Lump in wrist joint

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in wrist joint

lump

Avatar m tn Then saturday it started to swell very badly. A knot/ lump formed centralized on my hand/ wrist area and my wrist became very stiff and sore. I iced it and took it easy trying not to strain it any more. The swelling seemed to go down some but not a lot when sunday rolled around. I did the same thing hoping it would keep getting better. Later sunday night I noticed it was swelling up again. I continued to ice the injury but no noticable changes.
Avatar n tn In all probability you have a ganglion (cyst) or a neurofibroma. Both can cause pain in the wrist joint. A ganglion is a sac-like swelling or cyst formed from lining of a joint or from a tendon. A neurofibroma is a collection of nerve and fibrous tissue. If they are causing pain and pressure symptoms they need to be removed. Please consult your PCP to start with and get a referral for a surgeon. Take care!
Avatar n tn On my right hand, just above my wrist there's a hard lump in my hand. Everyone says it's cos i'm so skinny & that my bones show but no one else has it there and my mum says she doesnt think that it's a bone. What could this be??
Avatar m tn Doctor, I have a hard lump on the back of my left wrist, that I think I've had for at least a few years. It seems to extend from at or about the point where my forearm bones meet at the wrist joint, into the "Anatomical Snuffbox". In the adjacent direction, it seems to be about three quarters of an inch across, and it sticks up enough to be easily felt, but not so much as to be noticed by anyone, but me. I'm willing to send a photograph, if you want.
Avatar m tn I NOTICED ONE DAY THAT I HAD A SMALL LUMP ON TOP OF MY LEFT WRIST, I DON'T REMEMBER SEEING IT THAT MORNING. I WENT TO DO SOME SHOPPING AND ON THE WAY HOME I NOTICED THE LUMP RIGHT WHERE THE WRIST JOINT BENDS. IT DOESN'T HURT, IT JUST FEELS LIKE A HARD BONY LUMP. HOW COULD SOMETHING THAT WASN'T THERE IN THE MORNING BE THERE IN THE AFTERNOON ? I DID PICK UP A FEW HEAVY THINGS, BUT DON'T REMEMBER ANY PAIN. ITS NOT SWOLLEN, IT JUST SEEMS TO BE SOME KIND OF LUMP.
8964186 tn?1436109599   Lately 10 weeks ago got joint pain on left knee, then a couple  of weeks  later joint soreness in elbows wrist, and fingers....finger feel bruised at times, mild pain radiates down arm at times..  Been to two neurologist  and they both both dismissed my concerns saying it's not ms or als that I need to see rheumatologist. ...but this feels neurology related.  Did mri of spine and brain.  Doc said brain looked good other than cyst on skull base benign  no treatment needed.
168348 tn?1379357075 I have one near my wrist, I've had it for about a year. It is large enough to be easily noticed, but causes no pain or loss of motion, so I just let it be. If it started to hurt, I would try aspiration first. Hope your dd feels better soon!
Avatar f tn I have fm and in the past 8 months developed painful lumps in the same place on both wrists. Just where the bottom of the thumb meets the wrist. I can't wear my watch band anymore because the swelling makes it so tight. To me it looks like there is something on one of the ligaments. Finally I went to the doctor . Xrays of both hands showed nothing. He gave me an injection of cortisone into the lump on the most painful wrist and although I still have this lump the pain is gone.

1108194 tn?1378424522 You are correct, they only occur in the ankle, wrist, hand, fingers, foot, and knee. I have not found anything that says they can occur on the collar bone. Uhm maybe you should find a new doctor and get a second opinion. That is what I would do if I were you, especially if you are considering surgery to have it removed.

1625195 tn?1332178662 The arm itself, feels fine, up until the wrist where there is small pain near the outer joint of the wrist. My pinky, connected to the aching joint, is fine. There is little to no numbness. The ring finger is the same as well. But my middle finger, index finger and thumb are definitely numb and slightly swollen. My index finger, though, is the only finger experiencing some pain along with the numbness and swelling. Things to note: I did not bang my elbow on anything.

Avatar m tn Yesterday I picked up a cup of coffee out of the microwave using my left hand. Immediatly after my wrist got a 1 to 2 inch lump on it. Didnt hurt really. The next day my entire palm side of my wrist is bruised. It isnt painful but it is a bothersome feeling when typing at work and driving. Let me also add that I am 23 years old in good shape. I also have only been working at a job where typing is an everyday occurance for 2 weeks and 1 day.
Avatar f tn 9 weeks ago she had an achilles tendon graft in her elbow joint to relace the lost cartalege. She also had an external fixator put in arm for six weeks. As the nerve block wore off from surgery, we noticed she could not lift her wrist, or her fingers at the first joint. She could move them down ,just not up. The Dr. said to wait it may just be the nerve block. After a week he decided to go back in and said he found a nerve was pinched against one of the pins for the fixator.
Avatar f tn For a few weeks I have been experiencing shooting nerve pain my left thumb. The pain/numbness occurs at the base of the thumb joint where it meets the web part of hand. Rubbing over this area, i can feel the nerve move across the joint. Pushing on the inside of thumb causes tingling/numbness but when I try to grip something I will get sharp shocking pain into thumb. I've been icing it but when I go ti stretch I feel the nerve being stretched in thumb which is painful.
