Common Questions and Answers about Lump in neck sore

lump

Avatar m tn 3 wks ago I had my tooth worked on at the dentist to relieve some preassure of tooth pain I was having. No bump or swelling at that time. I finished my amoxicillan prescribed. Three days later, I started with pain again and major swelling in cheek. I went back into dentist and they tried to drain the hard ping pong sized lump in my lower right cheek. I left feeling less pain, but more swelling and bigger lump/more hard.
Avatar n tn On a side note, the past few weeks (starting a 2 weeks before noticing this back lump) I have had a sore area in my throat (not a sore throat!, no pain swallowing, but an irregular feeling like a lump or abrasion) WITH what seemed to be salivary gland pain, two (first tender, then hard) lymph glands in neck, and pain/throb in armpit, groin, and femoral region (no noticed lumps except swollen pain in groin while on Augmentin) and ear pain.
Avatar f tn it do sound like you have an infection in your throat and maybe your ears, the lump could be a swollen gland but as londres said after four days and it havent cleared you should go to the doctors.
Avatar n tn I have had a painless lump in my neck for several years. It is on the left side in the same area where my lymph nodes typically swell up when I have a cold. It is behind the upper part of my jaw, below my ear. It is hard, painless (unless I press it rather hard), immovable and about an inch in size. I have had two doctors who have been aware of it, but dismissed it. The first one put me on antibiotics to make it go down, but they did not do anything.
Avatar f tn About a month ago I discovered a lump in my neck. It is hard as a rock, doesn't move. It doesn't hurt or itch. It's in the back of my neck (lower part), close to my spine. It's about the size of a bean. Also, I've been tons of other symtoms, I don't know if they are related to the lump.
Avatar m tn Last week I was ok but developed a sore throat and headaches late last week and by the weekend I had a sore throat, vomited once and developed a sore neck and this lump all in the space of a day. I dunno what it is but if I turn my neck now it's not that painful but before it felt like I had strained a muscle in my neck and the lump itself is quite tender to touch.
Avatar f tn i have a small lump on the left side if my neck under my chin it is a little sore waht could this be This discussion is related to lympnodes and thyroid.
Avatar f tn Fast forward a year and I am still not the same person. The lump in my ear/neck area is constantly tender and painful. The majority of the time I have an earache. This has been causing me discomfort and pain now for a year! I feel dismissed by the doctor I saw and cannot afford to keep going back without results. I need a direction or suggestions as to what to do next. I am losing sleep over this and feel an urgency to press on. I am a female, age 42, 5;3", 135 lbs.Thank you.
Avatar n tn I noticed this weekend a big lump in neck between adams apple and base of neck; the lump moves when i swallow - went to er and it said swollen cartilage - i'm not comfortable with this diagnosis. Anyone else experienced this? thanks.
Avatar n tn I've had a sort of lump on the back left side of my neck for about 2 years now. It's not very big, and it's situated in between the back of neck and the side of my neck kind of where the hairline begins. It has not grown in the two years since i've noticed it, it isn't sore to touch or painful whatsoever. As well, I can only feel it at certain angles and i really have to push into my skin to feel it, it feels hard like it could be a bone or a muscle or somthing.
Avatar f tn Hi, hoping to get some insight here, because I'm really afraid. It all started about three months ago with a feeling of a lump in my throat. Not an actual lump, but the feeling of one, right below where my adam's apple would be (I'm female though). I'd feel it on and off through the day, sometimes not so bad, and sometimes very noticeable. When I eat or drink anything it gets better though, the feeling of the lump goes away.
20646321 tn?1502729047 For the past year or so I have always had a small hard nodule at the base of my neck, but you couldn't see it.. I could just feel it. (Probably no bigger than a half a cm) it has been able to move with my skin and has never been painful. Since it never grew it never seemed like I needed to get it checked. 8 days ago I noticed the spot was sore and had grown a little bit, but not much. Over the course of the past week it has grown a LOT and became very red, painful, and warm to the touch.
Avatar f tn I have a lump on the right side of my neck under my ear. It is about the size of a strawberry I would say. It started out just a few little bumps all in a row and since January it has turned into one big lump. I have been to the clinic 3 times and the doctors keep saying it should just go away. However it is getting worse, more pain and my right arm and shoulder muscles are starting to stiffen up and getting sore.
Avatar n tn I have also now noticed a lump in my neck on the same side which is just as tender to touch - this lump seems to be too far beneath the surface to be a sore and is slightly further back than where my glands tend to come up... Any suggestions on what these could be (I was diagnosed with tyhroid nodules last year but assuming this isnt connected) I just hate taking time of to see drs...
Avatar f tn Thank you Dr. Santos, Do you think the symptoms of my throat and my glands, and the pain that radiates in different parts of my neck are related? It seems that they should be, the "lump in throat" feeling started first, for about a week, and then the gland hurt in my neck, and then that stopped and traveled up to just below my ear, and then went over to just below my ear on the other side...
Avatar f tn I initially thought it was a knot in my muscle, but now I have swollen neck glands with no sore throat.
Avatar n tn I did go to the doctor about it several times and was told it was fluid collection in the neck that would go away in time. My doc said if it was very bothersome that he could drain it with a needle but I felt I had been through enough and wasn't about to do that unless I had to. The bulge goes down from time to time but it is always there to an extent. I do not know how long it will take to totally go away.
