Is the lump tender or painful? Is there any redness in the area? The antibiotics could have helped clear the bacteria and thus, the area may no longer present any pain or redness if these were present initially. A scrotal ultrasound may be able to help ascertain the cause of the swelling. A regular testicular examination will also be able to help. So I was taking a shower about 10 mins ago and I noticed a decent sized lump located 2-3 inches above the start of my penis. Basically in the pubic hair region, towards the top of that. The left side is flat and as you make your way to the right side it rises about an inch or so. It stuck out to me alot...so it couldnt of been there for long. It doesn't hurt and isn't hard. Hi, I have been getting a boil or a bump in my pubic area. It comes back around the same spot every 2-3 months or so. The top is pretty soft and around the bottom/base its hard, and about a dime in size. I'm 19 and have not been sexually active as yet. This does not sound like herpes. it does sound like molluscum contagiosum, a non-HPV kind of wart. This is sometimes sexually transmitted, and often not. If it is in your case, you'll have a sexual partner who has similar bumps in the pubic area. If not, then it doesn't matter where you got it. There is a very painful, weirdly shaped bump/lump on the right side of my private area, hidden in pubic hair.
