Lovenox inr

Common Questions and Answers about Lovenox inr

lovenox

Avatar f tn I would not be comfortable with having a mechanical mitral valve and an INR of 1, because an INR of 1 is the same as not being anticoagulated at all. Which brings up the question, was the result even correct? If you have been in range for a long time on a stable dose of coumadin, then what the heck happened to drop you down to the same INR as someone who is not even on coumadin at all? I would want to know either how my INR got so low, or if there is no known reason, was it a false result?
942410 tn?1274047074 Today I am one week post ablation. INR reading 3.8 so I get to back away from the Lovenox needle YAY. Warfarin 5mg still in the picture. Not alot to report on the" event meter" but still some break through arrhythmia so I still get to push the record button. I'm finding a daily nap is a great thing for the tired feeling that comes with this journey. I hope anyone out there who is considering ablation is finding some hope through my story.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Lovenox post ablation also Coumadin. After 8 days on Lovenox I was told to stop using it as my INR was 3.8. My Lovenox prescription was for 12 days. Now just on Coumadin 5mg daily and INR has come down to 3. If you cannot tolerate Coumadin you may be "stuck" with Lovenox because of it's ability as an anticoagulant.
Avatar f tn i give birth 6 weeks ago i had blood clots in my lungs they gave me lovenox inj? the medicaid was covering it, but now after my pregnancy ended they stoped the medicaid and i cannot afford seeing the dr or the inj. i still got 5000mg heparin but i dont use because after my pregnancy ended they swithed me to lovenox i now take only asprin 325mg am i at risk what can do about it !!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with lupus anticoagulant blood disorder. I have a leg full of clots that won't break up and go away. They have been treated for 3 years with warfarin, lovenox and cumadin. All to no avail. My gp doctor doesn't seem to have the knack to getting the INR levels stable. I've been at levels of 6 and 6.5 many times leading to ER transfusions. Last week it was 1.1 I'm worried because the symptoms are so much worse lately.
Avatar n tn I was given Lovenox and cumiden for a leg blood clot for six days. After the sixth day I was told to no longer take any of the medications. I experienced headaches. I went to the hospital for blood work and a cat scan. All turned up well. My blood reading was INR 1.83 and pro time 21.7. I am now experiencing lack of energy, slight fever. What can I do? I am taking 2 mg of cumiden at this time (as of yesterday).
Avatar f tn s and is in a nursing home. She also has problems with her protime/inr. I had a protime yesterday and the inr was 2.9. I have actually been in range the last three tests. It is a pain having to give up certain foods and be careful of the meds that interfere with coumadin. So many things interfere with the levels.....heat, cold, altitude....list goes on. Also if any type of surgery is required, such as a colonoscopy, then you have to be bridged with Lovenox injections while off coumadin.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had my ProTime/INR test run last Friday. INR came in 1.7, my desired range is the usual 2 to 3. I have a log history of testing near 2.5 +/- 0.3 so I wonder if the Omega 3 might tend to make the blood clotting go up, like vitamin K, green salads....
Avatar n tn Did he receive Lovenox injections (while in the hospital) in his stomach? Did they put him on blood thinners? How big are the bruises?
Avatar n tn Thanks for your answer. My cardiologist mentioned stopping the warfariin and going with lovenox for 3 days prior to a cathererization but said there was no need for plavix to be stopped.
1569985 tn?1328247482 I have to go off my Warfarin for a colonoscopy. The cardiologist's nurse said ask the doctor doing the procedure how long I should be off of the Warfarin. Doctor says ask the assistant when she gives me my instructions. Assistant says, "Oh, I'm supposed to tell you? Do you need a bridge medication like Lovenox?" Makes me a little nervous going off of it anyway and now this.
Avatar f tn I went to the er again, they kept me overnight and said they could feel something going on which was a sign of a clot. I was given a shot of lovenox as my inr had gone down and then in the morning ultrasound was done. That was negative but I'm sure I had something going on in that leg too. When I discussed it all with my hematologist later(he was the one to tell me to go to the er with my symptoms) he said he thought all the clots were there originally from my first hospitalization for dka.
14129151 tn?1433037840 After 5 days on heparin/erixtra he stayed only on Cumadin, though at a high INR, and developed symptoms from a larger clot, now on the julgular vein. he was moved back to heparin and then to lovenox. Then it was noticed that some of his lymph nodes were a bit enlarged around neck and lungs (1.8 cm the largest). They did several ct scans, pet scans, mri, and 3 biopsies to try to diagnose. 2 of them, a core and a surgery, werent able to get tissue from the lymph nodes.

