Avatar f tn Hmmm.. low immune system. I googled that and 1 symptom is low platelet count and that is what I have. I will definitely ask my doctor about that. I actually have a new doctor now so I hope he's good. And I will ask about imbalance in vagina flora. Thank you so much!
Avatar n tn At this point I feel I am going back and forth between yeast infections and low estrogen symptoms. Needless to say I am losing my mind and am in agony. Any suggestions? OR home remedies? Baths? Anything would help.
1168718 tn?1464983535 with ms, but I have had the same exact question. I was wondering if I had continuous yeast infections and if it had something to do ms. I had recently gone for my annual Pap and all tests were clear for infection..... so what has been causing the "itch". My doc. said that in the beginning (5 months ago) it could have been yeast and I treated it, but to me it kept coming back, or so I thought, she said I must have treated it with the OTC inserts and it went away. But to this day...
Avatar f tn An acidifier is normally to maintain the correct acid balance in the vagina which helps to avoid bacterial vaginal infections as well as yeast infections... however, from personal experience I have had far fewer infections now that I have been using estrogen cream. You need a Dr to prescribe estrogen cream. If you are not happy with your pessary look at others that are available. Your GP and even Urogynes dont always know much about the full range of pessaries available.
Avatar f tn All of a sudden this started, its not real bad or anything but I have had yeast infections before so I know the symptoms of it and how it starts. Just wondering if it is common....
1245078 tn?1268578722 Me too. I took metronidazole fort bv and took diflucan, and got yeast and on and on it went. Except my husband has sex with me anyway. It's really awful. I was prescribed boric acid once. And this was the only thing that worked. Good luck getting rid of that nasty.
Avatar f tn There is even something they call estrogen dominance and it is absolutely associated with frequent yeast infections. They may try to stabilize your hormones or get them in a little better balance.
Avatar f tn There is a link between low oestrogen and urinary infections as well for many women and I use oestrogen cream for vaginal prolapse, and for urine infections as well. The oestrogen receptors in the bladder uptake the oestrogen through the vagina which keeps the lining of the bladder and gag layer thicker as well as helps the vaginal tissues as well. Your GP needs to assess if vaginal oestrogen is safe for you to use and they can prescribe it.
1142929 tn?1271622835 So long story short I had a few infections here and there, bacteria and then yeast, or so they thought, or one caused the other...whatever. For the past 7 months I've used monistat, diflucan, flagyl, terconozale, and diflucan four or five more times. Recently went to a specialist who said I looked raw, but that he was pretty sure it wasn't an infection, though I'm waiting to hear about a culture. I've had std testing including herpes and it's all negative.
Avatar n tn try besides the cream the actual suppostory that goes inside you, this should help ,, also with some women me included alot of yeast can be caused by eating bread, foods that have yeast in them will also cause yeast infections,, so i know for myself i have to watch what i eat as to how much yeast products i eat.. makes a big difference.. but its best to see a doctor just to be on the safe side..
Avatar f tn I am 26 and have had dryness pretty much my whole life but it seems to get progessively worse. I get probably around 3 infections a month whether it be yeast or bacterial or urinal. I am wondering if any of these symptoms are in correlation with each other. I am also wondering if i could benefit from vaginal estrogen therapy, even at the age of 26.
Avatar f tn The last time I went was about 2 1/2 weeks ago because it was itchy, and dry, and the doctor took a swab and a couple of days later said it was yeast and I was given Terazale (I know I spelled that wrong)for a yeast infection. I started my period right after that and my period just ended two days ago. Today, I notice the creamy, thin, white discharge again.
Avatar f tn I was on a very low 50 dose but it ask made me sick and gave my husband a yeast infection. I stopped taking it and now I have another one. I'm 38 weeks and praying I don't get a yeast infection again. I don't take baths anymore. Only use summers eve soap. Practically shower after sex.
1648058 tn?1330927302 ive been diagnosed with U.T.I. yeast infection, pelvic infection, and herpes. i have the herpes under control with medication i take twice a day. ive taken all medication for the other aliments.i now have pelvic pain yellow discharge and a bad smell. i havent been able to have sex with my husband in 5 months. i tried twice and suffered from terrible pain. ive had all the std tests all came out neg, besides the herpes which is under control. i need to know what can i do now?
