Lump in breast ultrasound

Common Questions and Answers about Lump in breast ultrasound

Avatar f tn ultrasound performed from 8-12 o'clock. No suspicious cystic or solid mass is identified. No sonographic abnormality is noted. Is this good? Also, why didn't the ultrasound pick up on the lump? I can still feel it. I was told because they have no prior mammograms to compare they want to wait six months to have another mammogram. I'm uneasy about this.
1904872 tn?1325826015 On 11/11/11 I had a breast ultrasound and the doctor discovered a lump and two cysts on my right breats. He asked me to come back in 6 months. Sometimes it hurt and lately I feel uncomfortable because the bones near my armpit sometimes hurt. Should I be worried? Thanks in advance. My family has a history of cancer. I went for tumor makers test last week and the results are ok.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 21 years old and about 2 weeks ago while preparing for a bath I discovered an painless oval, movable, rubbery lump in my upper right breast about the diameter of a ping pong ball. I went the next morning to my physician, who evaluated it and seemed concerned, and made me an appointment for a mammo and ultrasound at the local hospital, and also with a general surgeon on the 16th of this month. They did not give me a mammo, because they said I was too young.
Avatar f tn You have no reason to worry. The ultrasound can be very clear defining the lump being fluid filled.Cysts do not turn into cancer and can be left alone. If the cyst becomes too painful or too big,it can be aspirated by a fine needle syringe.Try to limit your caffeine intake and salt also.Relax dear and enjoy your life, you have nothing to worry about.. Congratulation on your benign finding. We are always happy about these good news!
Avatar f tn but if there seems to something that feels different, or you notice a change in size of the lump in the 3 O'clock position of your right breast (think of each breast as being the face of a clock), you can always go back for a recheck sooner than the 6-mth follow-up recommended.
Avatar n tn I had a mamagram and they found a spot and said it looked like a clogged milk gland. They wanted to do a ultrasound in six months. The ultrasound showed it didn't grow, they said it looked like a clogged milk gland by the color on the ultrasound and it didn't change in size. I didn't worry until my friend had the same thing but much bigger and hers was cancer. How do they know mine is not. And if mine is and it starts to grow, I have one year until my next mamagram.
Avatar n tn The others are what it looks like on imaging. In many cases, a doctor can feel pretty confident in what the lump feels like but will order imaging (mammogram and/or ultrasound) to confirm his suspicions or to make certain that there is nothing that will require further evaluation. If anything shows up on the mammogram or ultrasound that cannot be explained, further evaluation will likely be recommended.
Avatar n tn I have had a lump in my left breast for a few years actually and I am just now getting it looked at. I have not had health insurance and still do not. I just went yesterday and had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. The place where the lump is was scanned initially and then I had to go back in and another part of my left breast was scanned because the radiologist saw calcifications. At this point, I am pretty worried. What is the next step, a biopsy?
1091198 tn?1256877872 the tech was not able to get good pics because she couldn't maipulate my implants which have capular contrature, any way she said I should get an ultrasound , she turned in the pics she could get which I don't understand why.... when she did said she couldnt get good pics , anyway I had the ultrasound done & thats where they found the lump...
Avatar f tn 7mm diameter irregular hypoechoic solid mass in the lower outer quadrant of the R breast. Ultrasound guided biopsy is recommended for further evaluation. Can you tell me what does it mean. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I have a painful bump on my left breast. It's moveable. Is it ok to go have an ultrasound now at this time in my cycle to ease my fears?
Avatar n tn I am 32 years old and have recently found a lump in my breast. My doctor sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound which both came back normal. The results said "seen brightly echogenic fibroglandular appearing architecture adjacent to isoechoic adipose, no cyst or focal solid lesion identified". The area around the lump stays very sore.
