Avatar m tn At first I thought it was over working out, and I slowed the workouts but the pain got worst. In addition I started to have joint and bone pain in my knees, legs, hips, shoulders. It has become so bad that if I just cut the grass I suffer for days with serious pain in my muscles and joints. I am on high blood pressure medication, lisinopril 7.5 mgs for about a year. I am also on clonazepam for about 14 years at 0.5 three times a day, and colchicine at 0.

This drug is used to treat fibromyalgia ...
Avatar f tn Anyone else with FM have swelling in their hands in the morning along with severe joint pain? I was diagnosed with FM in 2006. Just recently I've started having a lot of swelling in my hands along with severe pain in the joints of my fingers and wrists as well as my hips, knees, etc. In the summer my hands would swell but go down but I can't even wear my engagement rings now and the only time that has happened is when I've been been pregnant.
387767 tn?1345872027 Ear pain, Jaw pain and Headaches can be due to TMJ ( Tempromandibular Joint Dysfunction). TMJ is common in patients with Fibromyalgia. Do you grind /clench your teeth at night? Do you mostly get this pain after waking up from sleep? Then most likely it's TMJ. Also, If your dentist mentions that you have some teeth-wear ( Attrition), then you are most likely grinding/clenching your teeth at night. Though I don't know what the reason could be for your throat closing up...
Avatar n tn My symptoms have been low/absent period all my life, irritability, intolerance to heat and excess sweat all my life, joint pain started after first baby 7 years ago and got progressively worse, heart palpatations comes and goes 6 mos now, unexplained weight gain, increased appetite. I also have very low Vit D levels. She said it could be post partum hyperthyroid since I just had a baby. She is 3 mos old. If that is the case then shouldn't we still investigate the joint pain?
Avatar f tn I have been having a lot of pain in my legs, back, hands and arms. Ibprofen and other things don't seem to help it. I do not know how to make if feel better. Some of it is in the muscles that are extremely tight and others seem like joint pain. Just wondering. My doctors won't prescribe anything else. I have tried Lyrica and a bunch of arthritis meds. Again I am undiagnosed so they are also trying to figure out what I have.
Avatar f tn I would like you to give me your opinion on the lab result: Anti-inuclear - positive Titre 1:160 Pattern Homogenous Double strand DNA ab 3.9 ENA< 20(negative) I have permanent pain for years, especially thigh pain. A deep burning cold pain with electric shocks. Also extreme buttock pain. I always feel very cold. The hair on my thighs stopped growing about a year ago. I feel flu like without temperature.
1029507 tn?1287714315 I was on Neurontin and then Lyrica for nerve pain while undiagnosed. I've taken NSAIDs (both OTC and Rx) which at best take the edge off of my joint pain. I haven't had pain that is both bad and persistent enough to make me consider other options. While I've had periods of more intense pain, they have thankfully been relatively brief. My best (untrained lay-person!) advice is to be open with your doc about the type and severity of pain so that they can do their best to help.
Avatar m tn I agree with others you need to see a rhemy. I too had joint pain after tx and the flare-ups got worse. Hard to get up and in pain in the morning, not sleeping etc. My rhemy watched me for about a year before he decided I had fibromyalgia, obviously a sx of tx. So now I have 2 awful sx for life. I am taking Lyrica now for the pain and it works great for the pain. It is for nerve pain and has it's sx, but so far I like it.
1380526 tn?1292839385 The reasons I started it were a bit different, basically to relieve chronic muscle/joint pain and the twitches and to get a better sleep at night. However, I do get facial pain, I'm not sure if it is the same pain as you or not. Mine for the most part is just this constant achiness that makes me want to constantly rub my face and then sometimes I get these sharp sparks that really hurt but they are fast and don't last too long.
1171018 tn?1263352159 In July I started weening off of it. I was completely off by Oct.This is when sharp pain started like nerve pain in every joint radiation and seemed to proceeed to the next joint. This only happened when I was (trying) to sleep or quiet for awhile in a chair ect. At first it lasted about 1hr in the morning after I started moving around. They put me on xanax to help me sleep and Lyrica that seems to help.
