lyrica

10704670 tn?1412128715 ve been taking Lyrica for fibromyalgia for several years, and have been taking a low dosage of just 75 mg. once nightly. For over a month, now, I've been having achy joints in wrists, elbows, and feet -- along with ache behind my eyes, nervousness, and worst of all, "flu-like" feelings going throughout the body. I usually wake in the morning feeling much better, but by late afternoon or evening, all these sick feelings set in.
Avatar f tn This is a lot of drugs to me! Does anyone else take these? I ask the nurse why the thyroid med and she said because the tx would affect that. Cymbalta just because I needed it and is true. Lyrica because of some nerve damage from cryoglobulima. And the rest is history.
602504 tn?1219984096 I feel like this has to be happening to someone else because in October I went through thyroid cancer having to have my thyroid completely removed. I have been in and out of wheel chairs, walkers, canes and bedrest a good part of my adult life. I am looking a light at the end of the tunnel. There has to be a medication out there to help with this pain. I cannot continue to go on everyday with this much longer.
1968463 tn?1374757813 I have experience this weight gain also. I am 16mths post op and I have gained 15 pds. I questioned this and my husband stated to me which is true recovering from surgery I wasn't to active, just layed and sat a lot. Also it could be your med's your on. The doc had me on Lyrica and 1 of the side effects with that is 7 percent weight gain. I'm now off the lyrica and I have lost 5 of the pds. So ask your dr if it could be your med's.
Avatar f tn Your post caught my eye, but I am on Gabapentin and not on Lyrica. I have just noticed that I appear to have lost hair recently and have developed a bit of a receding hair line. I just thought this was probably my age (47) but am now wondering if there is any link to medication. Will have to ask neuro at next visit.

458072 tn?1291415186 I feel aggrivated every day. I start out ok... but as the day goes on I can't control it. It's only 10:30 am here, and I'm already on edge. Bad thing is I have a job interview in an hour, and I'm in a FOUL mood. I really, really hate all this. I almost feel like just going back to taking Zoloft, and forgetting I have hypo. I felt so much better! That was just 4 months ago! Stopping it and trying to fix my thyroid has just screwed up my whole life.
736040 tn?1257436457 Endo put me on meds and i started up again and for a good 2-3 months i was regular. My levels were good although I was still having some fatigue so he bumped me up from 25 to 50mg. Unfrotunatley about a month or so after my recheck I stopped having my menstrual cycle again. he did a recheck on my levels and they were great! To date i have not had a menstrual cycle for a good 3-4 months. My question is...if my thyroid levels are good, then why wouldnt my menstrual cycle be normal?
773755 tn?1328119777 These include Neurontin and Lyrica. Nobody really knows how these medications treat the symptoms (particularly the aches and pains) of fibromyalgia. These medications can help some individuals with fibromyalgia. But these drugs also have serious side effects. Lyrica, the first FDA-approved drug to treat fibromyalgia, has been associated with severe allergic reactions that can cause angioedema — swelling of the throat, head, and neck, resulting in airway compromise.
462570 tn?1273632977 I am on Lyrica.. The side effects off the start weren't very much fun.. Extremely tired and very dizzy(light headed).. The side effects seem to come and go. Lyrica has helped me a bit so I figure take the good with the bad. My rheumatologist upped my dosage so I'm dealing with the wonderful effects again..I am also on Amitriptyline at bedtime.. It's too help me relax so I can sleep. I might as well be taking a flintstone vitamin because it doesn't work..
999780 tn?1263671971 I also have IBS with constipation,I.C.,under active thyroid and adrenal fatigued. My PCP will not give me anything for the thyroid and adrenal issues as she thinks there is nothing wrong with me.I have 2 little boys aged 4 and 5yrs. I am constantly trying to keep myself awake. My 5 yr is already wearing ankle braces for pronation and stability issues. So both him and I are going to the gen for a dx. I asked my PCP for a referral so now she will have to believe me.
Avatar m tn This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.
740593 tn?1232488304 My thyroid is fine. And thanks for the support krikket! I know from experience that when I am at work I have no problems with performing. I can multitask and do all I have to. It is when I am home and I down shift that I come unglued. I guess the need to concentrate at work keep me focused and going forward. I've always loved to work and it is a big part of my self esteem. My concern right now is sitting in those chairs for 14 hours.

Avatar m tn My Dr was going to prescribe me lyrica for shingles pain but I was hesitant and refused at the time. I did some research on it when I got home and actually found that lyrica is approved in eroupe for anxiety. I also read reviews of people taking it for other things and found that it helped with their anxiety. Glad to know it is working for you. What dosage are you on?Where your prescribed the lyrcia for anxiety or something else? Hope it continues to help you.
Avatar n tn Since both conditions share similar symptoms, can an expert tell me if one can have both conditions at the same time, both are more or less the same, are interrelated... or if one has an elevated TSH, this is only a question of the thyroid gland and other endocrine " partners " ??? I appreciate all your possible answer.
Avatar f tn My symptoms are that I have pain that stays in my right arm and hurts on and off in different places on my body, and fatigue like I have no energy, and my heart feels like it's jumping. I feel like crying sometimes cause of the pain and feeling tired. I have been to many doctors and hear everything from fibromyalgia to hormonal. My current dr says it could be from sleep apnea (which I'm being treated for)), he just tested my vitd and b12 levels because they have been low in the past.
