Lump in neck gets smaller

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in neck gets smaller

Avatar f tn I have a hard lump about halfway up the left side of my neck. It changes size, gets smaller, then if I touch it for a few seconds it starts to get bigger again. It's painless and it is moveable. I feel like it's lymphoma and I'm so scared. I'm on Vacation now so can't go to dr so I'm wondering if this points to any kind of cancer for that matter. Please help me!
Avatar n tn My suggestion would be to wait out for a few weeks to see if it changes in size. If it gets smaller, it was nothing. If it happens to get bigger, then pls get it evaluated from your doctor. An FNAC of the lump will give a clear cut picture.Your father may take some pain killers or some anti-inflammatory drug if pain is there. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your father is doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Avatar n tn The vets aren't acting as fast as I'd like and Dixie, in the meantime, has to get by in her condition and I'm left to cry and pray. I want them to go in and remove this thing but they act like they don’t want to. I'm hoping or some freak infection or something but my gut is telling me cancer. What do you think?? Thanks for taking the time to read my long story and replying.
Avatar n tn I am 21 years old and I have had a lump behind my jaw, on my neck, for about 5 or 6 years now. My lump, however, is internal and does not feel like cystic acne. I have been to several doctors and none of them can tell me what it is. I think it is possibly a swollen gland. I try so many things to make it go away, but it just won't. Does your lump seem more internal (like a gland) or external (like acne)?

Avatar m tn I've recently noticed a lump on my neck and I would like a little analysis before I go to my doctor. The lump is touching(But not attached) to the bottom of my jaw line, on my right side. It's about a little smaller than a golf ball, and I've been feeling a little pain/discomfort whenever I maneuver my neck across it(When it gets pinched). I can feel that it is not connected to any muscle, tissue or bone, as I can move it slightly from it's spot.
Avatar f tn For many years I have had a lump under the skin near my right shoulder blade, on the side near the spine. It sometimes gets large enough to see. Deep massage causes some pain in the lump but it helps the headaches and tension in my shoulders. It does get smaller with massage but never disappears. I asked one doctor and she said it was just a group of fat cells and nothing to be concerned about. However, it causes discomfort more than not.
Avatar m tn In other words, doctor, does cancer lump goes away after ew days or does it stay longer and gets bigger? will be a lunmp that gets smaller and goes away consider a canncer treat or not? the reason im asking you this is to be able to have a certain idea of my situation because if cancer lumps does not go away that easily and gets bigger then I will have better state of mind till my next doctor visit.
798555 tn?1292791151 My reflux has been gone for 6 months but I still get this lumpy feeling in my throat - it can vary by the hour and go away for a day or two, kind of wierd when swallowing. When I hold my neck back there is a smaller lump under my Adams apple, does everyone have this? . I have been hypo for years, I dont remember what my neck used to look like. Its not like I ever took a pic of it back then to compare! Is the lumpy feeling normal for hypo thyroid people? I doesn't hurt.
5887018 tn?1376101431 Good day! I found a small lump in the right side of my neck. It doesn't hurt. I cannot even see it but I can feel it. It seems to move a little when I want it to. I can say that it is really inside my neck. A relative told me that maybe it is a swollen lymph node. By the way, I am now in my middle term of treating tuberculosis and I'm now feeling fine. When my tb was diagnosed it was a latent one, which means I didn't feel any symptom of it (no cough, no night sweats, etc.).
Avatar f tn I am 29 years old woman and got a painless, soft lump on the right downside of my neck. When I press it, it goes in. I went to the doctor but she said it is okay, just got swallowed from infections. I got this lump like two years ago and now it looks like there two one smaller above the first one. I am not quite sure if it is lump or more like bump. Is it something I should be worried about?
Avatar n tn My doctor said the lymph nodes in my neck are palpable, but they are not growing and still very small. I have a large lump in my armpit as well, but a saw a surgeon and she felt that it was nothing to worry about.
Avatar n tn My daughter gets a lump in the same place you described when ever she is ill. Her Dr. said it is just a swollen lymph node and it can take months to go away. If it is not getting larger it is probably going away.
Avatar n tn I am 46 years old. Several months ago, a soft lump formed in the center plam of my right hand. It was about 0.25" circumference and is visible when my hand is open, and fingers stretched back. I can feel that it must be pushing on my tendons because I can feel a slight tension pain that radiates slightly beyond my elbow. I also feel pain when slight pressure is pressed on it. In the last couple months, it has gotten slightly smaller.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone...I too found a lump in my neck. I had a CT scan done last week and they said that I have two small kidney shaped lumps. I believe they were about 1.4 cm in size. I see that everybody keeps asking about night sweats, pain in thumb and stomach pain. I have had all of these symptons. I did not associate any of this with my lumps and now I am very concerned. I also had my Thryoid removed 30 years ago, because they thought it was malignat, fortunately it wasn't.
Avatar n tn Hi I am constantly getting in grown hairs on the back of my neck as well, I stopped shaving my neck for 2 months and used cortizone creams and such but nothing gets rid of these bumps. I no they are in grown hairs. I once had one that looked like a huge tumor. If you can imagine the embarasment these portray, if there is anyone out there please help us.
Avatar n tn I had a cat once who had a tumor on his neck, and it feels just like that. So, I am going to keep an eye on it in case it gets bigger. The problem is, when I went searching for the problem, it would only being up soft tissue sarcoma, a type of cancer. It said that soft tissue sarcoma can either grow or stay the same. I don't want to go to the doctor unless it is something serious and not something like an ingrown hair (which I don't think it is) or a knot beneath the skin.
Avatar n tn Thanks i dont even believe it to be swollen its tiny, like 5mm if not smaller, like a small shotty type gland, not even visible to the eye, but i just dont like having it there when you hear all this stuff on the internet it scares the hell outta me, my girlfriend regularly gets swollen glands in her neck and has done for a few years so her condition also puts me at a unearvy level! shes even had one removed!. So if i didnt notice the condom broken it most certainly did not break!

