Common Questions and Answers about Lump after waxing

lump

Avatar f tn Hello, It looks like irritated hair follicles due to folliculitis skin after waxing. Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lump persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn I had painful lump after waxing. But after a week, the size decreased and the pain is now totally gone. However, there is still a small lump left and is not going away. I don't know if it is a "scar" because I tried to pop it before. Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn Underarm lumps are axillary lymph nodes which could be enlarged secondary to infection or even trauma. They are usually enlarged when a new deodorant is used, after shaving or waxing the underarm area. In your case, trauma seems to be the cause. You should try some hot fomentation and take some over the counter pain relief medications for the pain. If the symptoms still persist after a few days , it would be advisable to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn under my right armpit i tend to get this lump that hurts a lot when i press down on it. it comes and goes, im not sure what triggers it? maybe waxing? but it doesn't always happen when i wax so im not sure. it has no head, just a lump. its about the size on a quarter now and right above it theres a REALLY sensitive spot that hurts the most when i press down on it. i never paid attention to it before because it was never this big and it went away quicker.
Avatar n tn -S I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and around 1 1/2 month ago I found a lump under my arm. I talk with my doctor after 1 week of this and without touching it she told me to stop shaving and to put warm compresses. Now after 1 1/2 month it is still there and it is a little bit bigger, I think is about 2cm x 1cm. Most of the times hurts a little bit, it is not a pain that I can resist but hurts, most of the times in the morning when I wake up.
Avatar n tn Since when have you noticed the lump? The lump that you feel could be an axillary lymph node. These are known to enlarge secondary to shaving, waxing, using a new deodorant, due to infection or inflammation, etc. Use some warm compresses and do not shave, wax or use a deodorant for a few days - the lump should resolve on its own. Have you noticed any abnormal features on breast self examination like a breast lump, nipple discharge or skin changes?

Avatar n tn I talked to 2 doctors a few months ago, they both said it was nothing. Should I still be worried after all these years? Would it keep growing if it was something serious?

They are usually enlarged when a new deodorant is used, after shaving or waxing the underarm area. Have you got an ultrasound done as yet and have you got a clinical examination got done by a physician? This would help in coming to a confirmed diagnosis. This does not look to be cancerous, especially if it has resolved by itself.
Avatar f tn HI, I'm a 23 year old female. I have had a small pea-sized lump in my left armpit for... a long time. I really can't remember for how long I've had it now, it could be as much as a year, or as little as 4 months. At first I though it was just an ingrown hair from shaving/waxing and as I do for other bumps of this kind, I've been waiting for a sign of the hair to surface or a 'whitehead' so to speak, to form so that I could clear it out with a needle if it didn't go on it's own.

Avatar n tn my tummy is in pain after sex with him and this lump isnt going away (but nor getting bigger) could it be an std? and can i have children? reading this page has made me so scared.
Avatar n tn Also, I just started my period today (and the lump appeared today). Could it be that hormones caused the lump? Though that does not explain why a lump would appear now, all of a sudden. In addition, I've been to a doctor in the past year because I had some unusual breast pain (that his since gone away). There was an ultrasound done, but no problems were found. I have no clue what might be causing it. I have read that it could be a number of things.
Avatar f tn The lump you mention could be a skin swelling or an axillary lymph node. Axillary lymph nodes are known to enlarge sometimes after waxing , shaving or using a new deodarant. What you can do is try warm compressus and some OTC painkillers. If the pain does not go away in a few days , consult your physician for a clinical evaluation. He might also prescribe some antibiotics if he thinks there is an infection.

Avatar n tn I think if it doesn't go away by Monday I will go back to the doctors. Is it normal to still be a large lump even after the drainage? Could it be cancer if it doesn't hurt?
