Avatar f tn About 8 days ago she went to the doctor with strep-throat. Now today I noticed she has a lump behind her right ear, should I be concerned? I read it could just be her body fighting the infection. Should I get her to the doctor or should I just keep an eye on the lump for a few days? She is 8 years old.
Avatar f tn Painless lump behind the ear could be Lump behind the ear could be folliculitis (hair follicle infection), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a cyst, an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue). Avatar f tn I have a lump behind my ear, which seems to be far enough under the scalp. However, when I first noticed it, I rubbed it and doing so gave me an electric shock. I have since stopped doing this as it is not very comfortable or of any benefit. When just gently placing my finger down on it I can move the lump around, with no electric shock, so it is only when I either rub it or tap it with my finger. Why is this? An answer would be greatly appreciated.

I also have found I have one on top of my head which only small but again sore. 1418907 tn?1282244204 My hears have hurt for about four days now and feel wet inside but nothing really comes out. For around three months I have had a lump behind my ear that I thought was a swollen lymph node, it is behind the ear that hurts less weird enough. My neck is also sore and my head hurts. Today I figured I must have an ear infection and went to the ER since I don't have any insurance and I can never manage to get in the free clinic around here.

Avatar n tn He did not need a shunt and has met all of his milestones up to this time. I recently discovered a lump on his scalp behind his left ear. The lump flattens when you press on it and inflates when you let go. It is more of a round shape, almost the size of a dime. It has no color that I can see. It lies under his hair. Sometimes the lump goes away temporarily. It is easy to make it reappear by making him laugh or when he cries or is straining in some way. It does not pulsate that I know of.
Avatar m tn Well about 5 years ago maybe more at the age of 9 I found a lump behind my right ear it was movable and was absolutely painless I forgot about it and didn't tell anybody because I was so young.
Avatar m tn Hey everyone, I am hoping you can help me figure out what this lump is behind my ear is. Not literally on my ear, but when you feel behind your ear, the bony part. about an inch or 1.5 inches away from my ear there is a painless lump (circular) about the size of a blueberry. It is difficult to tell if it is hard or squishy so I can't really say. All I can say is that it has been there for about a month maybe more. Has not grown is size that ive noticed.
Avatar m tn It all started two weeks ago when I noticed a painful scab on the top left side of my head. After a few days of having this painful scab, I developed a lump behind my head, also on the left by my hair line. A day after this, another lump appeared right above the other one which caused me to go to the ER to get it checked out since I was worried.
Avatar m tn Had a small growth under my skin behind my left ear about a year ago, didnt think much of it, until it started progressively growing bigger. now its about the size of a large pea protruding out of my skin. At first i thought it was a pimple and tried squeezing it, poking it, nothing comes out. its squeezable, but hard if that makes any sense. its yellowish in color with what looks like little veins in and around it. does this sound like anything i should be worried about?
Avatar m tn I have a semi-hard lump directly behind my ear resting on the bone right behind my ear. It feels almost like cartilage. It used to be about the size of a pimple, but it just keeps getting larger. I recently checked it and it is about an inch in length now. The lump occasionally itches and seems to just keep growing. It doesn't hurt at all and is slightly movable. Any thoughts on what this might be??? Anyone worried??
Avatar f tn My son recently noticed a hard lump behind his left ear. He has also complained of back pain. Any possible suggestions?
Avatar n tn the hard lump on the bottom of occipital could be due to swollen lymph nodes behind the ear and head due to different infections like scalp infection, allergies and cough / cold. Check for anemia, endocrinopathies, electrolyte abnormalities and dehydration, micronutrient deficiencies etc could cause dizziness, headaches, and achy legs. Consult a physician for detailed examination and relevant intervention. MRI brain should also be done to check for any tumors in the brain.
