Low blood sugar symptoms causes

Common Questions and Answers about Low blood sugar symptoms causes

blood-sugar

Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn It is possible low blood sugar could cause these symptoms, but sounds more like high blood sugar to me. Do you test? If you are not diagnosed with diabetes you should see a doctor to find out the reason for your symptoms.
Avatar f tn However, I have been having some problems with my blood sugar levels. I frequently seem to be having episodes of low blood sugar, only to find that my blood sugar is only on the lower end of normal. My symptoms include feeling faint and dizzy, clammy skin, and pallor. I also feel jittery and nervous.
Avatar n tn Hello you may have hypoglycemia-low blood sugar. Try eating some peanut butter crackers and juice or regular cola next time the symptoms start to see if it helps. If you can eat 6 small meals a day it will probably stop your symptoms all together.
Avatar f tn Has anyone dealt with low blood sugar during pregnancy? I took my 1 hr glucose test- I had black coffee prior to the drinking the glucose drink, then 1 hr of nothing and my blood draw. My level came back at 65. My midwiNenmade a passing comment about it bein low and watching for symptoms of lightheadedness but wasn't concerned. What were your numbers if you were deemed low blood sugar? Any other symptoms? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Have you heard of insulin resistance? This may be partially to blame for hypoglycemia if it is "rebound", meaning her blood sugars may not sharply exceed the high levels, but if she eats a heavy meal -especially one high in simple carbohydrates- several hours later it "crashes" giving her hypoglycemia. It was explained to me that the insulin triggers becomes overreactive and dump a large amount of insulin in response to the free sugars in her system.
Avatar n tn This doesn't make sense. If you have low blood sugar, you are a diabetic - hypoglycemic. Did you ask your doctor why he/she feels you have low glucose when your tests say otherwise? For a doctor to come to such a conclusion there must be something going on that's not being disclosed . Call him/her if for clarification.
Avatar n tn Well, because when your body shoots a slug of insulin into your blood after you eat lots of protein, it drives your blood sugar low. People who drink high concentration whey protein shakes (that are low in sugar and carbs) they hit a wall, because the insulinogenic effect of the high protein promotes the injection of insulin, which then dramatically reduces the few grams of glucose you have circulating in your blood, and then you feel weak, cold, shivery, etc.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms of headaches, shakes and lightheadedness sound like hypoglycemia, which is LOW blood sugar. Other symptoms would be if you get hot and break out in a sweat, find yourself feeling confused or perhaps depressed or irritable, or find yourself yawning for no reason. This can happen to people when they have not eaten in a long time or if they eat something that has a lot of quickly digested carbohydrates that cause the pancreas to be stimulated too much.
4250330 tn?1388621179 Try a coke, or anything sugary that can get into your system fast. When I was 22 weeks I had my blood pressure bottom out, which had very similar symptoms to low sugar. My dr said that the low bp was normal as long as it wasn't all the time, because baby could of been on a vein or something. When it happened I drank a soda, and sat down with my head as far between my knees as I could get it(belly was in the way lol). I'd bring it up to your dr at your next appt though!
Avatar n tn I am asking here because I am very worried. He has seen a doctor some but hasn't pushed for testing as much as necessary bc of their financial situation. After having pneumonia a month ago, and taking antibiotics and symbicort, his blood sugar started droping extremely low especially at night. The Dr said to stop the symbicort and it should be ok. He is still having problems. He and my mom are having so much anxiety and no sleep.
Avatar f tn I have low blood pressure as well and have seen several doctors about it. they act as if it isn't anything..they did their run of the mill tests, but found nothing and sent me on my way. My b/p runs 90/60 and goes down to 80/50. i feel like crap, but the doctors seem to blow me off. I hope you get to the bottom of your problem....it's been a couple years and I've gotten nowhere.
Avatar n tn The reason you feel better after eating carbs is that they are bringing up your blood sugar. That is how you treat a low blood sugar especially if you are a diabetic. Since you have had a severe low, I would suggest that you ask your doctor if you should have a prescription for glucagons. This is a shot that gets your blood sugar up. Most EMTs and ambulance crops do not carry this drug. I hope this helps, Lease check back with us again.
Avatar n tn I would highly recommend seeing your primary care physician so that they can run some tests and send you to specialists if needed. I know that i have gotten those symptoms and when your blood sugar is low i feel that way or if you are dehydrated. Again, I cannot stress enough to just take a simple visit to the doc and get a professionals input.
Avatar f tn //tinyurl.com/4kbf7j . In the meantime, perhaps you should start looking through these links for an answer while you get on the phone and make an appointment to see doctor and get tested for hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.
Avatar n tn They can determine if you a diabetic or hypoglycemic. Usually, the blood sugar being high or low will make you dizzy or tired. It could be a side effect of the drug too. Perhaps they need to taylor the drug to his ability to tolerate it. Since he had the problem after taking the drug I would think that is the cause. I assume they are testing his blood sugar before giving him the medicine or that he pokes his finger and does it himself?
5149794 tn?1374087979 21 weeks. Yes I did and that's the symptoms it said to eat with lots of sugar. Well no junk food in my house but I'm eating some yogurt. Hopefully this will do something.
Avatar n tn t put this off or ignore the fact that something dire is brewing inside your body. Your symptoms do not appear to be from low blood sugar, rather points towards heart disease or a tumor of sorts.
Avatar n tn Hello Gilbert, I'm guessing that you're writing from outside of the US and are probably using a scale that's different from the one we use here in the US. In the US, "normal" ranges are often cites as 70-120, and so 29 sounds "low." I believe that the scale you're using is the same one we use to measure our a1c where normal might be in the 4.5 - 5.7 range, and so 29 is extremely high.
1058898 tn?1275675151 told me to watch my blood sugar because im having symptoms of hypo. I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.
Avatar f tn My last blood test showed my blood count as low and my blood sugar as high. I bruise way too easily and tire easily. I eat a normal diet and try to do what exercise I can (I also have injuries to both my knees from my enlistment in the Army). I guess I am asking if it may be my medications, diet, or what it might be to cause this weight loss, bruising, weakness, dizziness and memory loss and for the blood test to show a low blood count and high sugar levels.
Avatar m tn Sounds like you had a touch of food poisoning. When you do have to go out again and that may cause you to miss your usual meal, take a healthy packed lunch so that your sugar levels don't drop too low. Always take a bottle of water with you too. With having Type 2 diabetes, you need to plan ahead so that your sugar levels do not drop so low as to become a hypo. You are probably already aware of the dangers of sugar levels getting too low or too high.
