Avatar n tn i was on this site, and i have a lump behind my ear that just appeared, and it was there for some time, then as i stated i googled lump behind my ear, and this page came up, on someone's comment someone mention a hot towel placing it behind the ear , for 15mins at a time as many times as you like i guess, but anyway i did this i actually boiled my water and wet it and took it as hot as i could and the lump is actually starting to go down ...
Avatar n tn But just lately my wisom teeth started growing out even more and the lower ones are impacted(epecially the one on the right side) , and I started feeling pressure behind my ears and most mornings when I wake up the lump behind my ear feels extra hard and slightly bigger, but throughout the day it goes down and the pressure goes away.
Avatar n tn I am having the same problem with pain on the right side of my head, right beneath my ear. The pain comes and goes like contractions and the duration is about 30 seconds at a time. It doesn't matter what position I am in. I am really scared and I was wondering if anyone got a diagnosis from the doctor before I go.
Avatar m tn i found a pea size lump just behind my ear at the corner of my jawbone.. it doesn't move or hurt. does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?
Avatar n tn I have had this for quite some time...and it comes and goes. I have read that it is more then likely a node...and when the nodes get larger/sore...it could mean that its an indicator of something like an infection ( sinus ) or other. I dont have any other nodes swell up...and for example today...I dont feel anything back there...not sore...and its basically gone. are your experieces similar...i am sorry I dont have much answrs...but hoping someone else can answer both of our questions....
Avatar n tn I'm a 24 year old female-A couple of months ago I woke up with a painful pea to marble sized lump under the skin on my ear. It is located right where my ear connects to my head, on the bottom. Like if I were to pull my earlobe away from my head, it is in that "flap" of skin. Because it was painful and hard, I assumed it was a boil as I have had these in the past. I treated it with warm washclothes and heating pads, but the lump never softened or drained, however, the pain did go away.
4542756 tn?1356193948 I came home today and noticed that my cat's right ear is a bit tilting down. I checked it and found out that there seems a lump inside his ear. And based on my reaearch here, I think it's hematoma. It's still small but I'm so worried right now and can't wait to see the vet tomorrow.
Avatar n tn I have fullness under my ears and jaw pain. It comes and goes and can be one side or the other or both. Sometimes it is just uncomfortable and sometimes very painfull. Because I have a LOT of allergies I've always assumed that was what it was. I usually feel a little better after I take a benadryl and aspirin. However I would love this problem to stop occuring. I was given a nose spray by the allergist and this seems to help as well but not completly.
Avatar n tn i have no insurance and i had to go through emergency to get a lump behind my ear lanced about a montha ago. i am wondering if these issues are related and what i can do on my own to remedy the situation before i am forced to go through emergency again...it really ***** to work to 6 days a week to pay bills an rent, not be able to afford insurance an then when somethin serious comes along to be scared to go through emergency more than once a year bc of the cost...
Avatar n tn I have had 2 cervical fushions and believe that my ear pain comes from my neck injury. I hurt in my ear behind my ear and in my face....I also have severe head aches that are one sided....Good luck to you...
Avatar m tn Hello All ... I just found this forum and am hoping that it can give me a little piece of mind. I've had a lump ( hard / sore ) behind my left year for a couple years now. It has been disturbing my left ear as my ear "crackles" when swollowing and the lump itself almost always feel sore. It does not move when pressed but will increase in soreness / sometimes pain when pressed. I was sent to an ENT who then sent me for more tests ...
Avatar n tn I have the exact same lump and I heard that it can be linked to surfing. Lying on the board and paddeling - the XP is right at the pressure point on the board and can get inflamed. The body protects itself by building up cartilage and the end result is your golf ball XP.
Avatar n tn The lump on my neck isn't behind my ear - but below my ear at the base of my neck. And I've had it for about three years - it started small and grew to its current size, then stopped growing. I'm doubt that changes your suggestions, but just in case... And to answer your questions - I would say that it is firm and definitely fixed. I can move the skin over it, but not the actual lump. Thanks for your thoughts.
Avatar f tn Also the feeling of swallowing and ear discomfort and around that area. I have been told it is viral, irritated by weather and acid reflux. I have had all my blood work done, ultrasound on my neck and endoscopy. All have been cleared, I am apparently healthy apart from the acid reflux. I feel I have been incorrectly diagnosed. I have given up as this had almost gone one for 1 year, however this feed has motivated me to go back and get answers. maybe I need a biopsy?
