If you wish to make a comment to be seen on the web when searched - and to be seen by our members please start your own thread. Click on "Ask a Question" it's simple to do. As for your comment, there are variables and this subject needs much more than a one-liner. It's complex.
757597 tn?1315801812 Right before I read your post, I've been reading the Tramadol withdrawl thread under EmilyPost posts. I really suggest you read it and see what other users have experienced. At my peak I was on both Cymbalta and Lyrica (for three years) plus eight Ultracet each day (for three years). I've discontinued both the Cymbalta and Lyrica (and this wasn't pretty!) and I am on the Ultracet "reduction plan" - down to two per day.
Avatar n tn If your Doctor is aware of the potential side effects of Tramadol and Maxalt and you are being closely monitored, then I apologize for alarming you. If not, you definitely need to talk to him/her about it. Should you decide to discontinue one of these drugs before speaking with your Doctor, the Maxalt would be the one. Don't stop taking the Tramadol. It has to be tapered down.
Avatar f tn So many people say NEVER take tramadol and Zoloft together and that they have ended up in the hospital after only taking 200 mg of tramadol while currently taking 100mg or less of Zoloft or another SSRI. Am I just being paranoid? I don't want to chance this syndrome. Please help me......I was never told of safe doses just told by doc if I had any of the symptoms get to the ER ASAP. Why take the chance? That is my feeling.
Avatar f tn Can I start the Lyrica while still on the patches and Tramadol and How can I reduce the Tramadol while continuing Fentayl with the Lyrica with minimalTramadol withdrawal symptoms.
1316053 tn?1279509497 I had a REALLY good sleep last night, and the only side effects I had in taking my first tablet last night were drowsiness (but not as bad as Endep and Lyrica), and slight nausea (which was bearable), and this morning, I feel more alert than normal. I have really high hopes that this will help me with anxiety and in turn, pain.
237152 tn?1206651036 i asked my dr when he first prescribed it to me and of course he said it was very safe and non addicting but they also say that bout tramadol too so......now im worried lol....
Avatar n tn Yes interactions can occur between SSRIs and Tramadol related to a rare condition called Serotonin Syndrome. Since you're not having any interactions, maybe your dosages are low enough not to be a problem. But I agree with the previous post, definitely discuss your concerns with your Pharmacist and contact your Doctor if you feel like you need more info.
Avatar f tn Hello marycarmal! Thanks for your comment! And yes I'm afraid for our youth as well. And yes, I'm looking for a new ob/gyn and pcp! I agree, how can a doctor that put you on the med be so uncaring about you and your unborn child! He wanted to put me on the Lyrica when I first started seeing him but, I didn't have any insurance at the time, and tramadol was suppose to be the "safe" and the non addictive alternative to the opiates, back then. And the ob/ gyn that I seen.....
Avatar f tn You could start to reduce the lyrica but start tapering the tramadol properly and then tapering the lyrica (I believe lyrica may take a bit more time and discomfort than the trams but that's just my personal opinion). How much do you take how often and since how long?
Avatar f tn 5 years prior to that I was diagnosed with MS. which is controlled well and I still work full time. Problem is I have taken for many years 2 Norco at night due to spine pain from the MS, as the Lyrica makes me so "groggy" the next day. My question is what would be a good pain medication substitute that will not cause any unnecessary damage?
Avatar f tn For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...
968560 tn?1307451498 Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?
Avatar m tn need to do own research) i stopped all med for 48 hrs and tramadol and prozac permantenly and immediatly began feeling better...i called my dr when i figured out what was wrong and her nurse said she (the doc) doesn't think i had that...i left her and every time i mention this story to docs i encounter they are blown away no-one helped me...
Avatar f tn You would need to ask your prescriber or your pharmacist about the potential for interaction. I honestly don’t know. I would not advise taking suboxone after any opioid type pain medication unless you have cleared it with your doctor.
Avatar m tn I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been on lyrica for about 6 months now and it does help me some. I would ask my Pharmasist about any interactions between them. When you put in the script they should know right away if there are any comlpications with taking both drugs. It is part of the system that they use, also the Pharm should also know and be able to answer any qustions that you have. Hope that you can get some pain relief.
Avatar m tn However my concern is that I have been weaning off the Xanax slowly and steady for about 55 days, and the Tramadol and Vicodin I practically didn't use them since 19 days ago but I'm having since the first week and have become more intense now muscle cramps, at first they were on some points arount my scapula bones in my back, there were formed some "knots" painful and constant, very painful to the touch and frequent migraines.
Avatar m tn Hello Papagarv1, Welcome. Sorry I am late in responding to your question. You've asked for no judgement - you won't get that from me. Very sadly ppl in chronic pain have been driven to all kinds sources to treat it. I don't condone buying opiates off the street, especially such a complex med like Methadone. Her risks are very very high! Please do your research. My concern is for her physical safety. Now I'll shut up and answer your question.
Avatar f tn I was on 400 Mg Tramadol for 8 months and had to stop cold due to Seritonin issues (Seritonin syndrome) Withdrawal was hell. I have been off it for 10 Weeks and my Doctor just put me on amytriptaline for pain. Can anyone tell me if, once you have seritonine problems can you take other seritonine affecting meds? I am starting to have the same side effects, nightmares, confusion, anxiety, flushing and I'm on a low dose.
Avatar n tn I am taking lyrica at the moment. Is it safe to have 5HTP triptophan and L-tyrosine with lyrica ? Thanks a lot for your help. Pedro.
Avatar m tn I am now prescribed .5mg xanax 2times a day 20 mg of valium at bed time along with lexapro and trazadone (if needed). I am also prescribed 100mg neurontin 3 times per day in between the xanax to help with withdrawal symptoms. Is this a safe cocktail and is it hard to get off neurontin?
Avatar n tn Im in the same boat, i have fibromyalgia, and a ruptured disc in my back that i have to have surgery on in the near future, and i just got off methadone 40 days ago and i was going through serious wd,s AND back pain, my dr. gave me lyrica which helps alot. dont take the trams because your swithing one addicting drug for another and eventually u will have to withdraw from that too.
Avatar f tn A few months before I started HCV tx I started taking Lyrica and Tramadol for the body pains I was having; they are prescribed by my pain management dr. After researching Tramadol last week and seeing its sx I was wondering if it was contributing to the hallucinations I was having with the interferon and ribavirin. I asked the doctor if there was any other pain med I could take after doing the research and scaring myself silly and was told no.
