side affects easily. I was told I would be very drowsy after taking them and so far that hasn't happened. I have very low blood pressure and in fact sometimes they can't find it, lol, so I don't think the high blood pressure will get me. Losing my concentration will be a bummer if I do when I get to full dosage. I just hope I will not be on it long enough to have any really bad things happen.
739536 tn?1265669359 More permanent side effects for me have included rapid weight gain which only stabilised with severe curtailing of diet - a tough call for someone normally quite thin. Cholesterol and blood pressure have gone up; I now need crestor for high cholesterol. Sedation has affected me fairly severely and consistently from 75 right up to 600mg/day; I can't say that it has been particularly worse at higher doses. The sedative effect requires two or three naps per day.
1131131 tn?1275108488 Hi, I recently was sent to the ER by my physican due to a reaction I was having from my celexa. I was having extreme anxiety, high blood pressure, sweating, tremors, shaking, etc. They had me stop the celexa. My doctor had me start Zoloft. I have been on it for six days and some of the same symptoms are starting again plus muscle tightness in the chest and throat. She told me to stop the zoloft. I asked if I should titrate it, but I was told to just stop it.
Avatar f tn She has been in pain going on 4 weeks. The dr did give her something but it not touching the pain. Her blood pressure is 210/110 with blood pressure medicine. I quess because of the pain. What should she ask the Md to give her for Pain? The Dr. said it attacked the nerves so thats why im on this forum.
Avatar f tn If you have high blood pressure, this medicine may not be the right fit even if it is controlled by blood pressure medications. And over time, NSAIDs increase blood pressure so that is a long term side effect that should be considered. If you are going to start a powerful NSAID like Celebrex, I would recommend that you purchase a home blood pressure monitoring kit to periodically check your bp while on this medication.
1100837 tn?1267668675 t do well with Lyrica and Methotrexate, I aske my Rheumy about this and he said he would not prescribe it to me because it messes with your blood pressure, so he put me on Cellcept for all my mix connective tissue disease. Cellcept seems to be better than anything I have tried. You should try all the meds your docotrs want because it does take alot of trials to find the correct cocktails.
Avatar f tn I am 35 year old mother.
Avatar f tn You have to go for reduction of your blood pressure/blood sugar/cholesterol whatever is the cause of stroke and then do physiotherapy. With lot of commitment and dedication from your end you will gain strength. Do not lose hope and get well soon bouncing!

Avatar n tn Regarding that pressure like pain at the back of your head, how is your blood pressure? This can be a manifestation of hypertension. Pain in this area can also be due to stress (work, school, domestic problems, etc). I suggest you continue your accupuncture sessions, have your blood pressure monitored (3-4x weekly) and take a break from stressful activities. I hope you get rid of that annoying pain soon! Regards...
Avatar f tn Before trying it, or one of the other anti-convulsants (eg gabapentin, carbamazepine, etc), get your doc to check your blood pressure, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, weight, blood cell shape and white cell count. That gives you a solid baseline for comparing against later on, ie when on the medication. Lyrica is not without side-effects; however, a large number of the side-effects fade with time. A few side-effects, on the other hand, seem to be constant, at least while on the lyrica.
217229 tn?1192762404 Other than this it was a wonder drug for me, I functioned quite well, able to do most anything, work, ski ect. After 10 years it caused my blood pressure to go too low, so had to switch to Flexeril 10 mg at bedtime. It also has worked well up until now, my body has gotten too used to it so I am not sleeping well now and it is not helping with the pain, but had no weight gain or bad side effects for all those years. Would definitely recommend this drug for Fybro sufferers! Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn So far it is NOt being managed and I still do not know if I have dicverticulitis or other serious abdominal problem since in 6 weeks NO ONE will ordfer a CAT SCAN despite repeated requests in three emergency rooms. MY M AIN CONCERN is I have an internal BLEED or PERIOTINESIS--because my blood pressure has been consistently LOW (under 90.60) and I have a borderline fever all of July (around 99- 99.5)...any ideas?
