Tylenol PM is great if you have some pain and need to rest, and if your not taking it every night and only take it here and there yea i can usderstand using it. But its made for pain during the night... not a sleep aid. But if your not in pain its better to side with less work for the liver, so plain benedryl is my choice.
If you are looking for an OTC solution, I would recommend treatment with a medication that does not contain acetaminophen, as NyQuil and Tylenol PM do. This will just cause unnecessary damage to your liver. Tylenol does make a sleep aid that does not actually contain acetaminophen, only diphenhydramine (Benadryl), which is what's making you sleepy when you take these meds. You can also find generic versions of Benadryl sleep aids at most drug stores.
30 am and go to bed about 7:30 pm, except on weekends when I can stay up later and sleep later.
As far as thyroid issues were concerned, it didn't seem to have any effect, but then I was taking my thyroid med in the morning and the melatonin in the evening, so there was an entire day's separation.
My endo suggested that I take tylenol PM before bed. That works good for me, but again, I'm sleeping at night, not during the day.
Have you tried Tylenol PM?? Some say that works. Sleep can be a real issue during wd's. I found a warm bath sometimes helped. It will get better.
Tylenol is safe to take , my dr said if necessary to take medicine then take tylenol . But dont do it often.
It was in my system for maybe an hour and I ate a full meal but then I got upset and took a lot of tylenol pm...not sure how many but I think five to twenty with juice. I realized after what I had done and threw up as many as I could...about five. I drank water and went to sleep. I slept most of the next day but ate and today I went to school..I was drowsy and had stomach pain but it went away and all afternoon and evening I've been fine...
That's a really low dose and you should be fine. As Eyeofhorus mentions, there may be a bit of a placebo effect working for you so don't freak out if you have trouble falling asleep a few nights.
The "PM" part of Tylenol PM is diphenhydramine, better known as Benadryl. You might experience a runny nose and sinus congestion as your body adjusts to not having that antihistamine available on a daily basis.
was in your Tylenol PM as that is the only part that makes you sleepy anyway and if it is possible, buy a pure benadryl product in that same dosage if a doctor or a pharmacist were to say that was okay as well. Mind you, it has also been shown that most people become sort of immune to the sleepy effects of the benadryl after 3 days...
I've been taking 2 Tylenol PMs nightly for the last week, I'm 14 weeks and having such trouble falling asleep at night. Should I try something else? I'm worried about the effects on the baby if any.

Thank you for answering me. I just don't know what to do. Tonight and last night it was xanax and I still can't sleep yet. The night before last it was ambien and before that it was lunesta. it seems like every four five days I start clenching my teeth and grinding my jaw really hard it hurts that I have to go back to the xanax.
This is horrible and I am goiing to run out of ambien soon only ahev a few lunesta left, then only xanax about 90 .50 mg.
How do i stop this?????
You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
