Common Questions and Answers about Lump under chin near throat

Avatar f tn i just found a lump under my chin near my throat that is quite painful to touch- is this something to worry about or could it just be a swollen gland?
Avatar n tn that go up and down. The top one is up under my chin and looks like a man's adam's apple, and then there's two just underneath it, with the bottom most one right above my collar bone. I can feel the entire thyroid, starting at the base of my neck and going all the way up to just under my chin - where incidentally I seem to have developed a double chin out of the blue.
Avatar f tn Recently I found a small soft lump in my throat under my chin at my jaw line. I have had a sore throat and then I notice the lump. My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!

Avatar m tn lymph nodes (1 on each side) have somewhat grown a little in size, and lump under my chin changes its size too. What on earth could it be? The lump is pretty hard and has a kind of palpable <1 cm thick wire directin downwards to near my adams apple.
Avatar f tn Nancy, you get a lump under your chin when you have a sore throat because you have a lymph node there, which swells due to your immune system fighting an infection. You also have lymph nodes under your arms and near your groin. Though I do not believe there are any in the area Mommy2B is describing. I think she is referring to her pubic synthesis. It could be inflamed due to strained ligaments, but I am not very familiar with the attachments in the area.
Avatar f tn I have like a little lump under my skin just under my chin kinda near my throat. It is not sore or anything, i just don't know what it is. It kind of tickles every so often (not totally sure if thats from the lump or something else) I suck my thumb (I know..) which i think could have something to do with it... It is smaller than a pea, hard, and does not protrude but if i tilt my head back and run my fingers over it i can feel it.
Avatar f tn it more feels like a burning sensation when i touch it. my chin is extremely numb..the numbest part is right under my bottom lip on my chin in one patch. this ***** so bad. im taking vitamin b6 pills crushed up and also cant eat real solid foodds bc of the tongue issue. this is seriously depressing. your improvement gives me hope! maybe i should try the vitamin b liquid too? lol im taking pills..but i dunno what the difference would be. i havent found anyone who has my symptoms around here..
Avatar m tn Now it's back and I also relized that I have a small lump close to my saliva gland (right side). It's a small (peas sized) lump and it's softer. My ear and chin (throat up to ear area) sometimes ache and hurt and I cough in different times meaning at no specific time of the day, the cough gets worse. I've visited an ENT specialist and he couldn't find anything. I went to my family doctor and he couldn't find anything.
Avatar n tn i too have had a small pea sized lump on my ear at the back, just near to the crease. (if you put your finger just behind the lobe and rest it in the soft part, it is just above there) it is tender to touch and has been there for nearly 3 months. i dont think it has changed in size and it isnt a different colour so you wouldnt see it there until you feel it. i have not had the chance to go and see the doctor mainly because im not that worried about it but im curious to know what it could be.
Avatar m tn and down to under my chin towards my neck/throat and when i try to swallow it hurts and it feels like a lump or something under my chin and all that soft tissuey stuff under the tongue is starting to get sore as well. but no tongue pain. and its also spread up towards my ear. and This morning, i noticed that the inside and bottom of my jaw is swollen hurts so bad. i am totally miserable. I have an 18 month old daughter to care for and i can barely lift my head.
Avatar n tn Along with the gurgle I feel some light pressure in my lower throat, near my collarbone, like there's air trying to get out (no pain). The pressure is momentarily relieved after I "gurgle", but then it comes back and I need to "gurgle" again. I have met one or two other people who experience the same thing, including my sister, and seen other complaints online, but have found no explanation for why this happens, or how to prevent it. Any help?
Avatar n tn The initial sore throat, 3 years ago, started out feeling like a normal sore throat from a cold, the only difference is that I had a swollen gland directly under my chin in the bottom of my jaw that I have never had before. I have had no other health issues, I am very active, and have noticed no decrease in performance. If anything, in the past three years I have had fewer colds than normal and no serious sore throats.