Avatar n tn I am so glad I found this forum. My almost 11 month old daughter has a hard lump behind her right ear and has had it since birth. I was told it was just the way her head formed and not to worry. I got a second opinion and this doc said to keep an eye on it because it does seem to move. It hasn't gotten any bigger and it doesn't cause any pain to my knowledge. We are going in for her 12 month visit and I am going to request an Xray just to put my mind at ease!
149081 tn?1242401432 I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I've got a herniated disc in my neck which is putting pressure on some nerves (may be having surgery soon on that sucker) The dr's and I felt that the ear pain and ringing was maybe from the herniated cervical disc. But now I read your comments and am wondering if it is my thyroid. I am just about ready to give up on all this crap, I am soooooo tired of dealing with it, pain and doctors, and insurance companies etc.
Avatar f tn There is a mild throbbing --comes and goes -- on the opposite side of my head, above the ear, inside the cranium. These are very new symproms. I also felt tired and slightly noxious today (could be unrelated. I am a 68 y/o female of average weight, (5'5" height and 146 lbs) relatively healthy with history of high blood pressure that has been under control with Benazepril Hctz 20/25 mg. I also had bilateral lumpectomy 3 years ago (DCIS and minimally invasive in-situ lobular carcinoma.
Avatar n tn I had ear pain in both ears for about 1 mo, my right ear hurt more. The pain was not that of an ear infection, it was different mixed with hot burning feeling. I was feeling good 1 week starting 2 days before I took my first pill. My ear pain is back but it's more of the burning feeling I'm experiencing and seems to be changing from ear to ear (one more than the other or both at the same time).
964695 tn?1247289633 a rare reoccuring boil in my groin area aswell sinilair to the one on my back..comes and goes. But my neck lump has never shrunk. So my main question is..."what exactly can cause this? is it possibly cancer? can it be removed? is it potentionally life threatening? and can it cause all my fatigue, sleep issues appetite ect? thank you very much for your time...
Avatar n tn I get sore thoats off and on and sometimes runny nose like having a cold but it comes and goes. At night when I lie on my side I feel like theres fluid draining from my ear. Sometimes I feel my ear is plugged. Sometimes my left ear feels sore, and plugged but I have no lump on that ear. Did you ever figure your problem?

Avatar n tn Both my parents and doctor just brush it off. I usually just snort some and it goes away. I know that sounds rediculous but it works for me.
Avatar n tn I have a huge cyst on my inner right thigh that is the size of a ping-pong ball. It is a soft lump on top of a hard lump and is soooooo painful that it is hard to walk. Currently, the area is red, with the top part purple. It is enlongated and rubs my other thigh when I walk. So far, I have been soaking in an Espon salt bath and/or holding a hot part water, part epsome salt compress to it. It is very painful.
Avatar n tn it seems very topical, like a mild infection on the very outer part of the ear opening, away from the ear drum. it comes and goes. i know ear pain can be a symptom of throat cancer, which doesn't help my peace of mind. i'm 43, no tobacco or alchohol use, exercise daily, eat very well. i suspect this throat thing is sinusitis related (its ebbing and flowing for days or hours makes me think there isn't any lump or growth; i have no problems swallowing.
Avatar f tn Generally breast pain that comes and goes and disappears in between is due to fibroadenosis. This is a benign condition and often there is no lump associated with it. It is often a symptom of pre menstrual syndrome. Pain felt primarily under left breast is often due to acidity and gastric reflux and since this increased in pregnancy, this could be the likely cause. It can also be due to costochondritis. Wear good support bras. Eat healthy. Avoid excess salt intake and excess caffeine.
Avatar f tn (base of head) I have had a dulling ache behind my right arm. Felt weak, and just a dull ache. Not sure what that was. As far as foot pain... The only time that I can remember was last,,, fall??,,,, I think. I was sitting in my recliner chair with my feet crossed over and I had heel pain on both feet. I had to keep repositioning my feet because it was hurting so bad. ewford - Thanks once again...
Avatar f tn I actually was freaked b/c it reminded me of when I was pregnant and the baby would kick--it's like a quick little jerk or something--calves, abdomen (sometimes). It comes and goes---some days I don't have it at all. I did have the weakness and sluggish feeling when I was first diagnosed, but didn't have this twitchy thing. Of course, if you google muscle twitching, the first things that pop up are ALS and MS--which totally freaked me out!
Avatar f tn I have had floaters since I was about 18 and the diagnosis has always been PVD, but this flashing was new starting last year. A few months ago, I had really bad neck pain on the left, along with a lump behind my ear and had an Xray, which of course was negative. My PCP said it was muscle strain and gave me Flexeril and Iburofen. The pain went away, lump is still there, but of course nothing was on the Xray so the doctor dismissed it as a lymph node.