Avatar n tn I know how uncomfortable yeast infections are. You were swabbed I take it and it is definitely yeast? I suggest you try a probiotic which helps right the balance of good bacteria in your body. But what might be beneficial right now is to get your hormones checked Sometimes, producing too much estrogen makes it more common to have yeast overgrowth. This is why some women get yeast infections frequently before their period. Being on birth control pills can help even out the hormones.
Avatar f tn It isn`t a yeast infection. It is menopause related,I am sure.I am just not sure if it will heal on it`s own.I am using a cortisone cream 2x a day.I was given the prescription a year ago and I used it for 3 months. It helped with the dryness, itchiness and thinning of the skin in the area.I was not dealing with an open lesion though.
1569575 tn?1314424059 However, it seems like sex encourages yeast infections or something. Both the first time and this time, I started to feel itchy and puffy in the genital area less than 24 hours after sex. I thought the first one was caused by condoms, but we haven't used condoms recently, so I guess that probably didn't have anything to do with it. Any thoughts on sex possibly being a contributor to yeast infections? I welcome all non-doctor related advice. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Since having skin to skin contact (Penis to vagina, no penetration) oral sex and anal sex all without a condom about 6 separate times in October 2011, I have been having recurrent yeast infections, followed by UTI's. The swabs almost always come back negative for yeast, but the Dr.'s convinced its yeast, then I end up returning with a UTI ( I've had probably 5 yeast infections and 4 UTI's in a year). A couple of the UTI's have not tested positive either.
Avatar f tn 1st I had what I thought was a yeast infection, then I had both BV and yeast, then BV alone, then yeast alone, then cervitis. Eventually I had a culture done that came back fine. However I noticed that my bladder seemed more prominent, like lower in my vagina than ever before & I could feel something like a bump deep in my vagina, I think on my bladder. A dr said my bladder felt normal & that he couldnt detect the bump I was referring to so I ignored it and carried on.
Avatar f tn Hello, Various reasons for recurrent or persistent fungal infection are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance), co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. You and your boyfriend should get a repeat examination and oral antifungals prescribed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn t unbearable itching and I had no discharge. Fast forward to now, I have had to cure 3 yeast infections with diflucan so far and they keep coming back. So, I'm starting to think it's my birth control. I switched pills about a year ago now to Reclipsen and now Enskyce because they changed the manufacturer. This has a fairly high does of estrogen because I suffered breakthrough bleeding on every other pill I've taken, but I noticed that once my bleeding stopped, the itching started.
Avatar f tn If so, This will be my 3rd yeast infection in about a month. First time it was a yeast infection and BV. Doctor believes the 2nd yeast infection came from the antibiotic for BV. I just feel like I'm getting the symptoms again and I really hope not. This can't be healthy for me or my baby. It's driving me crazy!!! Anybody else going through this? I'm 17 weeks ftm!
Avatar f tn I have never had a yeast infection and I'm 49 years old. I'm extremely dry in the area but I've research the topic and I can't find where dryness and yeast infection go together. I'm assuming it does I've taken the pill today and I hope within 24 hours it will be somewhat better. Help !!?
Avatar m tn Genital herpes are typically lesions, not cuts that bleed. Yeast or bacterial infections, or low estrogen, can cause symptoms like yours. You need to be seen by a medical provider for your symptoms to be properly examined and diagnosed.
Avatar m tn I also get acne as a result of my thyroid issues (as it messes with estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels). The bloating and intestinal issues definitely could be related. I recently had a colonoscopy and the biopsy of my small intestine was "abnormal probably due to celiac disease". However, blood tests came back negative for celiac.
Avatar f tn I have chronic yeast infections since I was 15 I am 35 now. I went to a naturopath and she put me on suppliments and as well as eating gluten and Dairy free and they went away. I had these cuts for 2 years straight and every time they did a swab it came back negative for yeast. There are different forms of yeast as well that they don't test for and that is why some women have Chronic yeast infections.
Avatar f tn Well you can get yeast infections whenever but they seem to come more when your pregnant. Yeast infection is bacteria in the vagina and when your pregnant your immune system isn't as great and can't fight off bacteria like normal. Hope this makes sense.
