Avatar n tn Also from my doctor, I learned that one can be both estrogen deficient and estrogen dominant at the same time if progesterone and estrogen are low, and due to our exposure to estrogens & phyto estrogens in environment and foods. So alot of balancing is required and diary your symptoms for your doctor, and balancing your doses of the creams based on your symptoms, always start low and work up, also know that with estrogen, the symptoms of too much and not enough, are the same.
Avatar n tn Well, the doctor who did my transfer told me to take 2 estrodial per day and 3 prometrium per day and shot of progesterone every other day and I wasn't due to go back until my pregnancy test 10/7. However, I was unhappy with several lapses in care that I received along the process so I switched and they immediately started doing my blood levels every 3-4 days. I guess it helps them to keep your hormones where they need to be to support pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I read that this was due to low cortisol levels because cortisol is made from Progesterone so if your Progesterone levels are low, your cortisol levels will be low and cortisol has an anti-inflammatory affect on the body. Also Estrogen dominance promotes the release of histamine. I started on 20mg of progesterone Kokoro cream twice a day because I am thin & I read that thin women need higher doses for 3 or 4 months to get progesterone levels up.

Avatar f tn My HCG levels are good but progesterone levels are low. Like it was 6.9 on 10th day post ET and went down to 5.0 on 13th day. I am worried, but my HCG levels went up from 104 to 434 on the 13th day. Does anybody know why it is dropping? I am taking crinone 8% gel twice a day. Please let me know if anybody experienced the same kind of situation.
Avatar f tn My estrogen level was low at my last blood test which was 5 days after a 5dt. It was 47 and they said it should be around 100. They gave me supplements to take twice a day. This happened to me last try and it didn't work. Has anyone else had low estrogen like me and still had a positive pregnancy test?
Avatar n tn it was day 22, per my Dr instructions. and yes it was progesterone that was a 4. she didn't say a number for my estrogen but she said it was very low and when i wanted to start, she would give me clomid for cycle days 3-7 and then something for the progesterone to take when i start ovulating. and if i conceive then continue taking it for first 12 weeks of pregnancy to keep the progesterone levels up.
Avatar f tn Test showed high testosterone, high estrogen, and darn near no progesterone. Prescribed est. and prog. and those are supposedly good now...but if I'm normal how come i feel AWEFUL? I'm exhausted, wake up 3 or 4 times throughout the night, am gaining a LOT of weight (30 lbs in the last 6 months) and while i admit i dont always eat healthy...there is NO way im eating enough to warrant that...
Avatar f tn I just statrted to take it myself becuse i too have low estrogen. I did research on it and i liked what it said and what it can do for me so i'm going to give it a try.
Avatar f tn My blood work came back and I have low estrogen levels. The insurance won't cover the medication I was prescribed. Does anyone have an idea of a generic brand I can take or something over the counter?
Avatar n tn the menopausal estrogen our body makes and not as friendly an estrogen as Estradiol, which is what our bodies make when we are in our 20's. But the thought is that without ovaries, the body cannot utilize progesterone as was once thought. Examples of this type of estrogen in its bioidentical form include Climara and Vivelle at various doses. Having said that, there is also a school of thought that the only thing needed is Estradiol and very little progesterone..
691236 tn?1311199974 Sounds like your doctor is on top of things. If your hormone levels are low, it makes perfect sense to use progesterone and estrogen supplements after ovulation. I've only used progesterone in the past, but I'm currently getting ready for IVF and will be on both estrogen and progesterone after retrieval. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn If you have to low progesterone you have a high chance of miscarriage as it helps the uterine linning for the baby to be able to attach and stick. I have low progesterone and need to take progesterone suppliments from the dr. Lots of times in IVF you have low estridol and progesterone and have to take both at certain times.
508203 tn?1233234804 m hoping that the worsening sickness is my hormones increasing. I will request that they check my progesterone and estrogen too, my mum has low progesterone so maybe I do too. I'm sure of the dates that I ovulated (however my temperature is a little sparadic so it could be give or take a few days. My doctor knew I ovulated late, but her results may still be going by first day of my last period.
Avatar f tn I went to a bio identical dr you knew this and tested everything at once so I was put on bi estrogen, testosterone and progesterone ,vit d3 and b12 and she took me off caffeine, and wanted me to eat healthier..as well as a t3 t4 thyroid medicine..it was almost an immediate improvement....and b4 that, I felt like I was dieing with no energy and I couldn't even muster the energy to argue or raise my voice literally. Are you positive, your first test before medication showed a low tsh.
Avatar m tn If a pituitary tumor isn't producing excess hormones and isn't impinging on other arreas of the brain, what point is there in doing surgery?None, probably. However, if, instead of producing excess hormones, the pituitary is producing less than normal levels of hormones, (partial or complete hypopituitarism), the target hormones (e.
1112615 tn?1258650318 Nurse called and confirmed that my estrogen level was low and that is why I have been suffering. They had me on the vivelle but it did not work plus the terrible side effects. They wanted to put me on Enjuvea which is another synthetic hormone with basically the same possible side effects. I told them I was going to try the phytoestrogen therapy vitamin with isoflavone and the progesterone cream because it is a natural approach. What td you all think?????????
Avatar n tn My Gyno said that I have probably an estrogen dominancy and I should increase progesterone on 200 mg. I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
126702 tn?1240888250 This then gets the body into menopause and then i start puregon injectables (gonal f) and then ovidrel and then IUI. I just spoke to the clinic and they dont want me to start the nasal spray -as it looks like I havent ovulated - blood test done on CD20 at 9am. I detected an LH surge last Tuesday (19th Feb). Another blood test in a week..... Thanks guys!
Avatar n tn m not sure which hormone that would be connected with. Estrogen? I have read that progesterone and Estrogen kind of go hand in hand and if they are both low, then you would get symptoms kind of like what I have had. I would have to have bloodwork done to know for sure. I have been wanting to call the RE but don't really know if it's appropriate. Because once you get pregnant and are good to go, they kind of "dis-charge" you and send you off to your OB.
Avatar n tn I am 45 yrs old and have had hormone tests done suggesting estrogen dominance. My allergies have gotten worse over the past two years. I am cold all the time (body temp 97.5), fatigued, anxious with various other symptoms. My recent thyroid tests were as follows: Free T4 - .61; T3 Total - 75.53; TSH - 2.21; Anti-TPO - 600 and Thyroglobulin Ab - 210. Based on how I feel, I believe I have hypothyroidism but my doctor says 'no' and I should retest in a year. What are your thoughts?
Avatar f tn Hello~Your hormones (estrogen and progesterone) could be out of balance, as could your thyroid. If possible, I would see your doctor and have him/her run some tests to see if you have a low/high thyroid and what your estrogen/progesterone levels are. Also, if you are under an abnormal amount of stress, you may have issues like this.
Avatar f tn I think you should get a second opinion. Did they also test your estrogen and progesterone levels? Some women do stimulation drugs combined with IUI and achieve pregnancy this way. Because you are so young it would pay to seek another opinion. Best wishes to you.