Avatar n tn Hi everyone I've had 3 lymph nodes in my neck which have been palpable for at least 2 years. My doctor felt them about 2 years ago and said they were fine and that's been that. However since having my son 6 months ago I've become very anxious about them. They are about 1cm in size possibly ever so slightly smaller. The last 2 weeks I've had a few night sweats where I've had big wet rings on my nightdress.
Avatar m tn Perhaps the swollen lymph node was pressing against a nerve in your neck that runs down into your arm. I'm assuming that the pain is going away now that the lymph node swelling is going down?
Avatar f tn I have a movable, pea (or smaller) sized lump in (upper) front of my right ear and right on the area where you feel your jaw open when opening mouth wide. It cannot be 'seen'. No pain or change in size for at least 20 years. I found it years ago when massaging a sore jaw joint. It sort of feels like it's in a tendon and in front of the Tragus.
Avatar n tn It will get smaller on its own in time. Remember, the more it is touched the longer it will take to get to its normal size. I know it is scary to find any lump! Take care!
Avatar n tn As a matter of fact I have an appointment tomorrow for another lump in the same general area. It is very deep beneath the skin. Sore to the touch. I have also have a small lump beneath an obvious hair folical that is clearing up as well that I noticed a week ago it is already beginning to shrink. The main thing is once you get a lump to get treatment started asap before the body walls it off which is why I had to have surgery.
Avatar n tn I also have the lump that has been growing in size over the last 4-5 years in the xyphoid area. Also have difficulty swallowing. Don't sleep on my stomach often - more of a side sleepr. Glad to hear that it is not serious.
Avatar f tn My neck is not soar at all, it is just the esophogus. If i put my head back I feel pain in my esophogus and while moving my head back it feels worse, as if it is stiff and cannot be stretched out too fast or too far. If I turn my head to the side I get the same feeling, as if I should not keep turning. It then reacts just as if I were cracking my neck...I keep turning my head to the side and than it "snaps" back into place. It than feels normal again-if i keep it in that position.
