lyrica

Avatar n tn Have any benefits been shown for sufferes of hemifacial spasm by taking lyrica? Is there any way to avoid weight gain while using lyrica?
Avatar f tn Hey Guys- I had a Dr. prescribe me some lyrica and gave me some free samples too. It's mainly an anti-seizure medication and also used for nerve pain. Alot of people use it for fibro-myalga. I would LOVE some relief from the aches and pains and cloudiness- but does anything think/know if this will help at all? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I am taking Lyrica and wondering about the side effects and if I should be going back to the doctor or just need to tough it out on longer to gain the benefits. I'm on 75mg at night. I am supposed to get to 75mg in the morning also, however I took 25mg in the morning and slept until 4pm in the afternoon! So I am not taking the morning dose. The side effects the last 2 days have almost become intolerable.
Avatar f tn It took a month for me to feel the benefits of Lyrica. It REALLY helped my fibro! But the first couple of weeks I had side effects so intense I could barely worked. That all went away. But do give the Lyrica time.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Well my insurance has decided that they won't pay for my Lyrica any longer. They have been paying for it for over 2 years now. The want me to take gabapentin, which I can't take because of side affects. My doctor is going to call and talk to the insurance company and hopefully he can get it covered, if not I don't know what I will do. Lyrica is the one med that keeps my pain at bay for the most part. :( Sorry had to vent.

483733 tn?1326798446 I was put on lyrica for my FM ans nerve damage due to my back. It has many side effects of which one is a feeling of being "high". That feeling lasted two weeks then went away. It helped reduce my pain but left me spacey and effected my memory. It affects everyone differently so u may find a different kind of relief. I had to stop lyrica while I awaited approval from my insurance. The second time around, it did nothing for my pain but left me loopy and spacey.
Avatar f tn I have had another child since and I was taken off lyrica. I has no problems with my 3rd pregnancy. I just wanted to google lyrica and miscarriage to see. My heart stopped when I seen your post. It might have been a hundred other things that caused it but I feel in my heart that me taking lyrica cause me to lose my child.. I was really drowsy and on a high dose when it happened.
Avatar f tn Actually there is no weight gain! That is one of the benefits of this medication b/c it is like cymbalta (sp?). For me there were some side effects, but they subsided after a week or so. I got a lot of hot flashes, but they are gone now.
1961084 tn?1325279027 Hey bfisch. Welcome to the forum! Should you be able to wean yourself off Lyrica and Cymbalta it would be great! (Funny one of my staff members was given free Lyrica recently, tried it for a couple weeks and gained a lot of weight while on a diet!. Obviously she stopped taking the Lyrica- she just told me this, embarrassed, yesterday) By using Muscle Ezze and the help of your Chiro or your Doctor it's doable, if it works for you. Did he give you the advanced V40? I have a friend D.C.
765921 tn?1240405239 The neuro wants to give me samples of Provigil, but I am not sure how that will affect my mood. Also, I am concerned about Lyrica, which was another drug he mentioned, but said it could make my fatigue worse. I guess when I get to the rhumatologist, they can help me out better, but I just want to function better with my family, so now I guess we will see where we go from here. Does anyone know much about the side effects personally of Provigil or Lyrica?
Avatar f tn At first I was given Vicodin (not really good for 48 weeks) then another doctor gave me Lyrica. At the time it was felt that the benefits outweighed the risks. My doctor said I had to do what ever I could to get through the tx so I could be free of the HCV. Many things are bad for the liver however I do think that it helped me. I am now SVR after treating with the Inf, Riba, Incivek. My doctor wanted me to try Cymbalta however I chose another anti depressant. Good luck to you Dee p.s.
Avatar f tn ve already applied for medicaid cash assistance and food card but my sister was telling me i should do some research because given my situation i should qualify for more benefits like free diapers and what not.
975514 tn?1324997938 I have been prescribed Lyrica and couldn't deal with the weight gain, bloat, and tiredness/laziness that it caused in me. Topamax which is used for severe Epilepsy and Migraines works just as well for Fibromyalgia and Neuropathic pain as Lyrica I have found.
1619123 tn?1298828488 What do I do for relief for my fybromyalgia. I can't take Lyrica. The side effects are not worth the relief. Pain pills such as perocet or vicadin do nothing for it. I am on epitol for my anxiety and it strangely backs off the pain I have 24/7 a bit zo I can tolerate it. What else should I do?
Avatar m tn Will swelling and itching go away by continuing to take Lyrica. I started in my hands and feet. I have been taking it a month and the symptoms are daily but are mild and seem less and less. Today, it is only swelling on the top of my ear with slight itching. Should it continue taking it, because i heard that discontinuing could cause a seizure.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i just started lyrica yesterday...75mg...only taken it twice...could it ALREADY be helping my symptoms or is the "good feeling" just in my head?
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
Avatar m tn Hi, Lyrica shouldn't be addictive at the low doses used for neuropathy. My grandmothers been on it or the other derivative, gabapentin, for years. Just take it at low doses. It works wonders for treating nerve pain though.
