Yesterday I've discovered a lump under my right jaw line which I believe is a swollen lymph node. I've always had a very hard bean-shaped lymph node on the left side of my jaw about 1-2 cm in diameter, and now there's a elastic painless lump of about 5 cm in diameters on the right side. Before it developed I could hardly feel the lymph nodes on the right side of my jaw.

Hello, I have found a lump under my mouth, which is right below my gums by my jaw. What can possibly be there that would be a lump? It has me worried....I have an appt for the ENT soon but it is driving me nuts. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

t know how I noticed it, but when I woke up I noticed a lump about the size of a marble on my left jaw. It feels like a bruise, but it I touch it enough the pains goes away. It doesn't move, and feels like it's attached to my jaw. I have no idea what's going on... I had one last year, but I think I could move it, and it went away after a few weeks.

t always have to be painful. Is the lump soft and moveable, or hard? The swelling under the right ear may very likely be a lymph node, too...but it doesn't make sense that it would disappear 15 minutes after you have eaten. Have you had either of these things evaluated by a doctor, potentially a specialist like an ENT?

I have had a swelling under right jaw for a couple of years. It was generally filled with fluid. Now all of a sudden (3-4 days), this has become big and hard. There a twitchy kind of feeling and a very slight pain at some points when I touch the lump. Can the sudden growth be malignant, and if so what should I do (surgery, medication, avoid certain food and drinks) and how soon should I get it removed?

On the side of his jaw where the swelling is there is a lump on top under the skin that is soft, but the actual jaw muscle both lower and upper towards the top of his head is much larger that the other side. m a 24 year old female-A couple of months ago I woke up with a painful pea to marble sized lump under the skin on my ear. It is located right where my ear connects to my head, on the bottom. Like if I were to pull my earlobe away from my head, it is in that "flap" of skin. Because it was painful and hard, I assumed it was a boil as I have had these in the past. I treated it with warm washclothes and heating pads, but the lump never softened or drained, however, the pain did go away.

I also have noticed that my spit gland located under my ear and in the area of where the jaw hinges is either swollen or has some sort of soft movable lump on it. I am getting headaches too. Could all of this be caused by that impacted wisdom tooth?

My take on this is that what ever this lump or knot is behind my ear has nothing to do w/any salivatery gland, because the lump is behind the ear and not in my mouth. As to the swelling I feel that its to the lump behind my hear that is causing my jaw muscle and neck muscle to swell, as a defense to the lump behind my ear. I am also feeling numbness in my L. side of my face, lip and arm which she said is a nuero issue.

Had root canal last Thurs and by Sat I was in extreme pain and with swelling to lower jaw & lump on inside of cheek & gums. I was given Amox. I have been taking Amox for 3 days & NSAID. Get HA, tired/dizzy off/on. Endodontist saw me today told me the lump was actually bone swelling not soft tissue but not to worry. Has anyone heard about this condition? Is it due to too much injected anesthesia or is it an immune response or the infection? Please advise thank you.

Four days ago went to er because my lower jaw started swelling up they prescribed me penicillin four times a day for ten Days and naproxen for discomfort and pain .I'm on day four of meds and I still have a small painful lump under decaying tooth should I go back to ear or wait till meds are done ?

Hi, just last night, I was laying in bed, and rolled to my right side, and as I turned my head over on my pillow, I noticed it was painful. Today. I've noticed it all day, there is a slight lump on the right side under my jaw. It is moveable, and isn't excruciating just yet. When I apply pressure, or face my head downwards, it gets very sore. I am very curious to know if this is heard of commonly or not, and if it is a serious problem. Thank you!

Hi, I'm a 26 year old male and recently I've had a few small lumps underneath my skin, along my jawline. They caused the surface of my skin to be slightly red, and they were very tender to the touch. Oh man, I hope you post back your findings. I am going through the exact same pain in my tooth and jaw for several weeks now. Had a partial root canal done and the same thing is happening to me; jaw and ear pain, swelling around the jaw area, sinuses draining. My dog has a soft lump under his jaw and this morning his face was swollen on the same side as the lump. His whole face wasn't swollen, just the jowel on the same side as the lump. I have an appointment to take him to the vet but was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what this might be.

my 2 year old lab bull terrier cross ***** has a huge swelling on the side of her face/cheek which started as a 3 cm loose lump in the tissue below her jaw b eside her wind pipe.. She has had it before while she was with someone else. Her lip is also swollen along that side of her mouth. she doesnt appear to be in any discomfort. I finished the course for both meds over 2 weeks ago and at that time I still had a small lump, infection at the bottom of jaw directly under the molar. 3 days later swelling returned, also swelled and hardened inside on the gum. Oddly the swelling has moved to the front lower portion of my mouth now. Of course I am still numb on that lower quarter of my face as well.
