Lump in neck getting smaller

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in neck getting smaller

Avatar f tn Hello, A few days ago I noticed a lump slightly smaller than a pea on my neck right under my chin about half an inch from the midline of my neck right under the skin. It seems to have gotten a little bigger after agitating it but I could be wrong. Just today I started to get soreness on that side of my neck when pressing my fingers up under my jaw. I am a 22 year old female nonsmoker and I would just like to know what this could possibly be. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Diagnosis: Nodules? I have 2 protruding nodules that are quite visible to the eye. at bottom of neck. General practitioner examined by hand and concluded that that the right hand side lump, covers pretty much all of the thyroid gland, to the right, and the left hand side one , is smaller, but also visible to eye. What does the size of the nodule indicate? Because of it's external protrusion, is the size of such a nodule, a cause for concern?
Avatar n tn Enlarged (but a lot smaller than the lump below my clavicle) Hard Painless Moves when I touch it (the lump below my clavicle doesn't) I'm not sick or anything. No fever, chills, night sweats, loss of appetite etc. I just get headaches, but I have had migraines since I was little so it's normal to me. So I'm not sure if I should be more or less worried! I really just want to find out what this is! CT scan should show it since they are doing my left clavicle and neck.
Avatar n tn Not large lumps by the way, but not real small. about the size of a dime. They are not getting larger in size (or smaller if that matters) My concern for this is really inflating. What do you guys think? If you have any more questions just ask. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn It's soft and there are two lumps in there (I believe it's slowly getting smaller but I can't be sure since it's so small). I've had it for a couple of months now and it's been varying size. It appears when I mess with it too much, it gets inflamed and irritated and when I leave it alone, it all but goes away. Either way, it's bothering the **** out of me (no other symptoms, but it weighs on my mind) and I was curious if anybody knew what it was. Thanks in advance!
Avatar n tn About two years ago, while I was putting it up, I noticed a lump on the back of my neck. It is under my hair, almost at the hair line, on the left side of my neck on what feels like the left muscle of the spine, at the base of the skull. I hadn't thought of it in a while, but more recently I have been getting massive debilitating migraines. That's why I decided to ask a question here. It is about the size of a dime, maybe slightly smaller.
Avatar f tn I have had this thing for more than a year, and is not getting smaller. I do get pain in my ribs, as well as my back and neck, also for the past month, I have been nautious, and get very dizzy. Every time I go to the doc. office, they say the dizziness is Vertigo, and they gave me Antivert. The back pain they are saying is related to a previous injery(herniated disk) and I had surgery to fix that in 2003. Can any one point me in the direction pertaining to a swollen muscle.
1287128 tn?1331138138 i was tickling my three year old on her neck and noticed a lump on her neck about the size of a lima bean and about an inch below her ear. Avatar n tn Today it is still there, and ironically I told my friend that I would like to go get this checked out, when he told me he had the same sort of lump under the skin, in the same exact area, which has been there for months. After rubbing my neck all around, I have found yet another one that is much smaller I can feel, that is just above my hairline on my neck. Can someone explain what these are, and what medical help I should seek? Thanks a lot.
Avatar n tn I am 21 years old and I have had a lump behind my jaw, on my neck, for about 5 or 6 years now. My lump, however, is internal and does not feel like cystic acne. I have been to several doctors and none of them can tell me what it is. I think it is possibly a swollen gland. I try so many things to make it go away, but it just won't. Does your lump seem more internal (like a gland) or external (like acne)?
Avatar n tn Also, just after my shower tonight I took at look in the mirror to see if I can tell more closely what it is, the lump is under the skin, round, pea size, hard, I squeeze it and it looked like there was puss coming out of a pour. Anyway, how long should I wait to see a doctor? 1 week?
Avatar n tn I have had a lump at the base of my neck in hairline for years. If I massage the area it would get one doctor said it was not cancer since it gets smaller and sometimes goes away.I get a burning pain there and now I have one on the other side (left side) this has been going on for years. It is like a brain freeze pain that never goes a way.I am going to the doctors tomorrow so maybe I will find out more...
5887018 tn?1376101431 Good day! I found a small lump in the right side of my neck. It doesn't hurt. I cannot even see it but I can feel it. It seems to move a little when I want it to. I can say that it is really inside my neck. A relative told me that maybe it is a swollen lymph node. By the way, I am now in my middle term of treating tuberculosis and I'm now feeling fine. When my tb was diagnosed it was a latent one, which means I didn't feel any symptom of it (no cough, no night sweats, etc.).
Avatar m tn A few lymph nodes on the neck, all around half a cm in size each, along with respiratory symptoms point towards an infective episode. Your doctor has examined your neck and collar bone and not found anything suggestive of lymphoma. Please relax. Do regular warm saline gargles. If discomfort persists, please visit your doctor again. All the best, and God Bless!