Avatar n tn i had chemotherapy in 2006. in 2007 about 3 months after final treatment, i started getting joint pain, beginning in my fingers. some times all my joints hurt, especially at night. gabapentin helps some, as does lyrica. I still have too much pain with the neurontin. tried a higher dose of lyrica and just went to sleep, couldn't function. the joint pain has gotten progressivdely worse over the last 14 months. i would think it would be getting better, not worse.
470168 tn?1237471245 Some of my continual muscle pain and spasms have gone and so has the cognitive fog. In my situation it also turned out I am also intolerant to gluten, but many are just unable to process the simple carbohydrates.
Avatar m tn ve been treated by many of the physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, neuro surgeons but with no one, I could get rid of this killing pain which seems like that my body nerves stretch and I feel severe pain in my both arms, which comes from top of neck and goes down towards legs with back. I've taken so many medicines and injections so far but none of them has given me permanent relief. I have also tested LFT,CSR,Neck X-rays, all of them look normal. The medicines are: i.Tab. neuberol forte ii.
Avatar f tn m on lyrica 607 4ep pd Or amorphous 4G pd Dhc 20th pd Thyroxine 10 g pd I have asked my doctor to put me on top a max and he said I have to go back to pain clinic ,do they have the right to prescribe them for me ?
Avatar f tn Well she weighed 125lbs when she started and 15 months later she weighs 197lb and likes the Lyrica for her pain but is now having severe joint pain , etc from the weight gain. I already have a metabolic disorder and cannot gain weight. Its very, very hard for me to lose weight. Anyway, I know it can cause vision problems, can make you high at times, bad headaches, etc.
Avatar m tn (Another cause of neuropathy is vitamin B12 deficiency). Neuropathic pain can be diagnosed by history and physical, and also may include an examination called EMG/NCS which assesses the condition of your nerves. This is performed at most neurology clinics. Additionally, blood tests are indicated to find the etiology of the neuropathic pain. The most common cause of neuropathy is diabetes; thus, this should always be tested in the workup.
Avatar f tn I am now on lyrica and opiates..I also have facet joint arthritis and having radiofrequency ablation for sacral lower back area helped some of my nerve issues.. Some people get relief with capsicum...a prescription lotion..that causes burning sensation which subsides with use and helps nerve pain... Taking alpha lipoic acid, thiamine, B6 and B12 helps some people also Don't mean to write a book.... In my honest opinion....

798555 tn?1292787551 Now that I think about it,I haven't heard one complaint in several months from my daughter (gluten free now). I just reduced her Nature-Throid last week by 1/2 grain for the first time, as labs came in a little too high (slightly over range with a slightly climbing reverse t3). She's been on 3 grains for 9 months now, and joint and muscle pain has gotten better and better over this time, however, it's not been until the change in our diet that the complaints went away all together.
Avatar n tn It depends on what your pain is from. I have RSD and nerve pain, along with severe joint pain. My meds have always helped the deep joint pain but nothing much has helped my joint pain, and I have tried almost everything there is. Talk with your doctor about maybe trying a different long-acting med. We're all different and what works for one, may not work for another. There are several long-acting meds that you could try and see if they work better than the OxyContin.
Avatar f tn I have only *recently* been diagnosed with Fibro (Jan 21, 2008) and have been put on both Cymbalta and Lyrica... I find the side effects for Lyrica almost debilitating and I'm unsure if it's really going to help (doc put me on a VERY low dose to begin with, and even that is terminally messing up my system. I feel chronically stoned, now.) Anyways, I guess that's all a bit off topic.
Avatar n tn Legs are driving me crazy and Md perscribed lyrica. Looks as if it has lots of side affects and I am leerie to try it. Has anyone used lyrica for MS and what results have you had?
773646 tn?1239225659 I have MS, Fibromyalgia and Transverse Myelitis and have a constant buzzing and nerve pain in my hands and feet and pelvic area and for the nerve pain I highly recommend Lyrica as it works really well for me! Not only is it listed for nerve pain but for Fibromyalgia as well. From experience I can say the Lyrica will turn off the buzzing in the neck and spine in a short period of time. It doesn't work for everyone, but its been a lifesaver for me even at the minimal doses I take.
Avatar f tn The good news is that I found a drug to help all those joint and muscle pains. i am taking Lyrica and it works really well for me. I tried Neurontin, which drove me nutz. But I am finally getting my life back without the pain of Fibromyalgia. Hope you can do the same!