Avatar f tn I just had my breast ultrasound, and there is a description, written hypoechoic nodules noted at both breasts, measuring 1.3 x 0.5 cm (right breast, 9 to 10 o'clock) and 1.3 x 0.4 cm (left breast, 2 to 3 o'clock). Rest of the parenchyma is unremarkable..Impression: Bilateral Breast Nodules,as described. Do I have to worry with the result? What should I do?I feel anxious!
Avatar n tn ) Had mammogram and ultrasound- only revealed seroma in left breast where implant used to sit. Again large lump reappeared in May same spot- had ultrasound at different imaging place and with a radiologist who spent 1/2 on the breast. He found seroma and dense breasts but that is all. This extremely hard lump feels like an extension of my rib cage. It can get bigger especially with my period. but you CAN NOT move it- it feels as hard as bone and is definitely a lump...
Avatar n tn It coulld have been a cyst , but that would have shown on the ultrasound. It would be best to get a repeat ultrasound in 6 months to 1 year. A negative BIRADS implies that there is no suspicion of malignancy. BIRADS is used by radiologist to classify lesions as malignant, benign or suspicious. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar n tn What is the difference in the feel of a cycstic lump compared with a cancerous lump?
Avatar f tn I have had a lump/nodule in my breast for over 2 years. I have an annual mammogram and both have shown nothing. My doctor says to just watch it. Should I be concerned and pursue this further?
Avatar n tn im 16 and ive found a breast lump. ive had a biopsy and it missed so there gonna remove the full lump. wat is the results likely to be? is there a percentage it could be cancer?
Avatar f tn i found a tender lump in july, i went to the dr--she couldn't feel it but ordered an ultrasound, the u/s was normal. the lump hasn't gone away. i saw another dr on the 12th of this month who said he could feel it and referred to it as a cyst--i had another u/s which was normal. since my appt on the 12th the area has been very tender. during the u/s i didn't have any pain. the u/s was done on the 13th. what's going on? if something can be felt shouldn't it show on an u/s?
Avatar n tn I found a lump in my breast and I had it checked out and my OBGYN said she had never felt one so deep and under my breast tissue before. So I go and have it checked out and all they do is an ultrasound. The woman never could see anything on the ultrasound but could feel it and it kind of hurts. Then they just said it was breast tissue. Should I go get a second opinion or not worry about it?????
Avatar f tn I felt a slight lump in my breast, which doesnot pain normally but mild pain starts before my mensus. So i went to see a gynecologist she prescribed me Simrose 1000 tablet for 3months. Is it safe to take it and what are the side effects of it and should i under go some more diagnosis before taking this treatment. What are the causes of lump and how severe it could be if treatment not taken properly and how to detect the severity of the lump in breast? I am not married.
Avatar n tn I am 20 years old and have had an ultrasound about 5 years ago which determined I have a non-cancerous lump in my left breast. I will admit I used to try and pump small bits of milk out of it when I was younger out of curiosity (very rarely), and little to nothing would come out. Maybe the lump is a result of this? Today it feels like I have 2 cysts instead of just one, I'm looking into having another ultrasound when I can finally afford it... What is inside a cyst?
Avatar n tn i have a lump in my left breast since 9 months. Now i am pregnant with 7 months. I am worried about the lump what it might be. I dont have any pain or any other symptoms.
Avatar f tn However if the lump is a Fibroadenoma ( solid ) and seems to have enlarged, you could certainly ask your doctor to have it biopsied,to make sure that it's a fibroadenoma. In my opinion a solid lump in the breast has to be further evaluated. Take care...
Avatar f tn I've been having heavy burning breasts for several months now, but in both breast. They only ordered the ultrasound on the right due to the felt lump. Thank you for any of your thoughts!
Avatar f tn ultrasound the doctor said they didn't see anything on either test, but yet she did a physical exam, felt the lump and when touching the lump it sent shooting pains in my breast up to my armpit and down my arm. Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas or whatever to help me out here. My Mom thinks I should go to my regular doctor and request another mammogram and that I should push the issue because it isn't normal to have such pains, there must be a reason. Just looking for some insight.