Avatar n tn My doctor said the lymph nodes in my neck are palpable, but they are not growing and still very small. I have a large lump in my armpit as well, but a saw a surgeon and she felt that it was nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn I have been on suppresive therapy for a diffuse goiter for about two months now and during that time I have had intermitent pain in my left ear. I just thought it was allergies(due to the time of year) though I have never had them in my life. I am also, snoring very loudly at night. This has been going on for about six months now but again, I didn't think it was relevant to my thyroid and it may not be.
Avatar n tn It has now been a month and I still have the lump, although smaller. The scar it perfect and otherwise I don't feel bad. Is this something that usually takes a long time for my body to absorb? Is that normal after a hematoma? I am presently out of town and myI general physician wants me to have a neck sonogram when I get back at the end of the month. I will also have an appointment with the surgeon and the endocrinologist. WORRIED!!!
Avatar n tn I have had the lump for 3 weeks and the dry throat for 2. The lump seems to be smaller rather than larger than when I first noticed. I figure I should get it examined but I hate going to the doctor and don't want to deal with an appointment or 2 if it will just go away. I guess my question is if anyone else has heard of this combo of symptoms or knows about this type of lump.
Avatar n tn 10 days ago while taking out the garbage, I slipped on ice and slid off my porch and landed right on my butt bone(coxsyss I think it's called). About 36-48 hours later I started getting a little lump in the side of my neck in a lymph node I guess. It grew kind of quick to like 1 inch diameter over the course of a few days. Well i had a hard time sitting and working last week (I drive a bus) but just now that pain is starting to get better. It still hurts though.
Avatar f tn So the day before yesterday after eating a potato bread roll I feel a lump swell up at the meet up of my head to neck on my right side. It worried me at how it got so big so fast and made me feel like something was compressing my windpipe from the outside. I tried not to worry and went to bed. In the morning I could still feel the lump but it was considerably smaller and only hurt if I touched it or turned my head to far.
Avatar n tn This isn't your scenario but when I felt in my dog's neck a few weeks ago, I immediately got him in and had a needle aspiration done. Unfortunately, he has high grade Lymphoma. For me, better to be on the safe side and have it checked.
Avatar n tn So Im not really sure what to do. The lump has been noticeable for about a week, but I dont really feel like its getting smaller or going away, and it the whole area around it is becoming sore. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.
Avatar m tn My dad will not go to the doctor at all so I'm trying to get info to determine if I should be concerned or let the matter go. He has a large irregular shaped (like a bag full of marbles) protruding lump approximately 2" in diameter that seems to be getting larger, not smaller. It was fairly slow growing--took months to appear. He says it isn't very painful. There is no skin discoloration of any kind. It is moveable and a combination of hard and soft.
Avatar n tn hi im am sorry to hear that your unwell but i have a small lump under my thigh it not getting any bigger or smaller it just thier i get a lot of pain in that leg anddown my whole left side it just iv found one on my kidney which feels to be bigger than the one one on my leg do u think that it could be serious thanks iv been worried for ages about this not been to c any one
Avatar f tn Hi everyone...I too found a lump in my neck. I had a CT scan done last week and they said that I have two small kidney shaped lumps. I believe they were about 1.4 cm in size. I see that everybody keeps asking about night sweats, pain in thumb and stomach pain. I have had all of these symptons. I did not associate any of this with my lumps and now I am very concerned. I also had my Thryoid removed 30 years ago, because they thought it was malignat, fortunately it wasn't.
Avatar n tn Hi I am constantly getting in grown hairs on the back of my neck as well, I stopped shaving my neck for 2 months and used cortizone creams and such but nothing gets rid of these bumps. I no they are in grown hairs. I once had one that looked like a huge tumor. If you can imagine the embarasment these portray, if there is anyone out there please help us.
Avatar n tn I have a hard, pea sized lump under the skin in my pubic area (less than 1/2 inch above clitoris and slightly to the left). It's not visible at all and can only be felt by touch - I first noticed it about 1 1/2 months ago. Went to my obgyn and she quickly told me it seems like an ingrown hair and I should put warm compresses on it. She even said it looked like a white head was coming up. Well, the compresses didn't work.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hope you can help. I have found a lump under my left armpit that i noticed about 3 months ago. It does not hurt and is deep in the hollow of my armpit. I have been the doctors and the first doctor said it was a swollen lymph gland and it was probably due to my hormonal changes as i am taking cilest birth control pill for polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Avatar m tn Perhaps the swollen lymph node was pressing against a nerve in your neck that runs down into your arm. I'm assuming that the pain is going away now that the lymph node swelling is going down?
