Common Questions and Answers about Low carbohydrate yogurt

carbohydrate

Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn An overgrowth of yeast here will ferment dietary sugars and starches, forming acids, gas, alcohols and a variety of organic chemicals. Symptoms include gas, bloat, heartburn and/or pain in the stomach area, and because of the organic chemicals, there can be headaches, dizziness, lightheadedness, wooziness and post-meal fatigue. To clear intestinal yeast, first the tongue and mouth must be cleansed so yeast does not reenter the system with every swallow.

Good protein sources are meats, chicken, fish, beef, pork, etc.; and dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cheeses, pudding, and ice cream. It is good he eats pork and chicken.

Besides watching sugar in your diet-- you also need to watch carbohydrates [starches] carefully too. For example; things like breads, potatoes, pasta, crackers, foods made with white flour, etc.
Avatar m tn It is also said that Alinia is more availible with fat but should not be taken with riba to avoid competition. I am trying to come up with ideas of what would be good with these meds. Whole milk yogurt with walnuts is good but can't be lived on. Ice cream of course, but I would rather not depend so much on dairy. 48 weeks is a long time to have to have 4 high fat, low fiber snack/meals a day. And what about fiber? How much is too much?
Avatar m tn He should have a protein source each meal --- meat / fish or cheese or yogurt; with a carbohydrate --- bread, pasta, rice, cereal; and a fat ---- pat of butter or mayonnaise if you made a sandwich (children under 3 years old need foods with regular fat for brain development). You stated he is becoming a picky eater; hopefully he will still eat some vegetables and fruit at each meal too. Suggest giving him a daily children chewable multi-vitamin. The most important thing is to RELAX.

594189 tn?1386916607 If you eat a low-fat diet in the hope of losing weight, you unintentionally make the problem worse. If, like millions of women, you have eaten a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet for many years, or followed fad diets, the odds are good that you have become at least partially insulin resistant. Insulin is responsible for maintaining stable blood sugar levels by telling the body’s cells when to absorb glucose from the bloodstream.

Avatar f tn This might be a dumb question but is it safe to eat yogurt while prego?
Avatar f tn Well, let's see. Greek style yogurt isn't any different than any other yogurt, it just tastes different. And most commercial yogurt has no probiotics at all as they're killed during pasteurization. Only the better health food store yogurts have them as they're added back in after pasteurization. Beef and dairy are pro-inflammatory, and neither are true foods -- the only dairy for humans is mother's milk and no mammal tries to force freed other animal's milk to adults.
728309 tn?1367533320 All yogurts are good, especially Greek yogurts. Be careful of the fat content of yogurt. Recommend low fat yogurts. Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn avoid refined sugars, high carbohydrate foods, practice, avoid dairy products like milk and yogurt, avoid food made with white flour [breads, crackers, etc]. Avoid starchy foods like white rice and potatoes [these quickly turn into sugar after eating], and adhere to weight control, do some sort of 30-60 minutes exercise daily, practice stress management, and get adequate sleep.
Avatar n tn This is logical for the type 2 diabetic, for eating a fairly low-carbohydrate diet would not require the production of as much insulin by the already stressed pancreas. However, if insulin resistance is the main problem for a type 2 diabetic, then lowering the carb count may not really be the solution, and medications to help the insulin-resistance problem still may be needed.
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.

Avatar f tn Yes, look out for what you consume, any carbohydrate rich foods is very fattening, this includes but it not limited to: sugars, chocolate, bread (dark or white), pasta, rice, potatoes, fries, most sauces, carrots, broccoli, most fruits (avocado is ok though), all yogurts and other dairy products that have sugars added. Carb low is: meat all kinds including fish, cheese, vegetables most of them.
