The most common cause of swollen glands or lymph nodes is infection. This may include infection
in the head such as
in the ear, tonsils, gums or teeth and even the skin
in these parts or other conditions such as autoimmune conditions and even malignancy. Pain medications may help provide relief. However, If it persists, diagnostic tests such as blood tests and direct physical examination may need to be done. Antibiotics may be indicated for bacterial infections.
