Common Questions and Answers about Low testosterone in young adults

Avatar n tn 47-244 pg/mL. Is it lower than this? Some common low testosterone symptoms are decrease in sex drive, ejaculation problems, shrinking testicle, fatigue, loss of body hair, difficulty gaining or maintaining muscle, depression, and loss of strength. With testosterone replacement therapy there will be improvement in all these parameters with time. Only this therapy helps in case of low hormone. The cause has to be found out and treated.
Avatar m tn Sorry for the delay responding to your comment. Although low testosterone is not as common in younger males, it does happen. If you get a doctor that will not run a blood test, I am not sure what recourse you have in the UK. If all else fails, you can try buying DHEA over the counter at a vitamin or health food store (time released if possible). DHEA is a precursor to testosterone and can help raise your levels.
280234 tn?1532986249 I was wondering if any other young adults have been diagnosed with colon polyps? I'm a 34/f who was recently diagnosed with a 1.1 cm "Tubulovillous adenoma" during a colonoscopy (was seeing blood/mucous in stool for about 6 months). The lab report came back that it was benign, and my GI doctor said follow up with him in 3 years. From what my GI doctor told me, and what I've read about these, they are considered precancerous. Following up in 3 years makes me nervous.
610665 tn?1237848048 I am concerned about my brother who has been diagnosed with Low testosterone and to cut a long story short I was hoping I could get some help with this and understand this as I am very concerned and worried for him... He is taking steroids and I worry that this is not good for him??? and what this will do in the long run... He has gotten himself into trouble with the law and I believe this is due to his mental state. I feel that I am not able to help in anyway due to not really understanding.
Avatar m tn ve looked up tons of stuff about it, and my testosterone definitely looks low for my age, a normal 20 year old should be at least in the 600s, if not more.
Avatar n tn I think he is very comfortable with a low sex drive and the minimal amout of sex. I am sure the low testosterone level and the working alot of hours doesn't help matters, but I think he was like this the WHOLE time you. He might have put more effort into having the amount of sex that you wanted WHILE you all were dating and even that DIP over time. Secondly, you KNEW this was an issue BEFORE you married the man too.
Avatar f tn I have a 21 yr male who has low testosterone levels and high estrogen levels. He has gynecomastitis, overweight, depressed, and insomnia. Any advice on treatment option!
Avatar n tn Hi, As can be seen from the following link, an young adult male can have a serum testosterone (T) level in the range of 300 to 950 nanogram per deciliter of blood. : http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.com/test-catalog/Clinical+and+Interpretive/83686 This range also slightly varies among different labs. The broad range is to cover a larger population base. It is is also expected that with age the T level reduces by about 1% per year after the age of 30 years.
Avatar n tn I have most of the classic symptoms with Low Testosterone: Low libido, fat in mid-section, fatigue, grumpy, low stamina, medium/weak erections etc., Went to my Urologist. After blood work, he said I was fine and prescribed nothing. I'm thinking he's crazy. Can someone review my readings and give me an unofficial recommendation? I'm thinking I should've been recommended some sort of therapy, and if so, which therapy is good for my situation?
Avatar f tn I’ve read before that low grade lymphomas are common in young adults but then also read that low grade cancer s in young people are incredibly rare at the same time so I’m a bit confused by that. As you know I’ve had swollen nodes for well over a year now (nearing a year and a half) and I’m just concerned about low grade lymphomas. According to this article ; https://www.aafp.org/afp/2002/1201/p2103.

Avatar m tn 0) Each time I have been told by my doctors that my testosterone is fine and none of my problems relate to low testosterone, the latest blood test was taken since I started to work out with heavy weights while taking alot of supplements including: Whey Protein, Flaxseed Oil, Fish Oil, Tribulus Terrestris, Multi Vit , Vitamin C + Zinc, it was also a morning blood test, so it should be at its highest range?
Avatar n tn Hi, my son has low testosterone ( 5.6 nmol/L ; normal range listed as 8.4 and 28.8). He is not growing (currently 151cm) and a bit overweight, despite exercising ( competitive sport 18hours a week). We are seeing the doctor in 10 days, but I was hoping to get some details here regarding remedies, info. I am worried and googling this is not helping. He is getting bullied at school and it breaks my heart. He is 13 year 10 months old. Thank you.
Avatar m tn So the next thing would be things like, stress, anxiety, to little sleep, high cholesterol, diabetes, depression, alcohol, self image, low libido, low testosterone, a testosterone being to high, and your general health. Do any of these ring bells for you.
Avatar f tn 2) The doctor said Ihave subclinical hypo. But my corsitol, progesterone and testosterone are also low. Should I have an ultrasound or just take the meds?
Avatar n tn I just found out my test. levels are low. I'm 36 years old and have been feeling tired, moody, depressed for the last several years. I also have a lot of low back bain and my sex drive has also decreased. My cholesterol levels have also increased in the last few years. Are these all signs of low testosterone? Isn't 36 kind of young to be experiencing this? Is this also considered a mid-life crisis issue? I'm going to start some test.
Avatar m tn Yes, young men may also have low testosterone counts - a disorder called hypogonadism - and 298 is indeed low. The normal level of testosterone in your bloodstream is between 350 and 1,000 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dl). Medications include oral, intramuscular and transdermal agents, but results vary a lot. Before you start any medication, I suggest you try a natural approach: physical exercise + DHEA, vitamins C,D, B, E and fish oil.
Avatar m tn Sometimes adding progesterone or correcting adrenal issues can improve low testosterone symptoms. However, in some cases it may be necessary to supplement with testosterone.
Avatar m tn Our (Type 1) juvenile diabetic 25 year old athletic marathon running/bike riding daughter with good sugar and cholestrol levels most of her life had a massive heart attack recently. Has anyone studied the effects of "insulin" in young adults to see if there is any correlation between insulin and heart attacks in young adults?
Avatar f tn What are the causes of high testosterone level without any effect on the body ???? the problem in testosterone receptor or in what ??
