lower left pain near ribs

I am 19yrs old, female, healthy weight. I have had chronic rib pain for MANY years. As far back as a can remember i would get this "aching" feeling in my lower left rib (near the very bottom), always in the same exact spot. In the past it would come and go and wouldnt come back for a long time. However, in the last year or so, it has started aching way more frequently. (sometimes daily as opposed to maybe every few months or so in the past).

anywhere betweeen your stomach and your rectum could be on both your left lower and right lower you said left lower orr you could be experiencing probelms on your ovaries. dont be scared because there is always solutions until you see the doctor try to lay down as much as possible dont take too many tylonel or whatever pain meds bc that could lead to mroe porblems just try to relax until you see the doctor i know its hard. but trust me it will end.

Hi I am 33 y/o male. I've had left side pain (front near ribs/side) for the past 3 months now. The pain comes and goes, seems like it gets worse after I eat too much, sit in certain positions, lie in certain positions etc. CBC and urinalysis are normal. Ultrasound of stomach area didn't find anything abnormal. What could this be? If it is muscle strain how come it isn't getting any better? Are there other explanations?

I had sharp pain in my upper belly/near my ribs if I lay on my left side. It feels like the baby is also moving up there too. If I lay on my right side, no pain nor anything. I'm only 27w and 3d. Is this serious or common?

I'm 34 weeks and 4 days, and have been experiencing allot of pain near my ribs, lower back and bladder. I was also bleeding a little a couple days ago. I been sick on top of it too. Need help, to see what's going on and if someone else has experienced the same thing.

My boyfriend has been having pain in his lower left side near the ribs or above the hips. He called it "spasming" at one point. It only seems to happen when he lays down and fads out almost right away when he gets up. It does not matter which side he lays on or if its back or stomach though he could not lay on his belly last night. He said everything seems normal its just the pain that is bothering him.

On the bottom of my ribs in one area about the size of a silver dollar I have this pain on my ribs. Now I have to admit that I do rub it and I know that's not helping. below it on the skin is like a bruise that just keeps lingering, I guess from all the rubbing I do. I've had x rays, CT scans, MRIs, I do have diverticulosis and I have had a endoscopy (negative) and a colonoscopy ( found 2 benign polyps.) If I don't eat Activia everyday then I'm toast.

I just wanted to ask you if you too had twitching to stabbing type pains in the same areas, lower left and right abdomen near ovaries, lower right and left ribs cage/mid/upper abdominal area and side of hip. the pain also gets much worse when walking, moving , sometimes even when laying down. maybe if u could go into a lil more detail to what you experienced and if this was something that only happened after sex or if it happened all the time. thanks!

I had also began to feel a tightness in my upper abdomen just under my breasts but no swelling. The pinching pain near my ribs has turned into a pinch and sometimes a burning feeling, but the tightness is better today. Also, I do have a bit of pain on the left side of my abdomen almost in the same place from time to time but not near as much or as bad. I should also mention that it usually feels better when I stand or lay down but sitting makes it come back.

Hello. I am a 32 year old female and in good health. I had my appendix taken out in 2002 and my gallbladder removed in 2006 (stones were found). I had my son 2 1/2 years ago and since then I have had lower front left & right rib pain that radiates to my back at times. During the past 4 weeks the pain has gotten very bad. I have been to a urologist to rule out kidney problems and everything was ok.

My friend has a sensitive spot since he had surgery near his ribs. He gets the same pain you mention. His doctor said it can be referred pain, meaning it is actually starting elsewhere like an out of whack shoulder...the nerves run along the rib cage then into the spine so this is logical. Maybe the common sense thing to do is try sleeping elsewhere for few nights and see if the pain is still there. Before I bought my new mattress, my hip and back would kill if I laid on the old one...

i dont know if the fact that the phlem is hard to cough up matters but i have now had for the last week a pain under my left brest. like underneath it in the muscles by my ribs. i dont know if i srained it coughing too much or what but its unpleasent, i cant breath deep or stand straight, cough or really tweak that side of my body too much without it sending shooting pain. if it helps, i have been describing it to people as it feels like a rib is poking my lungs or something.

I'm 26 weeks and I keep having really bad pain in the left side of my ribs it's killing me ive had it about a week now and now and again I get pains in my belly because of it its really painful. It's my first baby and I ain't a clue what it is could anyone help please?

For over 12 months now I have been getting Left Loin Pain. It radiates from just under the ribs at the back down to almost my hip bone. It also can be at the front feeling as though I have a stitch. The pain is a sharp stabbing pain and it pulsates. The dr does not seem to think it is kidney related. But I am not convinced. He told me it was some disease and there is nothing they can do for it.

I've been having throbbing pain on the lower neck,left, front part of my neck. It comes and goes. Doesn not hurt when I swallow. Nothing seems to bring it on. I've had my throid tested in the past before this pain started. I have this very sharp horrible pain behind my left ribs. It's not my lil girl cuz she is down lower. It hurts to breathe move sit lay down. It is starting to worry me does anyone know what it could be?

She started out with the normal blood work and urinalisis and a chest x-ray, b/c I had her feel my left side and near there bottom of my ribs you can feel a bump and when you touch that bump it hurts so bad and i feel like i'd go into shock. so that's why she ordered the chest x-ray thinking it was a bone spur, which was fine i was hopeing that she would find it was so I would just know for once what it is.

Im 16 years old and ive been having these really bad stomach pains like im being stabbed in the stomach im not pregnant i know for sure but its like in multiple places in my stomach and it hurts really bad its like to the right close to the bottom of my rib and to the left same and near the center and also like toward the upper stomach area near the top of my ribs and multiple places in my stomach area its like being punched several times then stabbed and sometimes it hurts so bad i cry it will
