Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with low testosterone and fibromyalgia. I am 33 and was diagnosed at about 28. I really think I have always had this as a problem, just undiagnosed till now. Can long term low T levels cause muscle fiber deterioration and chronic debilitating muscle pain. Sometimes I couldn't even tell you where it hurts, and I am always sick and ran down. My doc has me on a T cream.
Avatar m tn Just wondering if anyone around my age has ever used testosterone injections? i am 6.1 and 180 pounds. I was diagnosed with low t my level was only 135!! Im wondering if this is why me and my wife cant get pregnant. Will these injections help with infertility and mood swings. Im tired all the time and almost have no desire for sex. Avatar f tn Hello, What is the level of his testosterone? Normally the levels of LH and FSH will be high if the testosterone level is determined to be low by the brain. It therefore implies that the problem is mainly with the testes. Varicocele does affect the sperm production in the testes as it increases the temperature of the scrotum, thus interfering with the functions of the other healthy testicle also.
546831 tn?1262742429 I read somewhere that low testosterone can cause male infertility and I was wondering if that could hinder it. I have been tested and all genetics and things came back normal including genetics on my husband.

594189 tn?1386916607 Even slight increases in testosterone production can disrupt the balance of hormones and cause symptoms such as amenorrhea, infertility, acne, and hirsutism. These symptoms and others are often seen with polycystic ovarian syndrome, a condition characterized by an excess production of androgens. SHBG and testosterone testing may be useful in helping to detect and evaluate excess testosterone production and/or decreased SHBG concentrations.
Avatar m tn All us guys have low testosterone and we all mention anxiety what a coincedence!
1139187 tn?1355706647 I have Very high SHGB and very low testosterone. My dr said much of my testosterone is bound and can not be used. High SHGB is probably from long term use of birth control pills. I am switching birth control pills to the lowest estrogen kind to see if it helps. I may quit taking them at the end of the year. I'm not sure how SHGB and testosterone effect my thyroid, but wonder if birth control pills have been an issue in balancing out my thyroid.
Avatar f tn As long as I found through the interent, the hypothyroid problem causes the low cortisol; But now my thyroid problem is under control and thats why I dont know what does this low cortisol means? 4326355 tn?1354357341 The levels in men are most often checked to evaluate signs of low testosterone such as seen in conditions like impotence, low level of sexual interest, infertility, or thinning of the bones. Medical history an the symptoms present are important considerations also. It is best that you talk to your doctor about the meaning of your specific test results. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn I recently saw a new endo for symptoms (fatigue, etc.) that I've been dealing w/ for the last 6 months. She did an ACTH stim test (normal), retested my thyroid (want to up my dose - I'm hypo) and also tested my testosterone. It was tested a few months ago and was lowish-normal (430). I'm 37 yrs old, normally developed, no sexual problems. Just worn out all of the time. This time the T came back much lower - 250. And she wants to put me on therapy - probably androgel.
Avatar m tn But long term use of testosterone and other steroids have transient effects and there is no scientific evidence that performance is enhanced. There is abuse liability so I would suggest you to follow up with a physician or endocrinologist for case to case prescriptions. Take care!

Avatar m tn Well I think you should also take blood tests for FSH, LH and Testosterone and perhaps repeat prolactin again in a few months time. If you know that you produced sperm at some point in your lifetime, then probably you will be able to produce sperm again once the medication takes full effect and prolactin is stabilized. However, FSH is the best test you can take because then you will know whether your testicles are working or not.
486867 tn?1307139011 My spouse and I also had male infertility issue (low motility). I just had a n IUI on 30MAY and am really hoping it works...but guess won't be surprised if it doesn't based on the 'little guy' issue. Before the procedure they said that he was only about 5% motile sperm. We too wanted to try something before IVF especially since cost is a factor for us. I put questions out there on this...just was wondering if anyone else had the same issues as I...
Avatar m tn The meds the doc gave you will help with the low testosterone levels and yes because of that being low it can effect your sperm count, but at least you know now and are going in the right direction to fix it.

Avatar n tn I am not a physican but it does seem that your Estroidal is a little high. I am 56 yrs. old with low testosterone. I take self administered testosterone injections every two weeks.Makes me have more energy, libido, and motivation. The only negative side effect for me is that an excess of testosterone will raise the estrogen levels. If I take a small amount of arimidiex-no problems. Hope this helps.

1907238 tn?1340711313 Metformin is also used to treat PCOS and Adrenal Hyperplasia in women suffering from infertility. It works to combat insulin resistance, a common symptom of PCOS. It also helps to decrease DHEA, a hormone made by the adrenal glands, as well as to suppress testosterone production. I have a high level of DHEA and testosterone, but don't fall into any clinical diagnosis. My doctor just started me on Metformin due to this and a recent pregnancy loss.
