216046 tn?1193943404 My question is, has anyone heard of lyrica causing withdrawal symptoms when taken w/methadone? I was given Tramadol(Ultram) w/ methadone and thought I was going to die with the interaction it caused!!!
478403 tn?1266546009 Hi, I take 75mg when needed for RLS and neuropothy, and it lays me out! I mean, a full on sleep. I was prescribed 75mg twice a day, but just couldnt take it and even come close to functioning. I keep it around now to help with W/D's and use it when i get spastic pain in my feet. It works great for that. Im sorry, but I dont get w/d from Lyrica and cant really help you with kinda dose. Im a big guy too, 6'2" and 220 pounds and that stuff layes me out!
Avatar m tn There are no opiates that are easy to come off of after long term use. Even Ultram can make you become dependent and has risk of seizures if taken in large amounts or stopped suddenly. Anything like this would need to be tapered down gradually after long term use so there will not be horrible wd's. The only pain relievers that are non-opiate and nonaddictive are otc meds like Ibuprophen, acetaminophen, and naproxen. There are no good answers when something stronger than an otc is needed.
Avatar f tn Absolutely. I took it (I was prescribed it) when I was going thru a heavy oxycodone withdrawal and it stopped all my withdrawals within 2 hours. I seriously, felt great. I was prescribed a high dose of Lyrica and didn't take it as I didn't believe it would work. (I wanted opiates and was really mad that my doctor wouldn't prescribe them). Anyway, I had heard it worked for opiate withdrawals so I decided to try it and was amazed at how it took away the sweats and everything.
Avatar m tn t want to be taken lyrica and then when the opiate withdrawals are better/gone and I decide to quit taking the lyrica the opiate withdrawals come back and it's like opiate withdrawals all over again (like day 1). I know lyrica isn't a narcotic and isn't a big habit former unless it's really abused, but I just want to know that lyrica and hydrocodien have none of the same ingredients or substances and it won't be like me still taking the hydrocodien??
7868395 tn?1394907293 I have been on lycria for about four yrs now but my ins company is not wanting to pay for it I been off it for over a week and I been so sick all I do is lay and sleep I have no energy at all I want to know if that is some of the withdraws also been sick to my stomach besides the pinching thru my feet and hands, I went today and bought 4 pills and with then a hour I stared feeling better. My question is this withdraws from not taking the meds I take it two times a day.
Avatar m tn m taking is lyrica b-12 vitamin-c and veggie pills.. I eat chicken broth and grapes bananas and apples and progressive soup and recently tuna on cracker... I drink nothing but water Gatorade and this V8 fusion juice. Days 6 and 7 and 8 were horrible no sleep at all so that why I took a triazolam (I was about to blow my brains out if I went 4 days without sleep) though I don't have any anymore so I won't be taking it again back to just the lyrica and lyrica only..
Avatar n tn The pharmacist told me it had less side effects than Lyrica and it was safer than Lyrica as well. She said neurontin had been around awhile and that Lyrica was the new drug as far as treating nerve pain. I started the Neurontin in August of 07 and I have had no problems at all. ( Thank GOD ). It doesn't even make me sleepy. It's also not hard on the liver as well. Thanks Susan..
17365575 tn?1456040685 I've been on Lyrica for several years do to nerve pain, and the withdrawal when I've gone off is brutal.

Avatar f tn My doctor gave me a script about 3 ms to use for occaisional insomnia and for the chest pain and palps assoc with the lyrica w/d. (i did have a cardiac work up wich was normal) I still have most of that script. second question--did I do the right thing by taking the ativan. I read last night on a post that 1 mg of ativan=10mg of valium. I just want to be off this stuff.
1985289 tn?1328579594 my question is the dr. prescribed lyrica for me and yesterday when i took it, i was feeling pretty weird and didn't really have the feeling of needing to take my methadone (35mg.), but i took it. Today i thought i might try not to take it. has anyone ever heard of lyrica for methadone withdrawel. it is very expensive at 300.00 a month, but i pay 420.00 month for the clininc. if anyone has heard is lyrica addciting?
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed lyrica? I have, and have had great results with it for nerve pain in my right arm and hand. Opinions, please. My two other posts with more description vanished, so I will leave with this lol.
Avatar n tn Lyrica and LDN are fine to take together. It worked for me! Its only the narcotics, opiate based drugs, immunosuppressant DMDs, and steroids in higher than physiologic doses that are out.
Avatar m tn I very seldom use more, I took the first Lyrica last night and feel pretty sluggish today. Has anyone on here taken this and had any luck with it? I have read some bad things about it which I guess all of these pain killers have bad side effects. I just want to know has it helped anyone cut back on the other pain killers.
901222 tn?1399142874 I was in the same boat and I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me. I got on lyrica 100mg. It's non narcotic and helps withdrawal. I think it's actually for fibromyalgia or nerve pain not really sure but I got shot in the face and jumped a year later and they hit me in the jaw with a sledge hammer and it works good for me.
1689696 tn?1305819097 I want to stop taking the vicodin but I have severe sleep and restless leg problems when doing this!? I have 20 left will the patch and lyrica help with these problems and if so how should I do this? I am under a docs care and have an apt to see a pain management doc. I have very bad proven back problem. I just don't like the side affects of the vicodin and have been taking them off and on for about 4+ years. Thanks to anyone who responds!!
986593 tn?1283532211 I was on Cymbalta and stopped taking it. It is Like Lyrica and withdrawal is horrible. These medications are worse than opiates and benzos put together.
Avatar f tn I was really depressed coming off of the Lyrica and always had a rough time with depression during oxy withdrawal. The combo can make it brutal. I don't know what is still making me so sick. I have read the Lyrica withdrawal can go on forever but I am sure the Effexor is creating havoc too. I am taking Omega 3 for the brain zaps and that seems to help. Imodium, gatorade helping too. I forgot about gravol. It really helps with nausea and used to make me sleepy too.
Avatar m tn 5 of klonopin same time I took lyrica and a hit of sticky green at night.
Avatar f tn While I was still detoxing I took Neurontin ( Gabapentin ) and that seemed to help. After I ran out of the Neurontin I took some Lyrica I had at home. I only took it at night hoping it would help with the RLS. I'm not sure about this, but I suspect that RLS, overall restlessness, and the heavyness/tingling are related. You need a RX to get the Neurontin, Hope this helps.
5549258 tn?1449083082 I went off that today and when my legs wake me up on fire at night, i take 2 lyrica.. lyrica also makes me sick so i wont be on that long. thanks for your support.
Avatar m tn I am not a Dr or anything and I have never taken my medication other then how prescribed but when I first started taking the Lyrica it made me very VERY tired and sluggish. I didnt take any of my other pain pills that day so maybe it is good for withdrawal it makes you not need anything else? I dunno.. only Drs know what is going on with meds, sometimes not even them lol But I think you will do fine if you just take small amounts. I hope these things are prescribed to only you...
Avatar f tn My question is can someone with opiate dependence take the fentanyl patch? Has anyone been in this situation! Someone had mentioned using Suboxone in opiate withdrawal and I always say it is a wonder drug!! I have tried getting off pills cold turkey and it never worked. I have now been pill free since January 2011 and I know that I have the Suboxone to thank for that. I was in detox for 12 days while on, but felt Fantasic about an hour after starting.
