Avatar f tn My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!

Avatar f tn If an abscess in the teeth goes unattended the infection will spread into the jaw and cause a lump. You need to get checked out ASAP!! If left untreated, the infection will spread into your blood stream.

I HAD A FOLLOW UP WITH MY DOCTOR AND ASKED ABOUT THE LUMP. I DIDN'T REALLY GET AND ANSWER HE JUST PUT ME ON MORE ANITBOTICS. THIS TIME I AM ON 150MG CLEOCIN 4X A DAY FOR 10 DAYS. I HAVE THREE DAYS LEFT AND THE LUMP STILL HAS NOT WENT DOWN. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PAIN ON THE INSIDE OF MY MOUTH.
Avatar n tn Hi. Can you give more details about yourself and that lump? How old are you? When did that lump first appear? How large is it? Do you have other symptoms such as fever? If you're really bothered by your condition, it might be best for you to consult with a doctor to have it properly evaluated and treated. From your descriptions it seems to me that you're having an infection in that area. It doesn't seem to be cancer, which usually presents in that area as a painless mass.
Avatar n tn Hello, I also have a lump (size of a pea) on the left side of my jaw. It doesn't hurt, and I realized I had it about 3 days ago. The pea doesn't move and is situated just bellow my 5th tooth, in the middle of the jaw, not looking down, but looking sidewards. You need to press to feel it, otherwise the skin masks it. I do not have a cold, or any other symptĂ´me. I am wondering what to do. Go to a doctor, but maybe he/she will have no clue.
Avatar m tn s not that painful but before it felt like I had strained a muscle in my neck and the lump itself is quite tender to touch. It isn't massive and certainly not noticeable as you have to actually touch my neck to feel it and there is a size difference between my right and left sides of my neck in terms of swelling.
Avatar n tn Yesterday I've discovered a lump under my right jaw line which I believe is a swollen lymph node. I've always had a very hard bean-shaped lymph node on the left side of my jaw about 1-2 cm in diameter, and now there's a elastic painless lump of about 5 cm in diameters on the right side. Before it developed I could hardly feel the lymph nodes on the right side of my jaw.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have found a lump under my mouth, which is right below my gums by my jaw. What can possibly be there that would be a lump? It has me worried....I have an appt for the ENT soon but it is driving me nuts. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!
Avatar f tn What you have described in an infection in your jaw most likely caused by the nerve in the tooth dying. This should be promptly treated by to prevent further destruction of your jaw bone, adjacent teeth and possibly maxillary sinus. A cyst or tumor is less likely but certainly possible. In any case you should see your dentist or an oral surgeon as soon as possible. Antibiotics will not cure this infection!
5887486 tn?1376104591 Hi, just last night, I was laying in bed, and rolled to my right side, and as I turned my head over on my pillow, I noticed it was painful. Today. I've noticed it all day, there is a slight lump on the right side under my jaw. It is moveable, and isn't excruciating just yet. When I apply pressure, or face my head downwards, it gets very sore. I am very curious to know if this is heard of commonly or not, and if it is a serious problem. Thank you!
Avatar f tn i have a hard lump under the bone in my jaw i went to the dentist he gave me antibiotics but they dont seem to be working its really hard and a bit bigger than the size of a tooth its unmoveable and not sore more like pressure what should i do?
Avatar f tn It was as though I pulled something in my neck. Today I woke up and its very tender and there is a lump about the size of a cherry just to the right of the center about an inch from the tip of my chin. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I also have a swollen lump below my jaw in the right side - it may not be a lymph node - it is possible that it is your submandibular salivary gland. Check with your dentist - they know the anatomy of your mouth and jaw area. Typically the submandibular gland will swell without any pain, whereas swollen lymph nodes typically do exhibit pain of some sort.
1082629 tn?1256232086 It may be a cyst or cancer in your jaw bone although if its in your neck and its a lymph node, your doctors should be managing that area rather than an oral surgeon. Still, it would be best to get it checked out and definitely find out what it is.

Avatar n tn I had ductal carcinoma in situ and invasive ductal carcinoma. It DID hurt for years! My mammogram finally showed a change this year when it became invasive. The area of spiculation was 2 cm and assumed to be benign calcifications for ten Years! Get a second , third or fourth opinion if needed and get a biopsy.
Avatar n tn Prior to taking the Clindamycin, I had taken Bactrim for an infection and Augumentin. When the lump started I had taken some Augumentin for about a week. The lump has now been there a total of almost 3 weeks. When I went to the dentist on Wed. he told me I was now resistant to both of the prior antibiotics and he was giving me the Clindamycin now. Every time after I take the med. my mouth feels dry and I get an awful taste in my mouth. He also gave me 600 mg of Ibprofun and Tylonel 3.

Avatar n tn I was warned of the possibility of temporary or permanent numbness because of the nerve in lower jaw. I did had the apico. A large infection was discovered, the tooth roots were shortened and the infection was cleaned out. I was put on antibiotics again. It's been four weeks since the apico and the lower right half of my lip, my chin, and my gums are still numb. I have had check-ups with the perio every week.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I've noticed for the past day now that right under my jaw (left side) and right above my neck, I feel a bump under my skin. I'm not sick or anything, I'm not allergic to anything, or I'm in college and doing the same routine every day. I can sort of feel it, but it doesn't hurt at all. I just googled "bump under jaw" and came across this article: http://www.webmd.