Avatar n tn I HATE coumadin...I had 55 protimes last year so over 25 years I have done protimes many, many times. The INR will not stay regulated and I have been on Lovenox injections numberous times. Therefore, I am seriously considering having a tssue valve instead of a mechanical valve this time. I know there is a chance of having to have a "redo" for the tissue valve so really worrying about that situation.
1299014 tn?1273247877 I found out that I am a FVL (heterozygous) six months ago after a history of seven unexplained miscarriages all over seven years of marriage. I had two spontaneous pregnancies, four insemination and one in vitro fertilization ( 2 embryos) ,all ended with miscarriage as early as 5 weeks (8 weeks at most). In my eighth pregnancy (miscarried two weeks ago) I had heparin shots twice a day ( clexane 0.2 -2000UI anti-Xa) plus baby aspirin and I lost the fetus in 5 weeks.
Avatar m tn When I was monitored which was 1x wk due to my inr going all over, the nurse also listened to my lungs each time. If your inr goes down you can ask for lovenox shots until it goes up. I carried and still carry a lovenox shot everywhere with me- if you feel symptoms of PE: a very fast heart rate, pain, trouble breathing, you can inject it and go to an er immediately. I was told not to do any exercise except walking until the clot dissolved as anything else could dislodge it.
338416 tn?1420045702 ve been taking it as easy as possible since. Back at work today. They checked my INR this morning, and found that I was at therapeutic levels. With the injection I took this morning, I will probably be a bit too high tomorrow - so they're reducing my Coumadin temporarily. But the good news is now I can stop the Lovenox. Oh, and I lost 6 pounds. Not the best way of losing weight, but I have no appetite in a hospital (although this was the first time I was the one in the bed.
Avatar f tn Today I take 20mg of coumidin and lovenox shots and am still not therapudic. protime is 1.73 I go to a hemotologist on the 22nd of June. I also just had a echocardiogram done as a follow-up. They found I have only 2 valves on my tricuspid and a hole i my heart. Also my ejection fraction rate is about 50% What should I be doing. Should I persue going to the Cleveland Clinic?
Avatar m tn he has been on coumadin since initial diagnosis and also his doctor put him on lovenox shots for ten days. The lovenox was also given short term when he was diagnosed. There was another ultrasound done when he injured his leg and now they are not sure if he developed another clot or if this is the same clot.
Avatar n tn Every scan that has been run reveal no DVT. I have been placed on Lovenox indefinitely and had an IVC filter put in (even though they are not sure where the emboli are coming from). Are there any other tests I can inquire about? Is it common to have a PE with no evidence of a DVT? Am I realisticly looking at Lovenox for the rest of my life? I am a 32 year old male with no prior history and according to the doctors in good health.
Avatar n tn My doctor told me to go back to work when the coumadin was therapeutic. My INR was 3.7 yesterday. I am a homehealth nurse. The doctor thought I would be sitting at a desk. I don't know where he got that because he knows I do visits. I worked, very lite days thurs. and fri. Today, Sat. I have to go to the Grange meeting at 5. I will have to go down a flight of stairs to get there. I plan to stay for the square dance that is upstairs later, but I am not going to dance.
Avatar n tn If your father is taking Coumadin and his INR is high, the blood thinning can be reversed with intravenous medication, called Vitamin K, before the procedure. Even if his blood had already been thinned with Coumadin, he will receive intravenous Heparin blood thinner. Heparin works immediately, and the effects only last for a short time after the drug is stopped.
572651 tn?1530999357 t think of a clot. Anyway, I am resting comfortably in the hospital, started on Coumadin and having to do lovenox injections until my clotting is stable. For once I would be much happier if this was due to my MS. Doctor says I isn't go home tomorrow, but could be longer. We'll see.... I will be scarce for a while.
1035400 tn?1351541684 2006 Small left pulmonary embolism treated with coumiden, followed 10 days later by a massive pulmonary embolism with an INR of 4.0. Subsequently I was put on Lovenox due to coumiden failure. Later that year I suffered a miscarriage. 2008 Pregnancy resulting in IUGR baby healthy but born at 3lbs. 15 oz due to placenta clotting between 8th-9th month. 2011 Switched from Lovenox to Pradaxa due to loss of insurance. Aug 2012 "shower of mini clots to brain" put back on Lovenox.
Avatar n tn I was put in ICU with several pulmonary emboli and had a tulip filter placed in my vena cava to prevent further clots from reaching my lungs. I was put on Warfarin but had to discontinue because it made my INR (clotting time) too high. I was put on Lovenox subcutaneous injections, then Arixtra subcutaneous injections for about a year after that. In the meantime, I had Taxotere and Doxil, which did not work, so I went on Femara (I am low grade, too).
770426 tn?1235061489 m taking 7.5 a day plus a full aspirin. My INR last Tuesday was 2.8 and I go back tomorrow for another check. I'm still getting regulated. I saw something that said to report a headache if it's the worst headache of you life but this is just a miserable, nagging kind all around my eyes and forehead.
770426 tn?1235061489 Hi - I'm new to your forum and I'm so happy I found this site. There is so much great information here and with my upcoming PVI ablation, I'll probably drive you all nuts with questions after the procedure. I was diagnosed with paroxysmal afib exactly 2 years ago and I'm extremely symptomatic when in afib. I've been somewhat controlled on Flecainide up until a few months ago.
