Avatar m tn Over the last month a have a lump behind my ear, it's been growing a lot every week. It's now about the size of my ear lobe. It's right behind the lobe where jawbone crease is. It's sore but not painful at all an it's firm but seems kinda soft on top. Basically it's not soft or hard.. Kinda medium. I have had a gullbladder infection (or so the ER told me) a few months back.
Avatar f tn I have a hard non-movable lump behind my left ear. It is not sensitive to the touch, but it does hurt. I haven't felt well in about a month. I feel extremely tired and ill feeling with a slight sore throat. I do have stuffy sinuses. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Doctor, For the past 5 months or so I have noticed a small lump behind my left ear. This bump is on the bonde behind the ear (NOT the front of the face). The lump is hard, fixed, and not movable. It causes me no pain, and is about the size of a small pea. I have been playing with it lately, and do not think it has changed it size, and if it has it has been very minimal.
Avatar n tn Hi. Can you provide some additional descriptions of that lump? Is it movable or is it fixed against the surrounding tissue? What is its consistency? Hard and bony like your ribs? Or soft and jelly-like? It's too early to tell at this point what that lump is, but if it's soft and movable, it may be a non-cancerous condition like a lipoma (a lump consisting of fat cells) or an epidermal inclusion cyst (an accumulation of oily secretions from skin glands that have been blocked).
Avatar m tn I have a semi-hard lump directly behind my ear resting on the bone right behind my ear. It feels almost like cartilage. It used to be about the size of a pimple, but it just keeps getting larger. I recently checked it and it is about an inch in length now. The lump occasionally itches and seems to just keep growing. It doesn't hurt at all and is slightly movable. Any thoughts on what this might be??? Anyone worried??
Avatar m tn I have a lump behind my left ear. It hasn't hurt for the first days I noticed it. but it is slowly starting to become more painful to the touch, and even when I'm not touching it. It's about pea-size. Hard, and not movable. If anything else I also suffer from lost appetite, and little nausea, I get headaches sometimes too if that means anything. That's it. I'm 20, and female.
Avatar f tn But, aside from that I have had a bump behind my hear for about a year. (its not on the ear itself, its on the bone behind the ear.) And they said it was a cyst and gave me antibiotics, and they made it worse. And the doctor said it wasn't my lymps. It will swell up and i will get dizzy and light headed and have alot of severe pain, and then the next day it will be fine. so... I have no idea whats going on.
Avatar n tn Hello, Most lumps in that site are due to infections or benign tumors of soft tissue origin. Behind the ear there is skin, fat, cartilage, bone, nerves, blood vessels, Lymph nodes, and salivary gland tissue (a portion of the parotid salivary gland extends behind the ear). A bump can develop from any of those structures, and could be due to a tumor (benign or not), an infection (Lymph node or skin), a swollen muscle or salivary gland, etc.
Avatar n tn my brother has a lump behind his right ear which sometimes throbs its were his skull meets the ear it is slightly red and inflamed and sore to touch, any help or advice would be gratefull
1288586 tn?1271904161 but now it has swollen up and hurts a lot on and around the lump and i am having pain in my ear canal also. the lump is a little bigger then a pea. i can't see it, since it's along the bone behind my ear, so my fiance had a look at it and says it's red and looks infected. i also have a lump on the left side of my pelvis, which is also red and sore and my fiance says its starting to go purple.
Avatar n tn s just fibrous tissue or possibly swollen lymph tissue (my gums have been irritated/slightly infected recently). The lump is movable, and feels more pronounced when I clench my teeth. Can anyone please help - it's driving me crazy. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I had my 7 year old at the doctor this morning. I noticed a pea-sized/shaped lump behind his left ear. She said it was an inflamed lymph node. It was reacting to a mosquito bite he had on the back of his head near his hair line. I saw the node first before I even saw the bug bite. She said not to worry about it at it did not need treatment. She said the gland could remain swollen for up to 3 months. Did anyone out there ever have this happen to their child?
Avatar f tn About 8 days ago she went to the doctor with strep-throat. Now today I noticed she has a lump behind her right ear, should I be concerned? I read it could just be her body fighting the infection. Should I get her to the doctor or should I just keep an eye on the lump for a few days? She is 8 years old.
Avatar n tn I also have noticed that my spit gland located under my ear and in the area of where the jaw hinges is either swollen or has some sort of soft movable lump on it. I am getting headaches too. Could all of this be caused by that impacted wisdom tooth?
Avatar m tn Hey everyone, I am hoping you can help me figure out what this lump is behind my ear is. Not literally on my ear, but when you feel behind your ear, the bony part. about an inch or 1.5 inches away from my ear there is a painless lump (circular) about the size of a blueberry. It is difficult to tell if it is hard or squishy so I can't really say. All I can say is that it has been there for about a month maybe more. Has not grown is size that ive noticed.
Avatar f tn My son recently noticed a hard lump behind his left ear. He has also complained of back pain. Any possible suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hiya, I've had a lump behind my left ear for a about 3-4 weeks now.. It's small & hard & it isn't sore or tender at all.. I had a cold about 3 weeks ago so I presumed it was something to do with that, & my Dr. said it was when I went to see him, however, my cold has been & gone & all that's left is a sore throat.. But it isn't sore all the time, just at night when I'm sleeping?

Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 20 year old male. I have had a hard lump behind my right ear for years now...at least 4 or 5. It feels like part of my skull but it is not on the left side of my head so i know that it's not. I asked my doctor about it when i was younger and he said it was a swollen lymph node and should go away at some point. It never did, however, it also never caused me any discomfort so i never got it looked at again.