358304 tn?1409713092 My glands in my neck are not swollen, but feel sore near my left ear and under my chin sometimes. But not a lot of pain, just a little sore sometimes. And my back has been kind of achy off and on. Finally after about 2 or 3 days of pain on that side, it has gotten much better, but my anxiety has sky rocketed. I can't stop thinking about it, and I keep thinking the IRRATIONAL THOUGHT "What if it's throat cancer!?" But I have to realize this could just be allergies.
Avatar n tn please let me know what they said. i found a pea sized lump under my chin(not around any bones) and it is freaking me out. it does not hurt at all, but i am wondering what it could be.
Avatar n tn hey just found this and it sounded a bit similar to what am experienceing now. for a while now ive been feelin pain under my jaw and throat and remember that the previous night well i was laughin there was big shoot of pain up the sides of my neck that went away and then a couple of nights later i had pain in my throat and jaw.
Avatar m tn It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
Avatar m tn But as in my case, very small food particles can still randomly become trapped in your throat somewhere. But this is no where near a big of a problem as when I actually had my tonsils and they were erupted with tonsil stones. So getting my tonsils removed was a huge benefit for me, and would be for anyone with tonsil stones.
317787 tn?1473362051 My husband has had a benign lump under his ear for a long time. Seems to be an age related thing with him. I know I had some digestive issues post tx, and it was hard not to go over the edge with the 'what ifs' Gratefully those passed.
Avatar n tn I was given tablets nearly a year ago now. But still suffer with it. It now feels like I have a lump in my throat and it is being pinched. I also seem to have constant headaches.
Avatar m tn This may or may not be what you have, but hopefully it will help someone. I always felt like something was stuck in my throat or I had a lump in my throat, sometimes left side, sometimes right side. I had trouble swallowing, was afraid to eat at first for fear or choking. I was very terrified for months.
Avatar m tn ( Funny thing is I'm not depressed, my life was quite good until this bug showed up. I can feel them crawling under my skin, they hang out in my ear (not sure if under the skin or just in the canal) all day, it's gross. No one in the house (my wife and 3 kids) can feel them. My wife has bites all up and down her legs and even a protruded ring looking this on her forearm. As you might have imagined I'm loosing my mind and life, nothing is the same.
Avatar n tn I had the same problem - red swollen itchy eye which started on the skin just under my left eye as the weeks went on it spread to the eye lid, the bridge on my nose, between my eye brows and to to skin round my other eye. it drove me in sane it was so imbarassing going into work. On the days it wasn't as red it was very dry bumpy and scaly horrible. The attack lasted months and the skin was starting to look wrinkly!
Avatar n tn The soreness and swelling has already subsided, now it just looks like a flattened red lump. She said the cyst will return to normal size and will remain under the skin, so this could happen again. If so, I may need minor surgery to remove it. But overall, nothing serious.
Avatar n tn It is coming from the throat or just below the throat. Telling a useless. I would just get the look....LOL I do have 4 heart stents and I do have reflux/gerd.
Avatar n tn Hey I have the same issue. Do you have swollen glands are lymph nodes under your chin are by your throat at all?
Avatar f tn The primary lump can be sign of stone formed in salivary gland that plugged the duct; this will not cause high ESR blood test reading. Ask for referal to ENT, he may recommend do ultrasound of the neck, MRI or CT scan. The same imaging procedure will pickup the abnormal lymph nodes if any.
Avatar n tn The permanent sutures that were left inside seemed to cause my tissue in my throat under my chin to swell out like a bullfrog. I mean huge and my previuosly flat jawline became rounded and jowly. I had a ct scan done and showed a mass of irritated tissue. My PS performed a second surgery 3 months after the first to remove the permanent sutures.
Avatar f tn --Pain in front part of throat near thyroid. I have a palpable, hard lump in the front of my throat about halfway down. It feels almost like I'm being strangled. The pain can be so bad I want to cry myself to sleep. I've had 2 endocrinologists confirm it is not thyroid-related pain even though it's near the thyroid. The pain seems to mostly radiate from the area where I feel the palpable lump. An ultrasound showed the lump I feel is a lymph node.
