Lump on cat's neck

Common Questions and Answers about Lump on cat's neck

Avatar m tn website from Animal Planet. He does episodes on feral cats and also has tips on owning ferals. You may even be able to ask your specific question on feral cats and scratching posts etc. on these websites. A last alternative would to be to get your feral cat into a carrier with food to bring it to the vet. The vet can put it under to clip it's nails, but I would also suggest getting it's shots also. Pretty expensive just to clip your cats nails.
Avatar n tn 2 days ago I checked my back of my neck and found a lump node, and before 1 month I had some pain on the same side of my neck, maybe the pain was due from stress. But now before the lump showing I had similar pain on my neck, but then the lump showed, I had no symptoms of fever or anything. But I'm feeling that my ears r blocked from time to time, I used to have ear irritation before. And my head feels kinda dizzy, and I just saw another lump on the back of my neck but on the left side.
6755894 tn?1384466098 Now that I think about it, my doc thought the situation was unusual not because it was a eosinophilic granuloma but because in my cat it manifested as a round lump under the skin on the side of her neck, like a marble was under there, not in her lip as an open looking lesion. (I guess rodent ulcer *is* usually in the mouth and raw.) I'm glad that you've worked out that this might be it. I do recommend seeing the vet ...
Avatar f tn Izzy's lump disappeared over the Christmas break and all signs of a sarcoma were gone. However, on Friday morning while petting her, I found another lump on her neck, but this time in the centre of her shoulder blades. So the location has changed, approx an inch over from the last one. It appears to have reduced in size this morning, but not to a degree where I'm comfortable with thinking it's 'nothing'. I saw my vet Friday morning and they have given me a referral to see an oncologist.
Avatar n tn It's just above her left collarbone, an enlarged lymph node. Biopsy said it was *not* lymphoma, but breast cancer. Not one single scan (MRI's, CAT's, PET's) have shown cancer *anywhere*, other than this one lymph node, as well as a few smaller scattered ones in her left neck, chest, & abdomen She did chemo last yr, & did fairly well until the last 2 mos, when she had awful bladder pain, frequent urination, etc. A urologist worked w/ her oncologist & took care of it.
Avatar f tn My cat has a lump on the side of her neck and the vet said it was a swollen salivary gland. It has increased in size by 60% since the diagnosis. Does anyone know what this means? Can a cat die from this? How can it be treated? Vet said the surgery is too risky since it's so close to the jugular. Help!!! Any info is much appreciated.
1142551 tn?1264740530 I have a lot of lumps that hurt real bad under my skin on my lower legs. By sight its looks like red splotches and when you run your fingers over them you can feel the lump. And it hurts. However everytme this happens I usually go into flare up mode after. Which *****, cuz I hope this isnt where its headed.
Avatar n tn With Daisy, we noticed a lump on her neck and had blood work done - that was in April. Her bloodwork was normal and so the vet thought it was nothing to worry about. By June, the lump all of a sudden doubled and we took her in again and had more blood work done. The blood work came back abnormal and then we did a biopsy and it showed Lymphoma. At that point, the vet x-rayed her chest cavity and the cancer had spread to other other organs.
Avatar f tn I've put warm compresses on her head and next to her body. There is a lump on the side around her stomach area. If we stroke her she purrs and has been purring and making sounds like she used to. She doesn't seem to be in pain, no yowling. She has opened the eye which she was bleeding out a little. Now it remains shut. From what I could see is that there is a scratch on the white eye covering. Is it possible to realign the jaw by ourselves? Should I just let her be?
Avatar n tn s When I first realized the symptom, it was a small lump on the hip, now is become one size of a quarter(maybe larger), and other smalls ones over the body. It has been closed to a year(since I don't know who to talk to.....
365714 tn?1292202708 He was just laying there like a lump on a log, with the E coller around his neck and the catheter taped around his tail. Odd how even though he can lay pretty calm at home, he doesn't quite look the same in the vet's area. I think it's the collar, but also the unfamiliar surroundings. I was allowed to open his kennel. I pet him a little on his face and touched his belly a little. Normally I'd rest my hand there and he'd turn over, but I didn't want him to move much so I stopped.
Avatar n tn I just got the new my cat had this about 4 months ago and it has spread so quickly it is the size of a baseball on his neck. The vet told me it would open up and cause an infection and as gross as this is the skin is dying so it is odorous. I have to bandage my cat like a person and clean it everyday. My cat still eats and plays like nothing as wrong. As gross as this tumor is the surgery is so expensive with not a good chance of survival.
Avatar n tn also the night before this trip I had this severe, quite severe neck pain and the neck pain was bad on the trip...

874521 tn?1424120397 So I'm trying to decide if I should go to the specialist first or just have them do the surgery and remove the lump and put her on the heart medicine. I don't even know how much the surgery will cost. I haven't asked them yet. Not even sure how I'm going to afford that one. I would sure appreciate any and all prayers for us to make the best decision here. I'll let you all know when I know more. Thanks so much for caring! That means so much to me.
Avatar n tn Anyway, I am giving it a try and will keep you all posted on how this works. I do know that dairy products product excess mucous so that might be part of the problem. I have also read where the processing of milk (pasturized/homogenized) may be part of the problem. Of course we all know about the problem with these cows receiving anitbiotics and hormone injections. Perhaps we should all become vegetarians we might live a longer life.
Avatar n tn There are some periods throughout the day where it's not laboured and I feel as if I breathe normally, but then it creeps up on me and I have to start yawning again. My nose feels very clogged all the time and my chest, stomach, and back muscles feel very constricted when breathing. It's especially noticeable when I am working out...especially running and lifting weights. I have to stop every once in a while just to yawn (frustrating) to stop from getting dizzy.
Avatar n tn This second time around, I've been itching for 2-3 months. Last week I noticed a lump on my right side where my thigh begins. Right at the joint. I also noticed a few red spots. Which is strange because I'd itch but there wouldn't be any marks on my skin. I look normal. I went to see my doctor and he told me I had shingles. Which explains the red spots and the lump. He put me on Valtrex (sp?) and I've been taking it for the past 4 days.
203342 tn?1328740807 He has trouble with his back legs a lot now just suddenly giving out especially on stairs. He struggles to get up if he's been laying down for awhile. I also don't think he sees or hears as well as he used to. He's overweight which seems to partly go with the Cushings. We have him on a low-fat diet and it doesn't seem to help much. I try to walk him but he tires out easily and I wind up having to carry him home because he'll sit down and refuse to walk anymore!
