Avatar f tn I'm 27 years old and have recently found a lump near to my armpit in my left breast. There is some movement but feels quite solid and is painful to touch. Can anyone give me any advice before I go see my doctor as if it could just be a swollen gland due to a viral infection I don't want to waste their time.
Avatar m tn My wife has a lump in her left breast which is increasing slowly and is painful sometimes including the whole left arm. This discussion is related to Quarter size lump.
Avatar m tn Hello, Such a lump could result from an injury, infection, cyst or fibrocystic change. If you had previous breast injuries, fat cells in the breast tissue may be damaged and produce a firm, painful lump in the breast. If lumps are accompanied by breast tenderness and redness, it may suggest an infection. Similarly, breast cysts can also produce firm, tender lumps in the breast that change in size and seem to appear and disappear as your monthly hormone levels change.
Avatar n tn Dear deniseto: Breast mastitis is an infection that is most common in women who are breast-feeding. However, mastitis can occur in any woman at any time. Mastitis usually refers to a benign (non-cancerous) condition that usually presents as red, hot, painful or inflamed breasts and can occur with other flui-like symptoms such as headache, nausea, fever or chills. This type of mastitis can usually be successfully treated with antibiotics.

Avatar m tn hello forum members, I have a friend who is 48 year old, she complained of redness and pain in the left side of her left breast 3 days ago and when she touched her breast she found a lump, now after 3 days the redness has subsided and still there is a minimal pain on touching and the lump is still there, she is expecting to have her period these days what it could be?? do u think it is not a serious condition bcoz it is a painful lump??
Avatar f tn but she said that it is not guaranteed that the lump will not increase in size in future i have this lump for almost like 2-4 years. the surgery to take the lump off is costing much so i am concerned whtether to get it removed or let it stay, since it is not disfiguring or painful.
Avatar n tn put me on an antibiotic and rechecked my lump yesterday and said that it is probably an infection and to check back in 6 months. Should I be worried or just let him handle it.
Avatar f tn I had a lump in my right breast, then I went to a surgeon he felt the lump and drained some fluids from the lump, then told me he was going to remove it that day which was in mar 2010 now its may 2010 and the same lump is back and in the same spot. the only thing the surgeon said was the biopsy did not show cancer. so my question is how could this return again and the same spot. I am 35 years old.
Avatar f tn I can find all kids of comments about breast lumps for women in their reproductive years, but none for menopausal women. I have a very sore protruding breast lump at the base line of my left breast, that started out feeling very much like a fyst(sorry do not know the correct spelling) but now it has grow much larger in the last week, does not feel mobile like before and is very sore. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn my mom has a breast lump in her right breast and it is itchy and sometimes painful. is this a sign of brest cancer?.. pls answer pls.. i am worried my mom is 54 years old..
Avatar n tn I am not a doctor. However, my little girl stuck herself in the nipple of her left breast. It was warm, painful, and swollen. I took her to the er and she ended up being okay. Find out if your daughter poked herself with anything by accident. Regardless, you are worried so take her to the er.
Avatar n tn I have a breast lump now with nipple discharge. It started out as a lump now I have brusing and a larger raised area. Now with increased pain even in armpit area and a lump there as well. It is difficult to raise arm because of pain. I have had no trauma. I thought at first it was nothing until it started being very uncomfortable. Have appointment soon. Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn Underneath the skin there is a small lump that is about 1/2 inch across. When I pinch the same small area of the left breast I get only about 1/8 inch of just skin, so obviously something abnormal is going on just under the surface of the right breast. When I pinch the entire nipple and surrounding area on the left breast I can feel a nodule that is maybe 1 inch in diameter. With the right breast the nodule feels about 1.
Avatar f tn Another is that this can represent an infection of some glands in the areola or even the breast tissues themselves. Uncommonly, persistent breast discharge may be a sign of a condition called galactorrhea which may be related to some hormonal abnormality (pituitary problems). Lumps with discharge may also represent fibrocystic disease, or less commonly a malignancy. As there can be several causes I would recommend that this be evaluated by your doctor. Regards and God bless.
Avatar m tn Hello, looking for help About 10 years ago I found a lump on right breast, and had a biopsy performed, after the biopsy I had puss that would leak through the stiches and for a few years after this became very painfull, I went back a had surgery they removed all the ducts from that breast and that didn't help either, I completed a second biopsy and that showed nothing.
Avatar f tn I think that you should seek medical attention for this painful lump on your breast. It sounds pretty much like an infection to me too and you might need some sort of medication to clear that up. I hope that you have made an appointment with your doctor..if untreated this infection could get worse. Best wishes..
Avatar f tn Last night I did lots of research and the La leche league says it's okay to nurse give milk from the infected breast because the infection is not in the milk but the duct tissue itself.
Avatar f tn This is the 2nd infection I have had in this same breast. I go back to my surgeon in a couple weeks. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn If lumps are accompanied by breast tenderness and redness, it may suggest an infection. Similarly, breast cysts can also produce firm, tender lumps in the breast that change in size and seem to appear and disappear as your monthly hormone levels change. They often cause pain before your period is due and improve when the period starts. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn In December, I noticed a change in a lump and was sore under my arm and breast cage had dr. ordered mammogram. Radiologist said mammogram was pain could come from under wire bra. Avatar n tn A painful lump in armpit that comes and goes can be a swollen lymphnode, in response to fungal infection or sweat dermatitis or infection of hair follicles. It can also be an enlarged lymphnode due to malignancy of breast (rare in males but not impossible). At times it is a cyst too and this can get infected. Lipoma is also a possibility. Consult your PCP for an evaluation. A CT scan can be confirmatory or a fine needle biopsy.
Avatar f tn My husband has a lump in his left breast tip(nipple area). There's pain when pressed too.. It's been a month now.. The lump is not growing but remains in the same size. what is the real reason? Is it serious?
Avatar f tn Hi two years ago I had a lump in my right breast, My Dr. did an ultrasound & recomended me to have a biopsy done, while I was having a biopsy the fluid popped, My doctor told me that it was just a cyst & I don't need to be worried about. 3 weeks ago I noticed that I have a new lump in the same breast My Dr. did an ultrasound and she told me it's a cyst, she did a needle Aspiration to remove the fluid.
Avatar m tn i am 36 years of age and i have a very painfull lump in my left breast with a lot of sticky creamy discharge and im very concerned
Avatar f tn hay i have found a lump under my armpit it is about the same size as a pea ut has grown a little in 2 day's i went to see a doctor today and he has refered me to a breast person he has said its not a cist so do u reacon u could tell me wot u think it is :) x
Avatar n tn Because he pierced his nipples in the past, there's also the possibility that the lump is an infection in that area. It's probably best to wait for the biopsy results. Speculating about the diagnosis at this point can only add to your anxiety.
