Low blood sugar symptoms when exercising

Common Questions and Answers about Low blood sugar symptoms when exercising

blood-sugar

Avatar n tn Hello, Definitely your blood sugar levels are raised. First of you need to start exercising and do brisk wals for atleast 45 min per day. A diet that includes fruits, vegetables, fiber-containing foods, and low-fat milk is advised. Consumption of foods with a low glucose levels appears to reduce postprandial glucose rise and improve glycemic control. Reduced calorie and nonnutritive sweeteners are useful.
Avatar m tn BTW, I felt significantly better after I increased my daily water intake based on a guideline a cardiologist recommended: - start with the number of pounds you weigh (ex: 150) - divide that in half--> 75 --You should drink 75 oz of water daily. Electrolytes weren't essential...plain filtered water was sufficient. However...sometimes when I exercise and/or perspire a lot (as you are) I buy water with electrolytes added and my body LOVES this water!
Avatar n tn Sounds like hypoglycemia to me. You'll feel the sugar dropping ...even before it's below 70. I take insulin, and this would happen to me if I still had breakfast insulin in me, and if I was exercising more vigorously than usual. You are describing a timing problem: you just ate, but the food hasn't had a chance to be digested and raise your blood sugar. So right after eating, most food hasn't done anything yet.
Avatar n tn This doesn't make sense. If you have low blood sugar, you are a diabetic - hypoglycemic. Did you ask your doctor why he/she feels you have low glucose when your tests say otherwise? For a doctor to come to such a conclusion there must be something going on that's not being disclosed . Call him/her if for clarification.
Avatar f tn First is a heart issue that can be taken care of by an EKG, treadmill test and echo. The next is anemia. The third cause could be low blood sugar or even a case of high sugar as in diabetes. Another cause is poor sweating as in Sjogren’s syndrome. Ofcourse if the exercise level is not systematically increased, one would get tired soon and it may cause dizziness and fainting as the blood vessels do not dilate as fast as required to increase the blood flow.
4250330 tn?1388621179 Try a coke, or anything sugary that can get into your system fast. When I was 22 weeks I had my blood pressure bottom out, which had very similar symptoms to low sugar. My dr said that the low bp was normal as long as it wasn't all the time, because baby could of been on a vein or something. When it happened I drank a soda, and sat down with my head as far between my knees as I could get it(belly was in the way lol). I'd bring it up to your dr at your next appt though!
Avatar f tn Has anyone dealt with low blood sugar during pregnancy? I took my 1 hr glucose test- I had black coffee prior to the drinking the glucose drink, then 1 hr of nothing and my blood draw. My level came back at 65. My midwiNenmade a passing comment about it bein low and watching for symptoms of lightheadedness but wasn't concerned. What were your numbers if you were deemed low blood sugar? Any other symptoms? Thanks!
Avatar f tn If you experience dizziness or you still get tired it means your blood sugar is low. If you have to urinate multiple times at night it means you have excess sugar in your system.
Avatar m tn My sugar levels is high and not coming down. I am eating the right diet and exercising as well but my blood glucose levels is not reducing.
1308034 tn?1337644984 An A1c test is a test which tells how your blood sugar have run for the previous 3 months or so - it's usually reported in terms such as the test you mentioned, which is why I thought that might be it. Hypoglycemia is the opposite of diabetes; hypoglycemia is when your blood sugar is too low, diabetes is when it's too high. You should be able to get more information on that on the diabetes forum, if you'd like to research it further.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.
Avatar n tn I have noticed that when I go a little longer without eating, or sometimes even when I wake up, I feel extremely faint and light-headed, and sometimes I develop a headache. I have heard that this is low blood sugar. Then, sometimes when I eat too much sugar, I get one of those "sugar headaches." Lately, say in the past month, I have had an increase in thirst and urination.
Avatar f tn As stated, You might feel shaking and trembling after exercise because your blood sugar has dipped to the low end of the scale. A common reason for low blood sugar after exercising is that you did not eat enough before your workout. Try not to exercise on a completely empty stomach. Instead eat a nutritious snack at least an hour before .
246464 tn?1249452147 Thanks- I was referred to one "Specialist" who told me he did not believe in Hypoglycemia as it was nothing more than a 'trendy' complaint in the 1970's. He said my readings, the EMT's Readings- have all been false lows as there was no way my Blood sugar could have been 34.. He'd only believe it if I went to a hospital lab when it gets that low and have it done there.
9309926 tn?1405447056 I had hypoglycemic attacks for almost every day for about a month in my second trimester. I did the same thing as Allocate said. More protein and I would carry some candy with me because it usually happened when I was away from home and there wasnt any orange juice handy. I had a blood glucose meter and when it happened my sugar was around 55 which is pretty low. But after month or so it stopped happening. So it may be a phase of your pregnancy and could go away on its own.
Avatar f tn I've always had problems with this even before pregnancy and I think it's my blood sugar. I try to always keep peanut butter crackers or a protein bar in my purse for when I start to feel bad and it seems to work!

Avatar f tn We noticed she has very low blood sugar. When she eats 6-8 meals a day she walks best. She also found out that when you have low blood sugar your adrenaline kicks in and fatty acids are used up in fat cells and then you get inflamation ie fibrosis. She is taking protein bars and altoids every 4 hours and doing better. I believe also they have glucagon pills. mystry.
5149794 tn?1374087979 21 weeks. Yes I did and that's the symptoms it said to eat with lots of sugar. Well no junk food in my house but I'm eating some yogurt. Hopefully this will do something.
Avatar f tn Most people do not consider blood sugar to be low and in need of treatment unless it is under 70 or even under 60. However, if your blood sugar has been high for awhile than numbers that are not technically hypos can feel like they are. If you have diarrhea since last Thursday and not able to eat (regardless of your need to lose weight) you should check with your doctor as you can become dehydrated.
