Avatar f tn About 8 days ago she went to the doctor with strep-throat. Now today I noticed she has a lump behind her right ear, should I be concerned? I read it could just be her body fighting the infection. Should I get her to the doctor or should I just keep an eye on the lump for a few days? She is 8 years old.

Avatar n tn Hello, I have had a lump behind my right ear for approximately 18 months now and it has been progressively getting bigger. It started with pain in the area behind the ear, along the jawline and suddenly I discovered a tiny lump of about 1mm diameter. Over the last 18 months, this lump has grown to almost 18mm diameter.(less than 1inch) i have had several ultrasounds done which all came back as a possibility of a slow growing sebaseous cyst.
Avatar n tn i looked where it hurt and there is a hard bump/lump behind her ear on the bone part (not on the ear itself). i touched it and it hurts. it's about as big as an eraser on top of a pencil or a pea. it is not red or anything (skin color). i get very worried about these kind of things and will give her dr. a call but in the mean time i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be? like i said, i am worried.

Avatar m tn I have a lump behind my left ear. It hasn't hurt for the first days I noticed it. but it is slowly starting to become more painful to the touch, and even when I'm not touching it. It's about pea-size. Hard, and not movable. If anything else I also suffer from lost appetite, and little nausea, I get headaches sometimes too if that means anything. That's it. I'm 20, and female.
Avatar m tn The last three days I have had a pee sized lump behind my ear. It is very painfull and its causing my neck to cramp up and the pain stretches to the back of my head. It is worst when Im lying down. If I toutch it the pain is extrem. There is no skin visible change in color other than a very small lump. If the pain was not so bad I would not be soo worried, but it really hurts. Anyone have an idea of what it is.
125112 tn?1217277462 Hi there, About 5 years ago my husband noticed a hard bump (non movable) right behind my right ear, in the bony area. Thought nothing of it but would mention it to the ENT. He walked away muttering, questioning mastoiditis. These last few years, I have developed another firm, non movable lump just under it but oddly, it seems to reduce in size a little. They are near perfectly round. They do not hurt and no discoloration of the skin. Occasionally my ear aches just a little on that side.

Avatar n tn Hi All, I am a 23 year old female and about 3 months ago I found a hard, immovable lump behind my right ear. There is one behind my left ear too but it is much smaller. I went to my Dr and he said it was just part of my normal anatomy. I wasn't convinced. I went to see another Dr who said the same but done a blood test anyway. The results came back clear.

Avatar f tn You are probably having pressure symptoms from lump behind the ear. It is difficult to comment without examination. Lump behind the ear could be an abscess, folliculitis (hair follicle infection), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a cyst, an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue).
Avatar m tn Had a small growth under my skin behind my left ear about a year ago, didnt think much of it, until it started progressively growing bigger. now its about the size of a large pea protruding out of my skin. At first i thought it was a pimple and tried squeezing it, poking it, nothing comes out. its squeezable, but hard if that makes any sense. its yellowish in color with what looks like little veins in and around it. does this sound like anything i should be worried about?

Avatar n tn Do you beleive the gram stain was imperative in treating an ear infection? She also recommended the aspiration of a lump I had noticed. My other dog, a 12 year old German Shepard, recently had surgery for mammary cancer by a different vet who believed that an aspiration biopsy was not accurate in this case. In doing research on mammary cancer I found many sites that felt this type of biopsy was quite inaccurate.
Avatar n tn I have a firmed hard lump in the back of my neck behind the ear under the skull bone. I can feel that it is starting to affect my left ear. The doctors thought it was a sweelling gland but is not. The lump is very firm. What could possibly be? One of the doctor's think is a bone grown.
215234 tn?1305146561 Hi, I'm hoping for some help with the following problem, as having just finished a course of antibiotics ( Azithromycin 500) for a suspected "lymph node infection" which apparently is pressing on the Trigeminal nerve. I am still finding the pain unbearable, & feel its only subsided slightly.
Avatar m tn To understand why I do what I do, it is helpful to explain the philosophy behind the treatment by comparing it against, say, the Western antiviral treatment philosophy. The antiviral treatment aims at blocking the replication process of the virus thereby controlling the progression of the disease. This other treatment that I have been trying aims at adjusting the body status of the patient so that gradually the environment is less and less fitting for the survival of the virus in the body.
