lump in neck behind jaw

Hi all anyone any ideas ? I have this lump in my neck about 2-3 years behind my jaw bone and under my ear ..I brought to my gp years ago n he said probly a cyst never gave me any trouble ....but now ...I was admitted to hospital a few weeks back in horrific pain in my jaw n felt like this lump was exploding in my neck ...no amount of pain relief would take it away I was practically unconscious from all of it ...anyways pain has subsided but still there ...

My take on this is that what ever this lump or knot is behind my ear has nothing to do w/any salivatery gland, because the lump is behind the ear and not in my mouth. As to the swelling I feel that its to the lump behind my hear that is causing my jaw muscle and neck muscle to swell, as a defense to the lump behind my ear. I am also feeling numbness in my L. side of my face, lip and arm which she said is a nuero issue.

I have had a painless lump in my neck for several years. It is on the left side in the same area where my lymph nodes typically swell up when I have a cold. It is behind the upper part of my jaw, below my ear. It is hard, painless (unless I press it rather hard), immovable and about an inch in size. I have had two doctors who have been aware of it, but dismissed it. The first one put me on antibiotics to make it go down, but they did not do anything.

i had a little lump behind my jaw, it just seems like a small solid spherical...thing :( i could kinda move it around and stuff and when i looked down, so my jaw was pushing against it, it would move towards my neck. about an hour ago , i felt it in the middle of my neck, beside my trachea (i think) ...and a few minutes later i was panicking like crazy,and it has now moved to the base of my throat. i am extremely worried that it could move under my chest or something.

I've got a hard bone type lump, that's painless on my scalp, behind my ear. I've have terrible headaches on the same side too. Mostly in my temple area that radiates into my cheekbone and jaw. The skin is sore to touch as well. Feels like it's bruised. The headaches are horrendous. Facial twitching and jaw jerking. My neck feels like there's pressure on the left side (same side as lump and headache). I've got small tender lumps in both armpits.

I then noticed a hard acorn sized lump in the right side of my neck that is located just behind the corner of my jaw and . My neck hurt for that day and the next couple of days. The pain went away then i noticed pain in the right side of my back and even in my right pectorial. i also notised a strange pulsing feeling that shot down the front of my neck to the chest. After this swelling cotinued in the back of my back and got worse.

I'm a 16 year old male. I was itching my neck like right behind my right jaw bone and I noticed a small pea sized lump. You cant see it but if you press on it you can feel it. Could this be lymphoma?

For the past 3 days now I have been having a pain radiating from behind my left ear down to my left side of my neck. It is swollen and hot to the touch. I have taken some Advil for the pain, and that does not seem to be doing anything for it. I have i ced it and the pain is still there. I have discovered that there is a lump right under the ear where the jaw connects. That whole side of my face is swollen, hot and painful.

Fast forward a year and I am still not the same person.The lump in my ear/neck area is constantly tender and painful. The majority of the time I have an earache. This has been causing me discomfort and pain now for a year! I feel dismissed by the doctor I saw and cannot afford to keep going back without results. I need a direction or suggestions as to what to do next. I am losing sleep over this and feel an urgency to press on. I am a female, age 42, 5;3", 135 lbs.Thank you.

Hi, I just joined so I'm not sure if I am going to word this right.. But over the last 4 days I have had a pain in the right side of my jaw. It's painful to yawn and to fully open my mouth. There is now a small bump located directly under my ear, behind my earlobe on my neck inbetween my jaw line and the large muscle on the right side of my neck, that little soft spot or pocket inbetween the skull and jaw....

I saw my GP the next day or so and he ran sinus CT and amylase/lipase - all normal. Had pressure in my jaw and ears a bit. Passed an exam with my neurologist, but we ran a brain MRI just two weeks ago - also normal. Then my stomach started to ache and I've had some minor aches in my back. We ran an abdominal ultrasound last week but I still don't have results. So, I'm trying to be patient for those test results and now...

I have this small lump behind my left jaw line and under ear for almost 1 years now, it does feel pain and uncomfortable, I went the 2 different ENT doctors and did 2 CT scan, one with ink one without both report come out nothing....... but the small pain and feeling it still there also feel pain infront of my ear and inside mouth around jaw join but open or close jaw doen't feel pain. So should I try a different ENT again?? or can this be cancer?? what should I do now??

s glands, you have quite a few glands in funny places, the most common are under jaw on sides of neck, you notice them when your throat is sore, but there are little ones that are marble like/ atleast in my case right behind ears. I think this could be what they are, not sure why they swell up, my son who is 22 gets them all the time, there for a while then gone. His DR, says nothing to worry about. I hope this helps.

s not that painful but before it felt like I had strained a muscle in my neck and the lump itself is quite tender to touch. It isn't massive and certainly not noticeable as you have to actually touch my neck to feel it and there is a size difference between my right and left sides of my neck in terms of swelling.

I went back into dentist and they tried to drain the hard ping pong sized lump in my lower right cheek. I left feeling less pain, but more swelling and bigger lump/more hard. I started new anitbiotic Clinamycin for 3 days and began getting sore throat, swollen neck, larger lump. I went to my doctor since my dentist was on call and instructed me to. The doctor gave me a shot of rocephan and sent me to an oral surgeon the same day. They lanced the site but nothing drained.

It seems that they should be, the "lump in throat" feeling started first, for about a week, and then the gland hurt in my neck, and then that stopped and traveled up to just below my ear, and then went over to just below my ear on the other side...

Not affecting eye sight or any symtoms linked to it. Found softish non moveable lump behind ear feels like its attached to jaw bone. But if i open mouth or turn head lump disapears.... Most symtoms popped up after i found that lump behind ear i was thinking most of my symtoms could be caused by anxiety and depression because i had no problems before i found it ... i have had alot of problems over the last couple of months and ill fully explain firstly i have been having alot of pains in my joints (arms, shoulders,neck,toes ankles and knees) then theres the mouth problems i have a hard lump on my loer gum under my tongue behind my front teeth my tongue is coated white and yellow and i have a small red spot on tongue im going to mention the neck pain again becuse it is really bad down one side and my jaw hurts too any ideas would mean allot ?

I forgot about it until yesterday when I was showering washing behind the ears with soap when I felt two more lumps (that are not painful) behind the ear on the neck area. I am Hypothyroid and last year I was experiencing throbbing in the ear. They ran tests and found I have a very small lump on my thyroid not to be alarmed too small for biopsy. For the past 8 months or so I have been experiencing pain in the ear when I sleep on that side.
