Avatar n tn Hi, As can be seen from the following link, an young adult male can have a serum testosterone (T) level in the range of 300 to 950 nanogram per deciliter of blood. : http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.com/test-catalog/Clinical+and+Interpretive/83686 This range also slightly varies among different labs. The broad range is to cover a larger population base. It is is also expected that with age the T level reduces by about 1% per year after the age of 30 years.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 22 years old and fear I may be suffering from low testosterone. My mood is very up and down. When it's down i feel physically weak, tired, uncoordinated, lack of a sex drive, socially anxious, general sense of fear, physically bloated and a generally unhealthy look. The physical symptoms can be so severe that I can look a few years younger and heavier suddenly just from the facial bloating and bloating in my pectoral and lower stomach area.
Avatar m tn i think the dr will look at my age and say im to young to have low t and not order a blood test.
Avatar f tn I have a 21 yr male who has low testosterone levels and high estrogen levels. He has gynecomastitis, overweight, depressed, and insomnia. Any advice on treatment option!
Avatar f tn You might want to ask your Dr about checking your hormones. If your hormones are low you may need a combo of hormones, not just testosterone. Take care.
Avatar n tn about it, and my dr. feels that is on the low side for his age, and he is displaying every single symptom of low testosterone. His dr. said he feels its within normal range and won't treat him with testosterone gel because it can cause testicle cancer. I am at my wits end. Things cannot go on like this, and I just want him to get treated so he can feel better, and we can have a quality of life back again.
Avatar n tn The doctor is the best bet. I'm not sure they will really treat testosterone deficiency at this young age since he's still developing. Has he entered puberty? How far along is he in that? Sassylassy has a smart idea of looking into food that naturally increases the amount. That's probably the best thing to do now. How tall are you? How tall is his mother?
Avatar f tn Hi, Yes, both testes and penis growth along with all aspects of pubertal growth in boys depends on testosterone also, but it depends on how low is 'low' you are talking about. Though the reference level of testo varies some what from lab to lab, here is a link from Mayo Clinic giving their standard levels up to adult age. If you are within the range limits specified there for your age then, you may need not have to worry, if not better to consult an Endocrinologist.

Avatar n tn I have most of the classic symptoms with Low Testosterone: Low libido, fat in mid-section, fatigue, grumpy, low stamina, medium/weak erections etc., Went to my Urologist. After blood work, he said I was fine and prescribed nothing. I'm thinking he's crazy. Can someone review my readings and give me an unofficial recommendation? I'm thinking I should've been recommended some sort of therapy, and if so, which therapy is good for my situation?
Avatar m tn I am very depressed as I believe myself to possess more feminine qualities such as indecicive, shy, low confidence, etc. I think I was born with low testosterone and this thought just kills me. I have been called weak, feminine by my cousin brother. He says I aint manly enough. This just killed a part of me inside and I feel like suicidng. NO girls are attracted to me due to this. I just cant live with the fact that I m perceived feminine.
Avatar m tn Hi, I just got my exams an endocrinologist sent me, in them I have low testosterone I have 1.2 when the minimum is 2.7 if I am not mistaken, the thing is I guess now I will be patient a hormone replacement therapy for increase my testosterone and let me know what to expect, experiences or something that can help me with this new experience , thanks.
Avatar m tn In any case, I would advise you to consult an endocrinologist, because low libido and increased fatigue can be associated not only with low testosterone production, but also with disorders in the thyroid gland. Take tests for thyroid hormones and perform an ultrasound exam.
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old married male in decent physical shape. I am taking no prescriptions, have no diseases or health issues. However, I do have problems with erectile dysfunction. My wife and I have been married for 5 years now and our sexual relationship has gone down the drain. I still find her very attractive but I do not have near the desire to have sex with her like I did 4 years ago. We usually have intercourse maybe once a week and I can never stay fully erect during it.
Avatar m tn I have been struggling with weight loss for 10+ years. My new doctor ordered a testosterone test and my results came back "low". I was referred to an endocrinologist, and I did not have a good rapport with her and did not feel as though she understood the years of effort I have put into trying to keep my weight down. After tests, she did not recommend testosterone treatment.
Avatar m tn So I was diagnosed at the young age of 12. I have an extremely, extremely low sex drive. I never want to have sex or even masturbate. In fact, I've never really even had an orgasm. Otherwise...I'm healthy. Is it possible this low sex drive is from teh Addisons? What can I do to fix it if it is? If its not, I guess I'm just one of those unfortunate people. Any advise/help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn i took an anabolic steroid cycle once before and used test boosters to workout. ill never do that again. Avatar m tn Hello people, I'm 19 years old and I've been having symptoms like feeling tired, anxious, depressed (on and off), nervousness, no results at the gym, no morning erection, tiny wrists, wide hips, lower back pain, leaking urine and brain fog/trouble concentrating. I've been feeling suicidal for a long time, because I really feel like my emotions are coming out of nowhere and I've been to three therapists, but it didn't change the way I feel.
