lump

Avatar f tn I have had a hard bony bump or protrusion on lower mandible for ten years. When I first noticed it, it felt like a cankor sore but the soreness went away within days as they usually do. But the bump did not. I have a history of TMJ since age 27 as a result of being hit in the face with a volley ball. I grind my teeth and carry my tension and stress in my jaw. I have never had my wisdom teeth removed.

I am going to go ahead see an ENT- but I have month and a half before I could get in. Just a little concerned. Thank you for any help!
Avatar n tn In general in such cases are the TMJ’s surgically corrected with or without de-rotating the mandible? If the mandible is to be de-rotated, does orthodontic work usually need to be done? If so, how long does the orthodontic phase usually last? What is the surgical success rate in general for these cases? Is it possible for the mandible rotation to continue to occur as I have noticed the facial asymmetry has increased over the past 11 years (I am 28 years old)?
Avatar f tn The upper part of the jaw is called the maxilla. and the lower part is called the mandible. You have 14 maxillary teeth and 16 mandible teeth. Perfect number. And, it is normal. In general, wisdom teeth emerge between the ages of 17 - 25. In extreme cases, it can emerge at 16 or even in the 30s. When they erupt, people experience mild fever, jaw pain, tenderness, bleeding of the gum or difficulty opening the mouth. When they fully emerge, the mandible contains 16 teeth.

Avatar f tn I've had ovca since Sept/07. Gr 3, had TAH and carbo/taxol. Recurrance Aug/08. Have had 2 Rxs Caelyx (Doxil). Due for 3rd this week, and CT scan to see how things are. Two nights ago I had itchiness over left collarbone, when I scratched it I noticed significant swelling in the hollow above the bone. It's soft, about 3x2 in, not really tender. Worse when I'm upright, better lying down. Have a portacath. No fever or anything weird.
646413 tn?1224618069 Hello. I have been diagnosed with common migraines (so far) in July 2008. I just weaned myself off the Lexapro (5mg) which was prescribed by my neuro. I thought that it was responsible for giving me daily tension headaches that I never had prior to July 2008. Since I have been off, I have only experienced my "regular" migraines. I take Midrin to abort my migraines. It usually takes about 4 pills for the pain to go away. Caffeine also helps with my headaches and migraines.
Avatar n tn I'm 22 years old and some time ago, I discovered a lump about an inch above my penis. I'm not experiencing any pain from it, and it's not noticable to the eye. However, I'm still concerned. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn This nerve runs down thru the lower jaw or mandible. A good reputable TMJ/Oral surgeon can property diagnose it. If you live near a good teaching hospital go there. You can find diagrams of the mandible that will show you that primarily one nerve serves that lower jaw bone (mandible). Sometimes Sinus problems can give refered numbness and /or referred/pains. I can't diagnose problems so this is my suggestion.
Avatar f tn I have a lump above my penis which is visible and a bit solid someone help please .
Avatar m tn Therese, sometimes a very large yawn can pop the mandible (jaw bone) out of its joint socket, stressing neighboring tendons and the ligaments that hold the mandible in place. Some people report hearing a loud 'pop' when this happens. This is called "hyperextension" of the mandibular joint, and can be very painful. There are also large nerves that enter the mandible near this joint, and pass through the large masseter muscle used for chewing.
Avatar m tn I only had about 3 inches on my 12 inch ratchet to use on this stubborn bolt, with all my might and grease that would be present my hand slipped away from the ratchet and my inside pinky slammed against a bracket above my hand. The exact location of the injury would be the middle pinkie joint that is right along side the ring finger. This happened two months ago, I haven't been to the hospital yet because this is a common injury in the trade.

Avatar n tn I have a lump approximately 1 inch big about 2 inches above my inner anklebone. It only hurts when i touch it, or put any pressure on it. It feels like a soft knob when I touch it. Has been there for 1 year now, has not changed in size. Should I consult with a Doctor? I do stand all day on my feet at work and have kind a bruised ankle from veins and varicose veins on that leg.
Avatar m tn 27 y/o gay male, ive gave oral sex on five different partners no more than five times, saw no visible signs of anything appearing std related. Theres a flesh colored lump above my right tonsil, on the palatopharngeal arch and visibly blocked by the palatoglossal arch, when I squeeze my throat together it pops out. theres something similar on the other side, more like compressed skin VS a lump.

Avatar f tn ve already had a visit with the local oral surgeon, and he told me that I might need to have both my maxilla and mandible worked on. The maxilla to fix the bite, and the mandible to push my chin forward. My question is this... Could it be possible that my chin is set back due to my open bite? Could this problem be fixed with just the open bite surgery?
Avatar f tn When pregnant both times my tummy muscles split. The past 6 months I have had a lump above my belly button that comes and goes. Since having my c sections I sometimes experience a tingly, prickly burning feeling from my pelvis up to my tummy making my clothes uncomfortable to wear. Over Christmas the lump returned and I had to wear lose clothing as it was so uncomfortable. The lump has now gone again. I'm not sure if it could be a Hernia? Scar tissue? Splitting of my tummy muscles or ibs?
