Does it mean I will never be able to father a child? He also said I urgently needed a Varicocelectomy and later on an Hemorrhoidectomy. 1 Could there be any relationship between the two health problems. 2. Could the Varicocelectomy really have an effect on my sperm count that was very low 400 000 as opposed to atleas 20miliion required?. I know of one married man, in his early sixties now, that was born with a single testicle, and he has had no problem living, working, going to Viet Nam in the Army, fathering a child, and so on. It is advised that if one wants to father a child while on Lyrica, to discuss this with your physician. Find out what may be involved first. It may be that he would need to discontinue the medication until you become pregnant. I can understand your concern and would certainly want to know the specifics about the effects it could have on the fetus.

I have a one year old boy and was not planning for a baby for another one to one and a half year. I wanted to ask if i should immediately plan for another child in any case. If my serem result are fine , is there still a chance of having bad serem count in coming times due to the current mild varicocile. And if serem tests are not fine , can i hold the varicocelectomy till a year so i get it near to when i plan a baby.
they sent me for a ultrasound and I had a missed miscarriage and had to have a dnc. I have had another child since and I was taken off lyrica. I has no problems with my 3rd pregnancy. I just wanted to google lyrica and miscarriage to see. My heart stopped when I seen your post. It might have been a hundred other things that caused it but I feel in my heart that me taking lyrica cause me to lose my child.. I was really drowsy and on a high dose when it happened.
Fathering your child is not your job. Mothering is. I understand that sometimes a mom has to play the role of both mother and father and it's hard. When my mom did my dad had to stop being just a dad and take on all the duties that my mom did. He did a great job. But if you have the opportunity and the right guy who will love your child the way he loves you than why not let him farther your child? It gets tricky and it's always easier when you have someone by your side.

One of them raised concern to me and that is I should take caution if I plan to father a child. Reading further, some sites particularly said it has a potential to affect male fertility and give possible birth defects. This is a big concern to me and I am having seconds about taking this medicine because I do plan to father a child in a year or two.
I guess I just like to know if I should be concerned about this?

from what I know about those type of Meds they take a while to build up in the body, so dont give up, but keep an eye out because I had a build up in my chest it scared me , like I had a lump in my breast, and im a Male this cant be happen to me , so I slowly took myself off of them ( doc told me it was build up ).
what really helped me was water relaxing in the tub and having someone rub my legs, plus I got a foot massager, that helped out a lot. Hope things get better.

The Lyrica prevented those withdrawals. Lyrica is a miracle drug for me. It helps both my Fibromyalgia and anxiety. Lyrica even enhances my mood and clears my mind. I am up to 300 mg 2x a day. I strongly suggest it for anxiety. I am pleasantly surprised to hear it has been approved for anxiety in another country bc that usually means the United States will do the same eventually. I myself also suffer from addiction so be careful.
My partner actually had really low sperm morphology and his chances of fathering a child were very slim. We were about to start IVF when the miracle happened of us conceiving on our own. We both took prenatal vitamins, he took menevit, and not sure if this helped but it worked and we had sex right on ovulation and i kept my legs up in the air. I thought it was ridiculous, but it worked!!
