1947337 tn?1331423890 ll be thinking of you tomorrow, and most definately mention the low blood sugar to your dr. I would suggest you keep some orange juice also in the frig, but at low 50's is very low. If your feeling funny I had to give my dad a 1/2 spoon of sugar to get it back up quick. I also have learned if you over exercise this could cause your sugar to drop. Let us know about your appt. Wish you the best.
Avatar n tn Today about 20 minutes after my lunch I started sweating, feeling weak, heart racing, etc. I checked my blood sugar and it was 71 after eating a chicken salad, salad. I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.

Avatar n tn m betting that he needs an intervention at perhaps the emergency room if his blood sugar is low. Low blood sugar affects every organ of the body. The O2 readings you report would concern me very much, and I'd suggest going to an emergency facility as soon as possible. Recently I was hospitalized for surgery to my stomach, and my blood sugar levels fell, followed by my by blood pressure (much lower than what you report), and my O2 level dropped into the high 80% areas.
Avatar m tn When the production of insulin is low, you will have sugar trapped in the blood stream. when you test your blood sugar using the glucometer, the number you see reflects on how much sugar is trapped in the blood stream. hope this is what you are looking for! if you are looking for something more, please be more specific with your question.

714309 tn?1235737612 Well, three weeks ago today I had my open heart surgery. They let me out of the hospital after six days. I was ready to go home too :) My surgeon tried his best to repair my mitral valve, but found it was too badly damaged and calcified from my previous surgery when I was two years old. He ended up having to replace it after trying for literally hours to repair it. I was in surgery for over six hours and he actually took me off the bypass machine to test the repair.
Avatar n tn Those blood tests came back and his thyroid was low, pituitary high and blood sugar low (49.) The dr called next day and asked me if they addressed the low blood sugar in urgent care. Because blood tests were an afterthought they didn't even know about it til the next day. The dr had me get a blood glucose monitor and we are trying to capture one of these episodes and see how it corresponds to his blood sugar.

Avatar m tn They are suggesting a defibiliator w/pacemaker to control the rythm isue but the heart surgery is not good. He has viable tissue in his heart based on his recent viability test. Can they do the angio through his arms. Can they do a graft from another part of his body? What quality of life can he have if he just gets the defibiliator and not fix the heart? Is their something I can give him that can help?
Avatar n tn Why have you decided against bypass surgery? blockages of 90,99,90% are severe and he could end up with a lot of dead heart muscle, causing heart failure. If the hernia isn't causing major problems, I would leave it alone. In many cases surgery isn't a long term fix. Just coughing can cause the muscle to re-open and cause the hernia again. I have a small one and the recommendation was to leave it alone.
